  1. Ahhh. The magic of David Lyon. So true. But he was/is not alone in the lack of vision, commitment, passion and member interests that was Heart. Come on City.
  2. Just seen the crowd numbers 7,345. How disappointing. We have definitely not improved this from last year.
  3. First 10 mins and all the second half great football and great entertainment. Loved it - oh and also loved the win. Also, brought a guy from the UK tonight and he was amazed at the Melburnians. Great work tonight fellas. Loved the follow chanting with Ga. Keep it up.
  4. Big club afraid of the little club? No way. The way I saw it was that muscat (and probably all other clubs by now) know that our "game plan" is to keep possession and press up the field. Victory well knew that all they had to do was defend, stop us getting close to the goal and then hit us quickly on the break. Which they did very effectively - IMHO we should have lost by more than 3. It was obvious they knew: 1. We have no firepower in the front (Ramsay??) 2. Our defense is weak (Kisnorbo??) and too far out. 3. Their attack is fast, strong and good. 4. We have a coach who does not know how to cover weaknesses or adapt during a game. QED
  5. JW you call it "awareness" I say "marketing". This just seems to be another thing that is not being done well by Melbourne City. I do subscribe to the belief that "names" will help but even this will not be enough while we have such a poor ability to put ourselves out there. I see much more promo for basketball.
  6. I would hope that by the end of this season the cap and the number of marquees allowed will be increased. The game is on a roll and we have to capitalise by putting on good football and getting more media attention. .
  7. The mega is fucked, we need to buy a new one but the terrace is a bit poor. If nobody has got one to give how about a collection? I am happy to help out.
  8. Would be much better to have willo come off the bench
  9. Fair call and like it. Not beyond the realms of possibility - time will tell. Trust me when I say CFG will not walk away They will get things right and the team will become successful in the long term. In the short term they need to make the one decision they can do amd move JVS on! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully we can have a successful side the people of Melbourne will be proud to support. Hear hear. I am not just interested in being able to beat the tards. I want city to provide entertainment and I want Melbourne to be the capital of football
  10. No, absolutely no. There is no way top management can hide behind the excuse of "lack of resources". This is exactly the time where good management shines or fails. Ours has failed. It has not ignited any passion, sense of pride or desire to be the best. The whole lot should go.
  11. I genuinely believe this could happenNever in a billion years.Viera is too important to the youth development of City. He is worth far more to man city than he is to us.The even call the youth development team "Viera's team".Zero to No Chance.Instead of getting a big European name why don't we just hire someone who has had some success at coaching in Australian Domestic Soccer? The perfect scenario for me if for us to sack JVS now and to get an experienced Local Caretaker for the rest of Season and then Ange to be offered way too much money to refuse taking the job once he is sacked with the NT after Australia does poorly at the Asian Cup.Yes please. He is the safe option, and we probably need to go with the safe option after JVS and JA. On the other hand, we have money these days we could go after someone better from overseas.I don't really care, just get rid of JVS and don't replace him with another retard like last time with JA. Pretty much this. I think we should be aiming to get in someone capable of changing the landscape of club football but there may not be anyone of that standard avaliable/Willing just yet, so while we are waiting with just need someone capable of doing well Couldn't agree more with getting rid of JVS but, if you really want to change the landscape of club football" and get passion, club spirit and a winning mentality into Heart/City you have to do as most of us want ie clean out the people on top as well. Fish head stuff.
  12. I was driving down from NE Victoria for this one. If there's anyone from the franchise reading this please give me one reason why I should bother beyond yelling abuse at the players and coach. Well how about supporting the opposition?
  13. Well last week was boring, this week is embarrassing. What a shocking performance they give each week - and where is the entertainment we were supposed to get. It's now time for CFG to come in hard on this useless club. Think I might not go to the next home games as a protest - and wish I hadn't already bought my derby tickets.
  14. Just jump on wiziwig How do you get rid of the ads?
  15. Totally agree Bela and the quote is spot on. in my opinion the FFA have done a fabulous job of developing football in Australia. It's been a slow and very difficult process but we are now on the cusp of really taking off. Changes have happened, will continue to do so but they must occur slowly. We will never be like the European leagues and for CFG to push this, and particularly now, is fraught with real dangers. As you say - just concentrate on getting a good club going here and giving the supporters some joy.
  16. How come everyone on here thinks this and JVS doesn't?
  17. How do we get this culture, the pride and the want to win attitude. Firstly we need to have management that are seen to be committed (only one way to get this - bye bye) then we need to get the team desperate to give their all. The supporters are already there, maybe if we had some function, event or even a training session where the supporters can meet, talk to and formally and collectively show how they feel to the players, maybe, just maybe they will get that absolute passion as well.
  18. Spot on. Don't expect him to do anything if he has too much time to think. With him it just happens. One minute you love him, the next you hate him. I have always thought he is best off the bench some time into the second half but all in all I would prefer someone who can create chances.
  19. Brilliant. Finally someone has come out and said it. We all know that the team is unbalanced and has some fairly major deficiencies in the back line but, as in all companies, the culture and enthusiasm for the organisation comes from the top. Until we get committed and vibrant people there we cannot expect the "workers" to look at this as any more than a 9-5 job and not put in that extra something that makes the difference between performers and non performers.
  20. I am really starting to think I've joined the wrong club. Did not enjoy yesterday at any time as I always thought we were going to be run over. I took two overseas football fanatics to the derby. Their main comment was "your goalkeeper is not very good". They worked that out in less than one game. How the hell can JVS and the club not see it? Oh, and what was their other comment about? You guessed it...... poor defending. A lot of people on here have been worried about us "leaking" goals. I am currently building an arc because I can see a flood coming. As others have said the more we change the more nothing has changed.
  21. The A-League has done well this year with only two clubs not quite making their totals of last year. As posted by Davo1985 on fourfourtwo.com Melbourne Victory: 22,201 (22,021) (100.82%) WSW: 18,176 (16,904)(107.52%) Brisbane Roar: 11,585 (8,112)(142.81%) Sydney FC: 11,041 (10,841)(101.84%) Melbourne City: 10,044 (7,307) (137.46%) Newcastle Jets: 8,613 (10,115) (85.15%) Adelaide United: 7,384 (6,415)(115.11%) Perth Glory : 5,181 ( 5,000)(103.62%) Central Coast Mariners: 5,539 (5,960) (92.94%) Wellington Phoenix: 3,701 ( 3,500)(105.74%) Total = 103,465 New A-league Membership Record!!! Total as of 11/10/2013 = 86,352 Total as of 1/4/2014 = 96,175 It would be nice to surpass the "other sky blues"
  22. If I remember the history correctly The Melbourne Rectangular Stadium (AAMI Park) was originally only going to have a capacity 20,000 or so. Melbourne Victory campaigned pretty hard for a larger capacity and it was finally built with room for just over 30,000. They also provided for an expansion to 50,000 if needed.
  23. If you have trouble sneaking in, Contact someone in there to grab the person who is next to thems ticket - bring it out to you to use to get in and bam you're in. Does this really work? I thought that once a ticket is used to get in its number is registered and can't be used again. Otherwise we could just print multiple copies of a ticket ourselves.
