  1. He reckons they'll get rid of all the red next year. We'll settle our differences at the Sydney away game where I'll be wearing red and white and he'll be wearing white and blue!
  2. He told me I'm just a bitter red.
  3. A Man City fan mate in Sydney asked me what the symbols on the centre of the new badge represent. I told him... The whale represents the huge lies told by CFG re. 'kept the white' from the old colours, when they really wanted sky blue but the FFA and Sydney would not sanction it. The bull represents all the bullshit CFG spouted re. listening to the fans. The sheep represents all of the citeh fans that have jumped the bandwagon. The ship represents the loyal foundation members sailing away into the sunset.
  4. And if Sunderland Football Group had bought Heart?
  5. Thanks Harry and the boys for your excellent work over the last few years. Your pictures have also helped bring the pages of Schip Happens! to life. I for one would love to see an exhibition of your iconic images, and would be keen to invest in one or two framed examples!

  7. So the Bitters have bought us. Melbourne Bitter FC http://bitterandblue.blogspot.com.au
  8. From The Guardian 'What we learned from the A-League this weekend' Fan culture takes another shift Melbourne has always been a militant kind of town. Perhaps it is some sort of traditional flow-on from the Eureka Stockade era and a strong record of robust protests, or the 21st century equivalent of suburban anti-establishment; indolently hanging by the ticket machine on the tram with no intention of touching on or off that myki card. Either way it is hard to imagine many, if any, other A-League cites doing the silent protest for the first half as the Yarraside did in a slightly curious protest, which oscillated somewhere between petulant and admirably rebellious. Perhaps, though, the desired effect was achieved because Melbourne Heart were finally involved in a genuinely pulsating game for the first time this season. And the atmosphere – though the second lowest crowd of the season, behind only Central Coast Mariners on Friday – was electric as AAMI Park again proved itself to be the A-League’s most atmospheric venue.
  9. Usually available at sportlemon.tv if you can put up with the ads.
  10. Scum is scum wherever it comes from. I heard Liverpool fans singing 'Who's that lying on the runway?...' and saw them make the aeroplane gesture on many occasions at Old Trafford (and at FA Cup semi-finals) for 25 years. It has been well documented that a small number of Liverpool fans waited behind and taunted the Utd fans after the game yesterday. The Utd fans' response was inappropriate and regrettable. Will it ever end? Quote MultiQuote =52507&st=500&auth_key=c5f83802677df2bba76feaf019265710"]Delete
  11. The fans should model the shirts too. I like the one on the right. (shirt, not model).
  12. Didn't need any notes. Just needs to read the posts above!
  13. Classic! Should learn shorthand and to look over his shoulder.
  14. If the rules are the same as last year, and they won't produce 3rd shorts, then the shirt must go with existing red or white shorts. I was thinking a nice brown kit (like St Pauli), but maybe not with red shorts.
  15. Mt Eliza juniors in home and away garb...
  16. To confirm, as JW mentioned... The 'Langwarrin/Mt Eliza' game... Melbourne Heart v Peninsula Select ar Lawton Park, Langwarrin (next to Frankston) Sunday 16 September 3pm ko. Bar and food available. This game (as last year) has been organised by a mate of mine who is a passionate Heart fan. He started Mt Eliza Junior Soccer Club who wear Heart kits, home and away. He has put up $20,000 of his own money mainly to buy 500 junior Heart memberships from Heart to give to Peninsula junior players as part of a weekend long festival/tournament at Langwarrin. The Heart game is the culmination of this festival and he hopes to engage parents of the junior players and local spectators to go to Heart games in the future. Heart will be there early to sign autographs etc. We have talked about ways to increase Heart memberships on this forum. So let's get behind this one lads, and support a good cause. It's not everyone who can make a difference to the number of Heart memberships, but this is a real effort. (By the way, he's not at all wealthy, and he was out of pocket last year). There will be a charge at the gate. I am putting together a match day programme (remember those) for the day (extra gold coin donation).
  17. Shame about Kenny. McLeish for Anfield!
  18. I mentioned how bad the Heart/FFA website is. I added that I get more up to date info from this forum!
  19. They like their Bob do those Ayaksch boys. (Great racket all game by all accounts).
  20. (Idea for the 3rd kit. Wouldn't be worn v Adelaide)
  21. Apology accepted. (You racist, diving, handballing, biting cheat). http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/feb/12/luis-suarez-patrice-evra-liverpool-apologies

  23. Good point re. Cantona. But what do you expect. It's all fun and games innit? Like Kenny saying England should approach SAF. However, as far as I can remember, Keane and Scholes were not found guilty of racial abuse and banned for 8 games.
  24. That's not Suarez in the first photo. So it shows nothing. There is nothing about this in the English press I have read.
