  1. Agree, if Iacopo comes in we might be a chance, Delbridge not so much.
  2. Fuck that cunt. Never liked him. Even less now.
  3. Would be inclined to agree with this, because as you say two clubs. Were rumours previously that there was an issue with another player, which might make more sense re the two club thing as there is that connection. Whatever the case we have lost a good player.
  4. Can conform 100 % Larissa won't be at the club next season. Spoke to a member of her family that confirmed this, said there was "a case of bullying". Mentioned the coach. Didn't go into it any further than that.

Kept us in it, played on despite injury, massive effort.
  6. Managed to get up there for the game, was so good to be there, for all the reasons stated above in regards to de vanna ect. Was easily one of the better finals I have seen in terms of the way we played to hold onto the lead. Williams was fantastic to stay on and pull off some great saves despite her injury, Stotty, Barnes, Kennedy and Steph were all great in keeping Sydney at bay as was Luik & Kinga. The girls in defence don't always get the credit they deserve. The smiles on everyones faces afterwards were just amazing to see, showed how hard they worked. Paddy deserves plenty of credit also. Really hope Jess comes back for at least another season, but even if she doesn't I think this team can do plenty more. Dreaming of the day the lads can give us something that makes me as happy as this does, love this club.
  7. Confident the girls can get it done, having the big game experience they do. Sydney of course have some players with similar experience, but losing Foord is a massive blow.
  8. Brisbane will not be easy but our best is hard to beat. We were unlucky not to score against Brisbane last time around, and probably could have had a couple more against newy. Was particularly good to see us score from some set pieces, an area we have been weak in previously. I think Barnes should take those in any further matches. I'm pretty confident though that the girls will know how to handle the pressure from here on in, an advantage they have on the other sides.
  9. Hope to see the improvement continue

    Kyah Simon

From this morning, first 15 minutes or so an interview with Kyah, talking about a few things, but fair bit about her time so far at city.
  11. Game was changed to CFA as it was decided it would too hot to play on Saturday arvo at AAMI before the men. Next game is at Epping stadium against victory.
  12. One of the match reports said over 1000. I'm not a very good judge of crowd sizes but I would not have guessed that many, maybe 600. Still a good size. There's no seating as it is our practice pitch, but it is a good surface so I'm sure the players didn't mind. There was a truck there selling food and drink. It was similar to going to state league game or similar. So probably the best they could do at short notice. Personally I did not mind but it would have sucked if it had rained.

  14. That's true, the ladder is actually closer than I realised. All potentially tough games too, but I feel pretty confident after this afternoon's display.
  15. Just got home, 3 nill win, all round good team performance. Looks like hopefully they are clicking into gear at the right time.
  16. Important game for us this week. With only 3 more matches after today, we need to cement a top 4 spot. I think it would be hard to catch the Roar for top spot, but we need to stay in touch with Sydney and the Jets if we have any hope of finishing top 2 and getting a home final. Will probably see Jodie Taylor start up front. Will be my first visit to CFA Squad : Melbourne City FC squad: 1.Lydia WILLIAMS (gk), 2.Yukari KINGA, 3.Lauren BARNES, 4.Ashley HATCH, 6.Aivi LUIK, 7.Steph CATLEY (C), 9.Larissa CRUMMER, 10.Jess FISHLOCK, 12. Jodie TAYLOR, 11.Rhali DOBSON, 13.Rebekah STOTT, 14.Alanna KENNEDY, 15.Amy JACKSON, 16. Sofia SAKALIS, 17.Kyah SIMON, 19.Tyla-Jay VLAJNIC, 23.Melissa HUDSON (gk) **two to be omitted** Ins: 9. Larissa CRUMMER (promoted), 16. Sofia SAKALIS (promoted) Outs: Nil Unavailable: 20.Emily SHIELDS (wrist – indefinite)
  17. Got better as the game went on but struggled with the final pass much like the men. Until the goal the best chance was a run Stotty made inside the box but she crossed rather than taking the shot. Need a better routine for set pieces that does not involve trying to pick out Kennedy every time. The goal was the kind of simple but effective football that we would all love to see the boys play, great ball from Kyah and the usual calm and effective finish from Jess. Good chance to go ahead of Perth and into the 4 if we can knock them off on saturday.
  18. Finally good to see some sensible points rather than the usual joyce out malik out mccormak out bollocks

    Lydia Williams

It was nothing along the lines of the previous errors, more just positioning mistakes. I think you could be right, when she missed a game earlier in the season, it was listed as due to personal reason, so maybe something off field. I agree also her best is pretty much unbeatable, and she has displayed that a couple of times, like the victory game.

    Rebekah Stott

Indeed! Set up the Hatch goal against the reds with a great cross and had a shot against Canberra that was not far off. Also copped a nasty whack in the head but bounced back. Possibly the most underrated in the team, just solid week in week out. Would love to see her get more adventurous when going forward, makes good runs and gets within shooting range but usually lays it it off, which is the right team thing to do I guess.
