  1. Safuwan? Wait. On his instagram it seems like he has a family member in hospital so assume he is taking personal leave.
  2. We score 1 goal in the first 5 minutes and everyone expects him to do a cartwheel or something. Still go 85 mins to go. JVS hasn't been perfect, but I think there were also factors that would impede any coach during this season. Next 4 games will decide it for me. If we show consistency and get some decent results I would be happy to see him for another season. I think under further CFG instruction we could see him improve, as well as the squad.
  3. Maclaren with a hat-trick against Hong Kong last night. http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/article/olyroos-hit-hong-kong-for-six/x7v18bbsu14i1pv1xdxp7dmjq
  4. Just going to throw it out there; there is pretty strong correlation between attendance and hooliganism at A-League games. Not necessarily a causation, but definitely a correlation. I think there is a correlation between strong active supporter groups and attendance, but it's pretty difficult to gauge whether the use of flares, and other hooliganism has an effect. If you can prove otherwise please do so. There are other larger factors for MVC and WSW's attendance being larger than ours. I won't go any further as we're drifting off topic. Hope to see a big crowd on Saturday, and that people stop and think about the larger consequences of flares etc.
  5. If any Melburnians read this forum please note: Supporter Message Melbourne City FC recognises the importance of fan safety and acceptable fan behaviour at all Hyundai A-League matches. The Club has a zero tolerance policy for anti-social behaviour and behaviour which incites violence, has the potential to harm and causes safety concerns for stadium security. We are particularly mindful that the use of flares at Melbourne City FC matches will not be tolerated and remind supporters that: The possession, ignition or throwing of flares will incur a five-year ban for a first offence on an individual (or group of individuals) from Football Federation Australia. The ban covers Hyundai A-league, friendly matches, International fixtures, National Youth League and Westfield W-League matches The Club receives a maximum fine of $4,900 per flare. It's a lose-lose situtation for fans and club. Always like to sit near active support, and think they do a good job with chants for the numbers they get. But leave the hooligan fantasies to the drongos at MVC or WSW. We already struggle to get a decent crowd.
  6. Pressure just keeps on building for a win on Saturday. Please make diamonds for once City.
  7. Wasn't it the erase racism round last week?
  8. It's clearly a conspiracy by the media as they know we crumble under pressure. 1.Publish heaps of articles saying we are going to win. 2.Meanwhile put life savings on Roar to win. 3.Buy a tropical island
  9. Dunno if this is real. Sucked in to all the sour grapes sydney players + coach.
  10. I think our quality in the second half will tell which team is playing. In most games this season we have controlled and created a vast majority (I think) of our chances in the first half, only to slack off in the second. Murfy is it possible to break down our shots (on and off target) into first/second half? Our past 2 wins (Adelaide, Newy) both came from great 2nd half performances.
  11. Weren't you having a go at Koren with a one liner? Dunno if troll or...
  12. Tony999 is my hero. While Sydney did score 5, they conceded 4, so not a 100% thrashing of Roar. That being said, we need to bring our a game to win this (White jersey, Jaliens' afro freshly permed, extra short shorts for Novillo and etc lucky charms). Gonna be a real tough one.
  13. Agree JVS has to stop moving him around, and get him working on synergy with Mooy in midfield. I think his performances are improving, just really slowly. He's got a looong way to go to reach marquee value. These games without Mooy he has to step up, and show some fire. I hope he does.
  14. Good job. Clean sheet great aswell. Next Friday against SFC going to be a tough one
  15. If we don't somehow lose this, it will be 7 home games without a loss (5W, 2D).
  16. Might not be 100% gone according to JVS. http://www.a-league.com.au/article/jvs-buoyant-despite-losses/7f5i0tubob6r1wtotms9stdeh According to van 't Schip though, the veteran, spotted undergoing the early stages of his rehabilitation at City's gleaming new training complex on Friday, is yet to confirm he will not be staying for a second Hyundai A-League campaign. "We talked about it but it's [at an] early stage," he said. "Of course he's thinking about the rest of his career but also the rest of his life after football. A combination of maybe doing some courses to get his coaching badges and playing ... to finish in a good way. "I can imagine if you have to stop like this with an injury, maybe you want to do it a different way. It's totally up to Damien. He will come up with something he's happy with."
  17. I would say he is as good as signed.
  18. Mooy out for international friendlies for at least the Roar game on 28th (and maybe SFC on 20th, and WSW on 3rd April). This game(s) will be a no-excuse chance to prove his marquee status (if JVS puts him in Mooy's pos).
