Weeeeell we could've been defending a 2-0 lead with ten to go.

How? from when he came on almost the entire last part of the game was played in our back third...

We didn't need someone who has no match fitness either. Mauk is a young kid who tried his butt off, that's a good start for me, the rest will come later.

I wish I could be as content with a coaching decision that cost our side a game, somehow the few hundred bucks I spent to attend this game wont let me...

Eh? But you think throwing on an unfit player untried at senior level would be a better idea?

Garuccio put a good account in for himself in Paramatta earlier this season, and TBH if he could play a half at NYL Level (And was named in the intial squad) he would have done better than Hoff on the wing.

Whilst Hoff's bigger body would have been more useful at defending our lead than throwing a "Untried Player" into the Lions Den.

Garrucio had torn ligaments in his ankle and missed a month or so of football, playing him in the youths was the only decision. It would have been just plain dumb to have him play senior football.

He isn't good enough to play in the first team. Watched him on Saturday with the youth team, you can tell he has a decent touch, but he gives the ball away way too much. Tried to play long balls most of the time when he had the ball, resulting in a turnover of possession when the simple pass was on. Also he wouldn't be physically strong enough to play in our midfield, gets pushed off or held off the ball too easily. I am saying all this based on Saturdays performance, maybe just had a bad game, not sure

I agree with you in terms of physical strength and doesn't impose himself enough on the game, but his touch and passing was too notch. I think Retre who was number 8 was the one you may have confused with Edwards who was number 6.

I agree though not ready for seniors yet. Got talent but hasn't improved a huge amount from a few years ago.

Have to agree that on Saturday he was not fantastic but u see he was technically strong...

Then again NYL this year have really proven to be a bad form line, both Redders and of course Gol Gol have come from playing unspectacular football with the kids to being match winners for us in the seniors.

And let’s face it if Hoff had played in Epping on the weekend he prob would have scored a Hat Trick.

Yeh like I said, you can see that he's good on the ball, just tried to do too much with it trying to play long through balls where the simple option would have been better, making him look like a much better play instead of the cheap turnovers. And yes Retre was terrible, this was the first youth game I watched this season so I don't know if they always play like that, but the heart and victory youth players are meant to be the best young players in Victoria, the team is way below standard and there is much better talent out there.

I think what u may have encountered for the first time is how the NYL team are made to play the MHFC style and learn to be as adaptable as possible as the priorities rather than going out and chasing points...

As the side would have been structured very differently if it was merely a Win/Lose situation.

(For example: Mauk would have not been playing as a Number 9 in front of Zac Walker as a Number 10 for most of the second half.)
