Melbourne's New Manager (Aloisi Confirmed Pg 30)
Dynamo_Melb_Warrior replied to Jimmy's topic in Melbourne City
Yeah its a side of the game I love and want it to grow. I think whilst I applaud the effort we have made in the community and business etc I think more could be done or followed up. For instance, those fans for AXF, the Asian fans who came to the derby. The one Ando spoke to. What was the follow up on those guys by the club? For doing that, they maybe should have been given a 5 game membership and a function with the players, invite RWU and Yarraside members and have a day at La Trobe interacting with them and our fans. Instantly we have a large base of new fans who feel part of something. It means also, that is a new community that is added. They tell their friends and family how great we are and instantly more attend and so on. It's marketing 101. Just inviting them once, sitting them in a corner and that's it would have done nothing to make them feel part of the club. Whilst we are an infant we need to branch out and extend ourselves as a club to doing the hard yards. Full credit to Ando for branching out, it's what is needed. Gorilla marketing also attracts me. That is something we the fans could do. Create a website and then launch people handing out cards at their University, Workplace, School, wherever with the website name and have a launch date. If you get 100 people or 1000 people who cares its low cost and on that date and time you launch the website with a Video presenting the Melbourne Heart and the Yarraside and RWU and what you do and say "We want you" to be part of it. Invite them through the website to the Imperial for a Function where you get a couple of players and Scott Munn and there you go. It may or may not work, but it would be fun and could be rewarding. Just on this, have the website name something not related to anything football on the cards etc, make people wonder what the hell is this website that is launching on say May17th at 6pm. There interest will get the better of them. The club need to ramp it up, but so to do the fans in some ways. We all love this club, but for it to be around for a few more years, quite simply, the numbers have got to grow. 6,700 members needs to turn into 10,000 members pretty quickly on my thinking. It can happen. 12,000 average crowds (without the derbies) has to be what we want to achieve pretty soon. Number of ways to have this done. Getting a player like Bresciano and Charisteas to the club attracts people. Doing initiatives like I stated above attracts people. Together a snowball like effect takes place. The number of people in Melbourne that follow the A League would be less than 10% and that is being generous. There is a huge market out there. The club and we as fans need to see this. Football brings people together. It is the Worlds game. So we should target anyone and everyone. Everyone deserves Football. So the club shouldnt just be doing community gigs to soccer clubs as such, but throw an Art expo and get all the Arts people involved in the club. Sponsor an Academic achievement night at LaTrobe and get behind that to get people who have no interest in sport interested in sports through us. Stop thinking we are small and having a minimalist attitude. Get out there and think massive. -
On 27 July 2011, Charisteas signed a one-year contract with Panetolikos F.C.. His first goal of the season came on 14 September 2011 when he scored the winning goal in the 1–0 home win against Asteras Tripolis F.C. Still think this guy with his following and experience and skill would be an unreal option for us and for Babalj to learn off. Think he ticks all the boxes. Would dominate this league and be exactly what we lack.

Na NA Na Nananana Nanana MELBOURNE! Na Na Na Nananana Nanana MELBOURNE! 0:13 seconds in. Love this chant by the Geordies. This and Pompey Chimes are the two that blow the decibel readings out of order when they are sung. Great away Chant also.

