  1. Not a bad site. There are two industrial sites on the East and North that could be utilised, Fairfield railway station isn't too far away and what if we got the old outer circle railway back? Then it would be easily accessible from most of Melbourne including the Southern and Eastern suburbs
  2. I am amazed that we have still been able to attract 7,000+ members and nearly 7,000 av attendances. If, as a club, we had been structured and led properly we would already be at 10,000+ and 20,000+ numbers. I have no doubt that the multiple boosts we have had in the last few weeks PLUS the expected ongoing better and more focussed management will see us hit these numbers next year. Can't wait.
  3. KOM - Call MHFC membership on 1300 255 432. I have just sent them an email regarding this whole crap system. "Needed to book for this game for 4 members and 3 friends. What a painful and time consuming process this turned out to be. The "members privilege" period during the last week allowed us to book our 4 seats for this game but not book for the friends. So at 9am this morning I got on the Ticketek site to book in our 3 non member friends and to try to get us all together - was totally confused. Had to ring Ticketek (phone number 132 489) who said about the friends "Concessions cannot be booked into the same section where you are booked into. They are only allowed in other sections - Melbourne Heart instructions". After much discussion/argument/request to speak to a "higher" authority we managed to get it done. Then when we tried to get the pre booked members seats transferred so that we could sit together we were told "Ticketek does not allow you to transfer bookings". After pointing out that this option was on their website they then acknowledged it but that it would cost an additional $4.50. What a waste of time, what a crass system, what a way to treat members. I am convinced professionals like MCFC can do it better - would not be hard."
  4. Just looked at Tickertek and it looks like we now have to pay an extra $4.50 to relocate so we can all sit together. Its starting to look like the members priviledge of booking early is NO advantage - in fact its financially disadvantageous. Pissed off at the whole process.
  5. I just bought 4 member tickets - no problem. Now all I have to look forward to is separately buying 3 non member tickets tomorrow and trying to get all the seats together.
  6. I hope Zoopla buys them The latest is that the "Football Federation Australia's board is due to meet on February 15 when it should be able to give final approval of the $12 million sale to a consortium led by Primo Smallgoods boss Paul Lederer, Pirtek founder Peter Duncan and Jefferson Cheng, president of Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions".
  7. We are confused. Have just tried to book for ourselves and 3 friends and only seem to be able to book seats for the members. Came on forum to see what others had found. If I now read you correctly this is because the 4 of us who are members, have to buy our tickets now and then have to wait until Friday 7th before we can buy tickets for our 3 friends who are not members? As we would all want to sit together do we then at that later time have to also re-allocate our seating so that we can get all 7 seats together? If so - what a farce.
  8. Agree with the last few posts. There is no need for insulting or provocative chants and banners. This buyout brings so many positives. The new owners are incredibly professional and will already know the prevailing sentiments. We will gain far more credibility if we just keep turning up in red and white and supporting the team with our "come on you boys in red" etc
  9. I disagree. I'm not protecting JVS but what time has he had to gel the team if he has only coached us for 4 weeks? Not very much but his stamp is already evident. The style of play has changed, the players are more confident and playing better football, we are attacking AND we are now winning games. It should only get better.
  10. Oops - JVS must have listened to you. Last night we are 1 man down and 1 goal down and he brings on two attackers. I think he totally outmanoeuvred Farina.
  11. Nobody with a straight face could say that JA would have lead the team to a win last night after being 1-0 and 1 man down. If there was ever a time to compare the difference in quality of coaches, last night was it. It's becoming more and more obvious that JA didn't have a clue about tactics, team structure and motivation.
  12. I am devastated. This is not the club I have followed and loved all season. Where did all of this composure, passion, ability to show flowing football and desire to attack come from? It just shows the incredible damage having a coach like JA who couldn't properly structure or instil confidence in the team does. Sidwell et al has a lot to answer for. With JVS everyone's game on the ground has lifted and to come back from a man and a goal down and against very poor refereeing shows a fantastic spirit. Thanks again Yarraside, I love the noise - it makes for a brilliant atmosphere.
  13. We have "jumped" 100 in a week. I wonder how much of this is due to the MCFC hype?
  14. The most awful programme imaginable. Not clever or funny.
  15. Still refuse to watch it. Fuck Thursday FC.
  16. Can't believe this guy's performance. After watching his latest misses at AAMI and now Adelaide I was hoping someone might compile a video of Mifsud's efforts this season? Could make a great comedy show.
  17. So MCFC looked at Sydney FC and then briefly WSW before Heart. How fortuitous for both of us that these overtures did not proceed. MCFC have ended up with the club that delivers probably the most passionate supporters, the most enjoyable atmosphere at games (Yarraside) and the most sports focussed city in Australia. We have got what appears to be a professional and considerate management that will take us where we all dreamt of going - the top of the tree. In addition Melbourne and football in Australia gains hugel. What a win, win!! My depression has finally gone and I am suddenly soooo enthusiastic about the game again. Why can't it all happen tomorrow? Sydney FC and Victory - cry in your beer.
  18. New colours, new strip, new logo etc. I'd rather not but it doesn't worry me too much. Providing they don't affect the enthusiasm, noise and atmosphere our fantastic supporters give all Heart matches it will always be THE HEART. This news is fantastic as it now gives us the ability and expertise to finally provide that credible and better alternative in Melbourne. It's also going to be absolutely great for the sport in Melbourne and HAL generally.
  19. Had high hopes for this guy but the icing on the cake was being offside (30 times now) to Duganczic's shot and then still not being able to hit the goal from 3m away. How much better would we be if he had netted a small proportion of his chances. I can't bear to watch him anymore. His time is well and truly over.
  20. Isn't there some way of dealing with people like this before they stimulate some soccer hooliganism?
  21. I'm so sick of these guys. Have seen them on a number or occasions complaining about seat allocation and starting their own shitty chants etc
  22. Should we sign players now or wait? What a question. Do it now for 3 reasons 1. Keep the current members encouraged 2. Attract new members 3. Integrate and develop the team for a mind bending next season Can you just imagine the euphoria we saw after last week's result happening each week. Heart = Excitement. After all we have been through we deserve this.
  23. How come the club don't see this as obvious? Would also like to see these clubs being showcased in the half time period probably along with some womens teams - after all the female Ballon d'or is Australian.
  24. This, although selfishness in a striker I think is needed, unless you have a big target man who looks to bring others in, ala Hesky. I wouldn't mind us aligning ourselves with someone like the Bulleen Lions, who have a history of youth development and make it their goal - I remember reading an article on it. We should be setting up direct links to at least half the club s in Melbourne. That is what I call community engagement. Then you truly represent Melbourne.
  25. Wow - not only did we win but we finally played like a team that believed in themselves. In answer to Lucy on Thursday FC last week when she commented that JA wasn't at fault coz "coaches don't score the goals". Well, yes they do because good players don't make a good team, it's the coach (and the club and supporters) that makes them into a good team. Great night and well done to Yarraside. Loved the enthusiasm, noise and emotion. Hope I didn't see a issue with security at one stage, we need to control this so we don't get labelled like the tards.
