I think it's a bigger test for headquaters, hope they don't balls it up like last time with Villa.
  2. We all are. At least we can claim we were here before Tim.
  3. All that figure indicates is the rusted on sensless lemings that on a yearly basis commit regardless of common sense.
  4. Good performance lacked real class in the final quarter but definitely in with a chance of a medal.

I'm still leaning on the hope that the visa and marquee spot is on a quality CB and a genuine #10. If the Rose rumour is correct then I can live with that.
  6. 67:70 at end of the 3rd. Come on! True. But they haven't lost any match in some ridiculous amount. Any win would be monumental.
  7. Boomers v Dream team. Holding our own great 1st half. Can't see us keeping it up but if we manage some how could be an Americas cup moment.
  8. What's Strikers standard. Top 1 or 2 team in their League can't be bunnies but I've got no idea on how they compare to Victorian NPL.

Fringe benefits? It's just decency and common courtesy. Some of the stories of the treatment of some of the W League players is just wrong.
  10. Just tried again now. Still unavailable. Not doing it. I haven't felt this rebellious since breaking into the principles office during hsc break up.
  11. Plenty of youth in the yoof team. We need to sign senior (men) not some boys. If any of the kids are any good they'll get a crack. Not sure Rose is the answer, but if he is backup to Clisby then we could have a few lol this year.
  12. Agree with both points. My point was that it pains me seeing decent past players performing consistently well at new clubs. But with the way the league is structured every season atleast half every teams players switch clubs so it's inevitable that some improve and some don't.
  13. Watch him smash this year. It will be painful. Goodwin x2
  14. Tried to do it just now. Couldn't. Might try tomorrow.

Already our credibility is pretty much affected after the Villa debacle. Plus all the past socceroos that have came and basically failed. Kewell, Kennedy, Grella. Just don't want us to be the place were good players come to retire. CFG need to capture the hearts of Melburnians and it won't be done by gimmicks. So basically Cahill needs to produce on the pitch.
  16. If we are playing 352 then this is disaster. Fullbacks most important position in that formation. But if we stay with 433 agree @Tesla regarding fullbacks importance. And with a cap you can't have big players in all positions.

If it falls over it will be more than money that is lost.

If its just about soccer. Then it should be day 1 back after the break.
  19. I'll add the use of his. It is "he is".
  20. Transfer fees are a fundamental revunue stream for a club. After the gate and sponsorship what other form of revunue can a club generate. Oh I nearly forgot charge a 12 year old 2k a season to fund some b grade senior side. Seriously if the FFA are not careful they will kill all the 2nd 3rd tier levels and decimate the grassroots for some fanciful level playing field that they change or enforce on a whim. Remove the cap, remove the embargo on transfer fees and remove all the other restrictions on the clubs and allow them to find new innovative ways to develop. This US/AFL based model is flawed when it comes to the global game. Rant over. Back to work

There's alot at stake. For all 3 parties it's kinda last roll of the dice. 1 club. After Villa and the list of failed ex soccerroo greats and the need to boost the gate. 2 Cahill himself. Will most likely be his last contract and if he stumbles his world cup aspirations are killed. 3 FFA. After changing rules adhoc in the hope of increasing the sale price of the tv rights if Cahill fails then not only their integrity gone but more importantly their commercial hopes. Just hope this all ends well. And really it depends what happens on the pitch and that ultimately hinges on our 33% man. So all ends up the jury is out. But for me atleast were having a crack and who knows it may work
  22. Your on something there. In fact there should really only be 2 teams in NSW.
  23. Is that the first report from the Germano room? Because that is all I have been wanting to hear. If they can do that on a weekly/regular basis that would be superb. It actually builds trust and confidence in the club. I just hope it's not just a one off.
