  1. Rekordeligs is the best cider. Bar none. As for Beer; Kirin - My basic beer that I get all the time and have stocked up in the fridge. Kosciuszko pale ale - Tasted it at Red Spice Road in Melbourne on tap and fell in love. Westvleteren 12 - Belgium beer, simply amazing, order from ebay as I do not think you can get in Australia otherwise. You will not be disappointed.
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Garcia Would he want too much? Could be a great replacement for Worm or Williams?
  3. Great thread! I will only mention places that haven't been mentioned on here. Melbourne is the best for food. Red Spice Road - McKillop Street in the CBD between Little Collins and Bourke Street. Asian food, a little pricey but food is amazing. Butchers Grill - Bourke Street. If you love your meat you will love this place. Thaila Thai - Lygon Street. Awesome Thai food, always busy so make sure you book first. Great food and cheap. They are the places I have been in Melbourne that were awesome. If you come to Hobart you have to try the Ball and Chain. Best meat and seafood. So fresh. Make sure you book though as there is always a wait of 45 minutes plus if you don't, and you need more than two people to be able to reserve your seat. Hard with me and the missus when we go there and have to wait. They have a great bar area though so its not all bad.
  4. Frustrating player, but hard working and plays his role well. When we were flying he contributed to that. I think we can improve but I think this is a tad harsh on him. Valuable personality in our establishment and I wish him all the best.
  5. I'm a flog either way then but I thought Shroj was good on Saturday night. Not our best player but very good depth player for us.
  6. “The coach isn’t a messiah who rules with an iron fist, with decisions made on his whim. You go about picking the right coach for your club because your club wants to be transparent, informed and knowledgeable. “You don’t put all of your eggs in one basket but you expand your knowledge throughout the coaching team, carrying forward all the knowledge you’re accruing. “I think a club like Lyon is the perfect example of that: they won seven straight championships and did it under four coaches, which speaks volumes for the way they structure their club to identify the best talent and develop the best talent. “The identification of John van’t Schip is an example of that, where we said as a club we do want to bring a continental coach who can show us the practices, policies and technical qualities of the best clubs in Europe." http://www.goal.com/en/news/808/australia/2010/06/01/1952471/exclusive-john-didulica-on-building-the-melbourne-heart This was on the appointment of JVS, can we expect the same this time? I think so.
  7. Will go back to Roar. Ang just playing it sweet, why pay 400k on him when Rangers are desperate to release him and he will eventually be let go for free. Rangers in big financial trouble so I think we will see him back at the Roar.
  8. When I meant the target a specific few I meant five or so of their top targets and let them all go through the process and see who fits best. This is done in the AFL all the time and works well. We are sort of tied as we have lack of funds from my understanding so casting the net far and wide may be pointless. For instance, I think the chances of another JVS is not going to happen unfortunately. When I mean another JVS I mean high profile. That isn't the end of the world though.
  9. Hmmm fair enough I spose. Would love to know which way they going to go though? Are they gonna cast the net far and wide? Or are they going to target a specific few and make them go through a process. Going to be an interesting winter...
  10. Sarkies scores that simple put away, and David Williams looks a lot better. I agree with mg91, his technical ability makes it doubtful he would ever succeed and whilst when he arrived I was over the moon, looking deeper at it, was he a good fit in our system?
  11. Anyone know if any progress has been made to identify the candidates? Would think the sooner we hire the better so the new guy can get a clear picture of our squad and the improvements needed.
  12. Thanks for that. We definitely require an experienced players up front, and his pace would be something that would definitely fit in. His pedigree is impressive. Send the scouts out I suppose. I really want two experienced players to be recruited this winter. One a striker who can put the ball in the back of the net. Also a Centre Back who has experience, leadership and presence. Those are the two main areas in my opinion we need to press for the title. We have the nucleus of young, hungry, skillful and pacey players and plenty more coming through underneath, let's just top up a tad and I think success isn't too far away. All depends on the coaching position. Very, very important.
  13. What makes this Auckland City player the one for us? Not being smart, just the second time I have heard of him here and am interested to know.
  14. Absolutely spot on. We have the potential to play a quicker passing and movement game with the talent we have, we just need a striker in the true sense of the word and have our wingers run and whip balls into the box consistently and at the right times.
  15. Newcastle looked good today. 5 - 2 hammering of Sydney. Gonna be tough, but need to win to pull away.

    Drum

Awesome. Also, would it be beneficial to have the drummer in the middle of the Active Area hence the front and back can get the chant as has been the difficulty? I am no expert though, but this would be awesome.
  17. I like that idea mate. I think it is important to send him off in style, the man deserves it. Forever in Our Hearts with his picture would be fantastic in my opinion.
  18. Everyone has their reasons, yours is no better or worse than anyone else's.
  19. I think Stephanie it all comes down to identity though. Melbourne is Red and White. Literally. That is the colours of Melbourne. It is our identity. Sometimes the easiest answers are the best and most logical. No need to over think it. I for one am happy with the colours and trust me, it is very hard for me to like Red and White
  20. Playing it safe? How so? Well if Melbourne's colours are Red and White, and the opposite to Blue and White, wouldn't it all make sense? I think it is the absolute right choice and this is from a Pompey fan who hates Southampton who are yes, Red and White. I would of proffered hoops for that reason, but Red and White makes absolute sense.
  21. Could be right. Well that will be over when we make our next attempt.
  22. Can I say Ando, well done mate. Honestly great to see you go over to them and make them feel part of it and invite them into the Yarraside. Fantastic stuff. This is what is needed. Core Yarraside guys going out and getting people more involved. This was an opportunity and you went and spoke to them and invited them. What makes Melbourne so great is its diversity. I follow AFL also and was reading in the Mercury that Richmond are getting involved in the Indian community. Listening to what their CEO is saying is that there are so many of Indians in the community who are passionate about sport its a no brainer. This is what we should do also. Indian, Chinese, African whatever, it doesn't matter. The club should be reaching out and in turn core supporters (not just Yarraside) should be doing exactly what Ando did. But the more people you get involved in the Yarraside the better cause Yarraside is the basis of what all supporters see. You are the colour and sound and create the image of MHFC. RWU have a vital part to play too.
  23. You never know, JVS consults John Didulica so there may be a chance. What was the reason it didn't happen?
  24. As I keep saying. K.I.S.S. It will turn and more will get involved if this happens. Also getting out there to people will help.