Melbourne's New Manager (Aloisi Confirmed Pg 30)
Dynamo_Melb_Warrior replied to Jimmy's topic in Melbourne City
What do we make of Newcastle's revival this season and thus, the experience Arthur Papas has got under GVE? I think the club will not spend a bucket load on the coach. They want that money back into the club and I cannot blame them despite my preference for an experienced coach. I think Ante has the gig, just think the club want to keep the same thing going and not break up the spike we are having. I don't fully agree with this as I think Ante will lack the tactical nous of JVS and I think the club need to climb a few levels before satisfaction takes place. If say we go from a $700,000 a year coach to a $250,000 a year coach, I would want that money invested in other areas, like Scouting and Marketing and things that will take the club to the top of the A League. That should be the aim. Whether it be the decision with the coach, recruiting players, marketing, whatever, it should be the aim of the club to be the absolute best in league. As more clubs come in to the league, we should not make the mistake like Victory have when the league expanded they were still stuck with that vision and mentality of 6 clubs and have fallen badly. We should be the frontier of decision making and look to the future. Whilst crowds for us are disappointing, I still believe we can have the biggest support in the league in years to come. Not next year, maybe not in 5 years, but the Melbourne sporting market is huge, and whilst Victory think they have the majority of the support, in all seriousness, they have a small percentage of support in Melbourne. There are hundred of thousands of people in the community that do not support a team. The aim should be to get this. Obtain in in every which way. Indian community, Asian community, Greek community, Academic side of Melbourne, Arts side of Melbourne, Corporate side of Melbourne. Just have a vision to market to all these types. Westpac have thousands and thousands of employees, I know the club give them tickets, but what about a Westpac free day, for every employee to obtain a free ticket to come to the game? Stick them at the top of AAMI Park and just make them feel part of the club? Say we get a few families out of that and maybe 3k more people to the game, the atmosphere could attract them into coming back. The new manager is a massive decision, as we can see from some other sides, getting it wrong can have disastrous affects and unlike some other sides, we cannot afford at this point of time, to get this wrong on that scale. I must say, whilst I will enjoy the run home and hopefully the finals birth, I am somewhat a forward thinker and my thoughts are also with this decision. -
Visa players...how to go about scouting them?
Dynamo_Melb_Warrior replied to jw1739's topic in Melbourne City
Was saying alert the club of the potential of those areas Tesla mate. I assume they would know, but a gentle reminder would not go astray. I know the club is very approachable and value fan input, so maybe email the Johnny D. You never know. I think something like this, getting one or two players from that region, forging relationships with some agents and clubs in that region could be a blessing. You make valuable claims and good points on why getting players from that region would be beneficial. -

3 points clear of Sydney, we have two home games to come, win both, we can be safely in the Top 6. All in our hands. We are good enough. -

Fantastic post. I agree with everything you say, and that guy would be immense in the A League. He knows where the goals are, very smart and skill full. Wanna job as a scout? How do we alert the club of this, if they already do not know? Contact JD? -

2 - 0 for the Heart. Crowd of 8,000. Goals to Babalj and Fred. -
Yeah the bottle at Kennedy and then stuff at the refs. Professional lot, with their head trainer abusing the refs as they came off. RABBLE FC.
-
Their coach actually says season not over and they were good before the goal? Easily pleased? They are a rabble. Absolute rabble. Was so quiet in that second half. LOL at best fans in the world. Absolute shit fans. Boo their side, abuse their players, applaud when they come off..... RABBLE.

God I love Bolton. Warrior performance from us, shown we can beat the best (well take it up to them) anywhere. Think we dominated 70% of that second half. Dugandzic and Behich and Fred in that period is what did it for us. Fred was unreal in that play maker role. Eli missed a golden chance or two. Colossimo was sloppy a couple of times, brilliant the other times. Some of his challenges were fantastic. Happy for Good for not only scoring the goal, but his work in keeping Berisha quiet. Very proud tonight. Very proud. -
What? Why? You serious?
-
This. Thanks for filling in, but we have our best players back. Now for the run to finals. Let's get it done!
-
Bresciano needs to be approached. He is friends with some of the Heart board members, so I would fancy our chances of getting him. Rumours since our inception he will be part of us. He would be amazing. What a player. Technically, unreal. His passing and smarts are on a different level. Would take us up a class or two.
-
Let's hope the club don't sit back and wait. Take the initiative and get them in.
-
Rape Gold Coast!!!!!!!!!!! Halloran, Twaite, Cooper, Harold, Jugawhatshisname, Rigters, they are there go nuts. It would be in the clubs best interest to approach these players and get the best that want to come!
-
Don't mind Vedran Janjetovic as our second keeper behind Redmayne. No chance of Hernandez. Charisteas would be amazing. Both for his talent and goalscoring, and also bringing in the fans. We need a signing like that. I think Worm, Terra and definitely Maycon are gone. Same with Roganovic.

How is this the clubs fault mate? The security are extreme, had a mate at the Victory who was kicked out for clapping and calling a player a wanker. It happens, not the clubs fault. Your beef is with AAMI Park and the Security, what would you like the club to actually do? -

Amazed we are only 1 point from 4th and 3 points from 3rd. We are back in this. We get a home final with all our players fit and it will be interesting hey! Still could not understand the no Goodwin. Think him and Behich will make an unstoppable pairing down the left. Also Marrone and Dugandzic down the right will cause mayhem. Germano to replace Reid. -

What a win. Was not pretty and we were not the better team for most of it, but we will take it. Massive win for our club. MASSIVE! -

Injured surely. Can't have been left out for form as he was one of our ONLY decent performers. Not happy if that is the case.
