  1. Couldn't agree more! We have to go that 1 step further. Especially if we manage to keep majority of the squad we have given the circumstances with the league around pay-cuts etc. Runners up in both the FFA Cup, GF and 2nd on the table this yearly surely next season the aim would be that one better. Anything less we have gone backwards imo..
  2. Well surely the expectation would be to go that 1 step further? Look at this season. 2nd on the ladder FFA Cup runners up Grand Final runners up. Anything less would obliviously be a step backwards. At least he played for us and then coached the Youth Team and W League aswell with some success.. Hopefully he can bring out the passion that he shows week in and week out into the players.
  3. That's it right there. Look at this season. FFA Cup runners up, Finished 2nd on the table, and Runner up in the Grand Final.. expectations for next year would be exactly that to go 1 step further and to expect Kisnorbo to do that in his first season if he ends up coaching would be a bit unrealistic tbh.. Really hope we keep Erick for the next season!
  4. Hmm yeah that's a fair point.. Really hope he doesn't end up there!!
  5. Straight of the FTBL website in regards to Fornaroli.. Glory chief executive Tony Pignata was surprised to read reports that striker Bruno Fornaroli was also considering his options. "I'm surprised that Melbourne Victory are talking to a contracted player without advising us," Pignata said. "It's all speculation at the moment because he's still under contract with us for another season." Apparently it was for a 1 year loan? Not sure if it's still happening or not??
  6. Delbridge needs to be re signed!! Really like the way he played this season and he will only get better!
  7. Would love to see him back! What in particular about his attitude though? I mean look at McCormack when we had him.. Apparently had an attitude problem at previous clubs prior to coming to City but then with us was a ripper player. Whenever he got a set piece he would usually do something pretty special with it! Novillo was the same.. Whenever he got the ball he was able to create something most of the time which is what we lack now and have for a while..
  8. Yeah very true.. Well with Wales delivering him the ball he'd never touch it.. Unless he was back in Row Z.....
  9. Yeah true. He is also past his prime now. This season showed that..
  10. Couldn't agree more with this. I rated Genreau very highly aswell and think he will do well playing for his new club. Let's be honest apart from the likes of Novillo what other winger/wingers have we had that were consistent week in week out providing good crosses, assists and able to score also??
  11. Alot of rumours going around about Fornaroli and Victory.. From what I've read he never wanted to leave Melbourne but Joyce forced him out as such.. Although he didn't show the form this season that he had with us it would still be gut wrenching to see him playing for Victory. You have to ask if the club approached him at all about a possible return?
  12. When you break it down like that it's pretty damn pathetic!! 27 games for 3 assists and zero goals as a winger is putrid.. It's something we have always struggled with to find a decent winger apart from Novillo.. Reminds me of when we had Robert Koren.. Scored a hatrick and we barley saw him again.. Such a waste..
  13. Yeah I agree! Just hope we keep Windbichler!!
  14. It's another case of a player who until Jamo didn't return to the hub wasn't getting enough game time so honestly when you look at it he probably had his mind made up a while ago and was keeping a lid on it until after the GF. If that is the case at his age you can't blame him at all. But it is another case and point of the same old City mentality.. We consistently start guys who aren't quite up to it and keep the younger guys on the bench who actually give it a 110% when they play which is what Atkinson did the last few games and now he will go on and be a starter at Perth and will flourish and everyone will wish we kept him. Case and point look at Caceras when he came back.. Was always on the bench with us and have a look at what he did playing for Sydney.. Zullo is another one who springs to mind. I can see Genreau killing it at Macarthur too..
  15. Re signing Delbridge is a must! Depending if Jamo plays on next season or not the only positive is that we have Galloway who has shown what he is capable of. He isn't afraid to have a shot from long range either which is an added bonus..
  16. He kind of reminded me a bit like Jacob Melling when we had him. A hard nut who wasn't afraid to take on a player and would always give it his all. Shattered he is gone and it will just be our luck we keep bloody Wales..
  17. I saw this and kind of felt the same way too. I can't see much changing either. Atkinson has left and we will probably keep Wales on.. That there speaks volumes. Each season have a look at our high turnover. Also look at the players we have had that have moved onto other clubs and flourished. I mean just look at the Sydney team we played on Sunday night. 5 of there starting 11 are ex City players. Would have much rather they had given opportunities to players like Genreau, Atkinson in his early days to get more game time over someone like Robert Koren for example. Our marquess never quite cut it and we don't have a real play-maker such as a Ninkovic or Castro. It's something that has always let us down. Florin for example played well after the restart but in the Semi against Western United and then the Grand Final on Sunday it felt like he was nowhere to be seen. You have to expect more from a marquee player it's that simple. It will be very interesting considering what is going on around the World and the pay-cut situation etc going forward. No offence to the bloke at all but I really hope Wales goes. He just doesn't have it in him. His crossing is woeful and whenever he gets the ball you know he isn't going to do much.. Wish we had kept Genreau. Felt like he added something and can see him flourishing at Macarthur. Same with Atkinson. It is always the case with us. Players move on due not getting enough game time etc and go to clubs where they start regularly and end up killing it and we all sit there wishing we had of kept them. It happens season after season...
  18. So unfortunately the rumours are true and Atkinson has gone to Perth 😭 Why do we always seem to let the guys who show some passion, wear there heart on their sleeve and play well go? It happens season after season and yet we keep hold of players like Wales. No offence to the bloke but he just doesn't have what it takes to be a starter each week. Time and time again he fails and can't put a cross in to save his life. For anyone who is going to defend him he has had a few seasons now to work on it and yet still can't get it right and it gets frustrating to watch.
  19. Hope he bloody stays! He wears his heart on his sleeve and has come forward in leaps and bounds the last couple of seasons.
  20. Any truth to the Atkinson to Perth rumour? I certainly hope it's not true!! Wasn't this same rumour going around last off season? Surely we need to keep him!!
  21. Couldn't agree more with this! Noone looked good throughout the FFA cup but has since pretty much disappeared. Wales is not worthy of starting and is a bench player at best but let's be honest who else do we have that can play in that position? Something we have always lacked apart from the days of Novillo is wingers who are creative and can provide the striker with good crosses etc and to score goals.
  22. Reckon Florin needs to go. He had a brief good spell when the league resumed but the last few games he disappeared yet again. He isn’t worthy of a marquee spot that’s for sure and we inherited him under Joyce. Luna and Noone I think have their good days. It’s a shame we couldn’t see the form Noone had throughout the FFA cup. One thing we lack and seriously need to look at is a player to support Jmac. Lets be honest if Jmac was to suffer an injury who do we have to step in and replace him. No offence to the bloke but Wales isn’t cut out as a starter. He is a bench player at best who could come on with about 20 mins left to tire out the defenders. Just my opinion.
