Was at the game, it was a pleasant afternoon !

Great result and great to get the premiers plate. Will be tough with players only coming back a couple of days before the first final I think. Hopefully no one gets injured on international duty. At least it will be a home final, hopefully at AAMI.

4-0 smashing of victory in the derby this afternoon. Looks like more trophies incoming for the ladies.

Wouldn’t be unhappy with this outcome

Yeah not sure. Certainly Rado was a risk I guess in the sense that he had never coached women prior. However the quality of players signed suggested there was still comittement from the club. I think some of the players themselves maybe weren’t as committed with their focus on being fit for the World Cup being more important. Which is understandable. So we have players missing while they had injuries treated or were away on international duty. Also hard for any team to be motivated enough for a 4th tilt. It’s a shame though because the few times it really clicked they looked as good as they have at any time in the existence of the team. Also wonder now if some of the stalwarts will look to move elsewhere, closer to home ect or just new opportunities now that the run has ended.

Really disappointed for it to end like this. Nonetheless the last 3 years have been a great ride and it takes nothing away from achieving the 3 peat. Probably won’t happen again in Australian football. That why she is starting Matilda’s keeper I guess

Stotty & hopefully Catley back next week. Kyah much better this week. Hopefully start to get some wins.

Women's derby tonight. Hoping for a good crowd considering no A league this weekend. And let's be honest they are the better city team to watch. Will be tough as victory have looked good so far, but then we were excellent against Sydney. We will be missing Stotty as she is away with the kiwi team but should be first game for Tameka Butt.
-
Missed an open goal twice, one header from Dobson hitting the crossbar and another from Spencer over the top. Otherwise I was impressed with the overall performance considering how many young first gamers were in. The new import players looked good, Stott & Barnes very solid in the back. Midfield will improve out of sight once KK & Butt come in. Can't afford to fall too far off the pace though, so need at least a win in the next couple of rounds. Sydney will be very tough, so maybe the first derby the week after.

Goatlock confirmed on twitter today that she has signed for Lyon, end of an era.

Beverley Yanez just played her 100th match for Seattle in the NWSL. Was good for us the season she was here, goal in the GF.
-
Great news for Alex, wish her all the best. Great to see Aivi kicking on also. Was an important part of our squad.

Is now Jessica Fishlock MBE, for services to football and the LGBT community. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-44413416

Currently watching Stotty playing for Sky Blue FC v Seattle Reign. Has had her work cut out for her so far playing at centre back, marking Jess Fishlock, made a goalsaving effort though. Seattle 2-0 up so far first goal scored off the head of Jodie Taylor from a Steph Catley cross. Sky Blue forward line has had a couple chances and have forced Lydia Williams into a couple of saves.

Currently Playing for Arsenal under Joe Montemurro. Season just finished

Unfortunately the gunners lost the FA cup final 3-1 to Chelsea. They did win the League Cup earlier in the year, beating Manchester City.

Totally agree with this, second sentence in particular. The saltiness of certain commentators was so obvious this year and last. Actually watched the Dolan/Warren thing but didn't really think about it at the time, but it in hindsight it is glaring that there was barely a mention. Think the team probably knew and that was pretty much reflected in the comments Jess made post grand final. If certain players such as Jess Fishlock, Lauren Barnes and Yukari Kinga don't come down next season, we may well see more young players come through. There were young players in the first season team that have moved onto other clubs and different opportunities.

Stotty is at Sky Blue FC in New Jersey this NWSL season, after being traded by Seattle. Which seems weird considering she was voted defensive mvp last season. And now that they have Steph Catley their backline would have been Catley, Barnes Stott. Sky Blue had Sam Kerr last year but she is now with Chicago. Still looking for their first win, next game against Kyah Simon's Houston Dash.
-
Playing at Seattle this NWSL season with Fishlock, Taylor, Barnes and Williams, along with Beverly Yanez who was with us for the 16/17 season.

Wish he was still i the CFG system, but happy to see him do well. A Clifton Hill boy.

The hosts set the tone before the kick off, commentators carried it on. Clear Newcastle were going to get the rub of the green. In the end they got the luck also.

The fix is on

Played well again tonight.
