Popular Post cadete
New chant Idea I had for Paddy Gerhardt based of "Dirty Old Town" from classic 1980's Folk Punk band The Progues. Original: Charlie Mulgrew chant: Lyrics: He can play as a mid He can play at the back Even centre half And he will not slack Wear your shin guards As he hates the tards It's Paddy Go-Hard! it's Paddy Go-Hard! Braveheart
cue anti-celtic sentiment. but honestly listen to the chant/song, it's very catchy IMO and I think it could work very well. If im not mistaken no other a-League side uses it right?
salzy
Shane Mcgowan, strong teeth.

cadete
Shane Mcgowan, strong teeth. Lol Best advert Ireland ever had to get its kids to brush their teeth. Great Music however - Put Folk right back on the map and inspired so many future acts.
Tesla
cue anti-celtic sentiment. fwiw, there is a fair few celtic influenced chants already. I dont have a horse in that race so I dont really care, but I can see it bothering some. Probably best to not have too much influence from any one source. Just my $0.02. Footballism
I don't mind it tbh. Would make a few minor changes: "He can play at the back" sounds better but that is pretty much the same as a centre half. Nitpicking too much?
cadete
TBH probably prefer what I put down... The problem I had was DM does not work well into songs.
LR9
Love it! Edit: Suggestions: He can play as a mid He can play at the back Even center half And he will not slack Bring your shin guards As he hates the Tards It's Patty Go-Hard! it's Patty Go-Hard! Hendo
Good suggestion, preference would be emu's line, but I'm not that bothered. Sounds fine as it is, dirty old down, class song. fwiw, there is a fair few celtic influenced chants already. I dont have a horse in that race so I dont really care, but I can see it bothering some. Probably best to not have too much influence from any one source. Just my $0.02. It's a player song, I really can't see people in our terrace picking this out as a celtic song tbfh. cadete
It's a player song, I really can't see people in our terrace picking this out as a celtic song tbfh. Exactly it’s a Player Song rather than a Club song. Also many more people would be familiar with the Cult Hit Song rather than the Charlie Mulgrew Chant. (Its not like many ppl even watch SPL anymore - let alone know all about Charlie Mulgrew). Edited June 26, 2012 by cadete
Libero
Love it! Edit: Suggestions: He can play as a mid He can play at the back Even center half And he will not slack Bring your shin guards As he hates the Tards It's Patty Go-Hard! it's Patty Go-Hard! what about this: He can play as a mid He can play at fullback Even center half And he will not slack Bring your shin guards As he hates the Tards It's Patty Go-Hard! it's Patty Go-Hard! cadete
So far I think this is the best: He can play as a mid He can play at the back Even center half And he will not slack Bring your shin guards As he hates the Tards It's Paddy Go-Hard! it's Paddy Go-Hard! Got to admit I prefer Paddy as I reckon it sounds better with "Go-Hard IMO". Obv I know people can accuse me of bias towards Paddy over Patty. Braveheart
What's a paddy go hard? Inb4 Cadete asks if I'm serious. Why are you asking it then?
dRoy
Because I do not know what it means. Hence me asking it. 'twas getting in before Cadete asking if I was serious, cutting to the chase of me being serious.
Libero
i think it refers to him being a defensive mid/breaker of mong's legs. hence: GO - HARD!

Flog, who even tries in years 7-11? Stop being an annoying kunt on the forums and get to a pre season game.

Footballism
Has had a few goes but never quite caught on. Make or break for this chant in Sydney, imo.
Hazzaverx
Needs the lyrics to be on those sheets I think. Also the fact that its never been stressed. It's been given a go, then faded out. Maybe if the capo teaches it? Then give it a real go
DutchPride
Hazza is right, hasn't really been taught just sung hoping people would catch on.
