  1. There has been "something wrong" with this club for quite a while and it is certainly a lot deeper than players and coaches. There is a total lack of passion, excitement and pride in every aspect of it. The team fails to give joy or a belief that they will perform each week. The club is a faceless corporation. The supporters are not made to feel a part of the club. It so appears to be a business focussed on the financials. One wonders where we would be without the loyal, rusted on soccer tragics. I know I am a miserable bugger but it frustrates me. So much that could be and isn't.
  2. @zanty Thank you - all the help gratefully received. I hadn't looked at ACL as I presumed they were up to date. Will correct tomorrow.
  3. I will be looking after this thread while JW1739 attends the Germano Rehabilitation Centre - could be a loooong recovery!! I am also just a little worried that his injury is a dirty, rotten plan to attract sympathetic help. Anyway, here is the latest update (27 December 2023). Please let me know if you spot any errors. 4. I actually don't think it's primarily the fans at fault. What we have is an entertainment product. I feel it all starts with the club. If they actively promoted themselves and delivered an entertaining atmosphere this would attract more spectators. More spectators gives more atmosphere and attracts more spectators - and here we go.
  5. "I think it's up to the clubs to control their own fans." And the best way to do this is to have genuine close cooperation with active.
  6. Interesting comment from Daniel Lévy on why he appointed Ange Postecoglou at Spurs "who understood our DNA, would play attacking football, that would give young players a chance, believe in the academy, would build a relationship with the fans and understand the resources that we have and don’t have as a club and be part of a team." Sounds exactly what we want from our coach, club and players
  7. Agreed. Would be a great way to acknowledge what the girls have done for women's football and football in general to have whoever is available from the Matildas squad do a circuit before the game in an open vehicle.
  8. And a lot of that atmosphere comes from having a strong active group. Something that MCFC needs to support and promote.
  9. Thank you JW. Knew nothing about the FSAA. I have now joined - it seems to be free?? This is just what was needed. Hopefully they will gain traction and become a strong supporter voice.
  10. Am I wrong or does this show that, despite who we have as a manager, the best we can expect is to win 50% of our games 😂😂
  11. The club AND active need to work together to control this. Shouldn't be that difficult.
  12. As JW noted - more and more people ("members") of this club are joining the ranks of the disinterested. Heart was fun and family. It no longer is.
  13. This is exactly the problem. In the Heart days we felt part of the club, it felt like a warm family. It now seems like members are an inconsequential.
  14. Sorry, but you read my frustration all wrong. I have supported clubs in my life who have never been world beaters or top of their league. Indeed my local NPL club is in the bottom half of the table. However what all of them had was passion, playing for the jersey, some predictability and the ability to sometimes produce the unexpected flash of brilliance. I have been supporting this club since its beginnings and can say I got a lot more pleasure in the Heart days. What I am now being served is frustration, exasperation, and no feeling of the passion and connection I used to get. MCFC is still "my club" but I will wait until they show more of what I desire in a club before I fully engage again.
  15. Right there is the reason I have finally pulled the plug on this team. Cannot stand the frustration of the inconsistency. PK in particular was always a disaster waiting to happen and it has been unsurprising to see the gradual loss of competence in the team from what it was like when he took over. Will continue to follow my local NPL side. Much more passion.
  16. Why does this team continue to disappoint? No drive, no enthusiasm, no passion, nothing to pump up pride, always a feeling of "almost". How can you play 19 games and draw 7 of them?
  17. I think he is a poor manager. He is very lucky to have had the quality of players in the team to make him look good.
  18. And there I was thinking PK was making intelligent use of his subs 😁
  19. That's the number that attend. There are probably many more who are staying low and watching at home at the moment and who will/could attend in the future if they are attracted.
  20. I doubt that given what I see as PK's inability to analyse games.
