Why not grab an "active seat" which will guarantee entry for a derby and sit where you normally sit in GA for other games?
-
I tried the diary a couple of times and gave up when it wouldn't let me in. I thought I could write about the travelling fan experience in Adelaide, but by the time I managed to get it to work, I'd lost my enthusiasm for it.
-
I mentioned the ticket debacle in the comments at the end. I was annoyed at the transportation options not including tram, which I use every game. For a club that spruiks so much about being part of Melbourne, ignoring our trams is almost sacrilegious.

Waleed said denigrative terms like "animals" and others are what football fans are constantly subjected to by the media and are what we don't like. He was talking about the "we stand by the 198" banner and said that while most fans didn't support the actions that caused them to be banned, the media constantly lump us all together with their biased articles and therefore subject us all to guilt by association (my words, not his). He said that the average fan doesn't like to be referred to in such negative terms and therefore have a tenuous alliance with the 198. The latest article by Wilson is exactly why we feel aggrieved as she lashes out at everyone with an emotion riddled article, using terms like "shame file" to support her biased argument. No, Wilson, it's not a "shame file", that's your term. It's a list of people banned from entering specific stadiums. The only shame involved is that this hack journalist is still employed. I wonder what her reaction would be if the police decided to publish a list of her convictions.

Once again Waleed Aly speaks with a calm, rational voice about the protest, where the others still don't get it. For those that missed it, he basically said the denigration of fans by the media is what upsets us.
-
Just like they did the last time we had a protest when we didn't stand for mediocrity. But try getting them to engage in any form of support throughout the game and they just stare back with a look on their face suggesting we've insulted their support.

And if the sausage guy turns up, there won't be a queue. -
Sure does, but winning 6 derbies in a row is hard to top.

You're right, the real action this week will be in the terrace. -
What should this Friday's protest REALLY be about?
RFC56 replied to strider's topic in Melbourne City
There's a saying, "today's news is tomorrow's fish n chip paper". The Wilson story will be forgotten in a week or so, but we will still be living in a world of pain unless our club improves and starts winning games. While I support the protest against the shoddy media the active support gets, I'm more concerned about the future of our club. -
And how good was Sunderland's win this morning? After such a shite season, to get an away win against a form side was so good, I'm still on a high. Ha'way the Lads!

If JVS brings the sausages, he can stay for another week.

So this week the terrace is going to put in as much effort as our boys did in our last home game? -

Can't blame anybody for not wanting to watch the crap performance we're being dished up each week. I live locally so will always go to our home games at AAMI as it's no great inconvience to me, but I sympathise with members who travel long distances to watch us.

As long as the black cats finish above the mags, I'll be happy!
