  1. I hope we are approaching Joe Montemurro while he is in town coaching the ALW All-Stars
  2. So far he hasn't impressed enough to warrant a permanent deal at the end of the season
  3. On some of the club's social media channels. Here's one https://fb.watch/jMO8oVNFH-/ Would love a weekly round-up of academy results too and the occasional player profile. Will mention it next time I get selected for a member survey
  4. Some really great team play as well. Seeing this kind of content from our (recently?) expanded academy has been awesome. Feels more like a club and less like just an a-league team.
  5. 2. O'neil - carrying our attack atm 1. Good - was immense
  6. I think he could do with another season or two here. From my pov, he's physically weak, inconsistent, and often lacks the final ball. Can't help but think Europe will chew him up and spit him out if he leaves at end of season.
  7. No confidence going into this after yesterday. I'd take a draw at this point.
  8. Haven't been that frustrated watching City in a long time. Thought active did a great job for their small numbers
  9. I hope so too. After 3+ years at the top, our active are still obsessed with the opposition and overly negative chants. Makes you wonder whether they actually support the team or if it's just a chest beating exercise. It's not hard to see that other parts of the crowd generally become more involved when chants are positive and simple. If active are genuine about creating an atmosphere, they would lean into this. We won't ever have many fans who are interested in the same brand of active support as MV/WSW (at least I hope not). Why bother trying to emulate them? ^ this is generally A-league wide. Active support groups have delusions of grandeur.
  10. Des Buckingham and Mumbai City are top after 16 games undefeated in India. Seems likely he will be our manager next season, unless he is promoted to a CFG club above us.
  11. Mariners have been great to watch. They've got something special at the moment
  12. I agree that he's a good a-league manager; the nix is a tough gig imo. He is a pork-chop on the sidelines though, and that seems to be a red-flag for a number of posters here. I'm interested to see how Papas goes at the Jets this year. When they were on last season it was a joy to watch.
  13. Pure fantasy some of the stuff written here. On a football forum you expect some armchair tacticians, but now we have body-language experts and psychologists. As for Ufuk, the bloke is just as bad as PK if not worse on the sidelines.
  14. Yes, sorry for the confusion. What I meant was, "if we were to have a home kit like this, I would buy it".
  15. Love the thread, great idea @Jovan. Got a positive story to add. Got a call from Ryan on the Friday before the Wellington game. Said the club wanted to thank my partner and I for attending all home games this season and being long term members, and offered us an 'ultimate matchday experience'. We were chauffeured to and from AAMI, got free jerseys, had a stadium tour, and had seats behind Wellingtons bench (not the best view, but being pitch-side was cool). On the pitch up close for the trophy lifting too. Truly amazing. There's a video on social media if you want to watch us try, and fail, to act naturally with a camera following you the entire time.
  16. Centre-aligned badge & puma is a little weird for me. The red and white on the neck and cuffs however, perfection. Haven't liked a home kit since we became city, but would definitely buy this one if it were to be our jersey next season.
  17. I'm definitely not on the PK out train, but have some concerns if he continues past this season. Like others mentioned, there hasn't seemed to be any progression or development in the playing style, and we don't appear to have much tactical flexibility. You only need to look at Sydney this season to see how that goes in the long run. The reluctance to use subs is annoying and a bit of a vicious cycle. The fact PK persevered with Leckie after his shocking start makes this more confusing. PK doesn't think X will have an impact X doesn't get match fitness When X does get a chance, they aren't match fit and can't make an impact. Go back to 1. I'm a little disappointed that Pappas signed a new contract with the Jets today. When they're on, they have been my favourite to watch this season. With better cattle he could do very well imo.
  18. I've been watching Johor's games (partner's hometown team). Probably lucky to draw with Kawasaki, but 4/6 points so far from #1 in J- and K- leagues is amazing. Home advantage has certainly helped. Not sure if they can keep top spot, but it'd be awesome to come up against them if we end up second.
  19. Mat Leckie: 17 matches, 9 goals, 4 assists Craig NO ONE: 19 matches: 4 goals, 4 assists
  20. We will need to be smarter with pressing and substitutions with the weather and the short turnarounds. Interested to see if PK adjusts...
  21. Don't think we'll get another clean sheet, but if we keep this scoring form we should be alright. 3 points here is one hand on the plate I reckon.
  22. The post-match was truly embarrassing. You know something's wrong when Andy Harper is making the most sense. Ten/Paramount+ need to look beyond ex-players for pundits. Especially ones who can hardly string a sentence together.
  23. I've heard it asked once or twice in the pressers I've seen, but they've never pushed further for a longer explanation. Closest thing to an answer from PK was
