Probably one of our best turnout of supporters for an away match in 3 years. Decent group of proper lads there, probably 50+ with an equal number of shirties who knew the score. Was buzzing all week hanging for the trip, and when Sunday came around it didn't disappoint. Was struggling post Hendo-sans. Massively hung over, going on about 4 hours sleep, but once we hit the airport for the 8am redeye it all dissipated once we arrived and i saw the lads there all waiting for us. The 5 of us made our way through the terminal eventually bumping into another group of 4 lads from the Los Guerreros Melbourne Division lead by the Liverpool Major bringing our mob to around 9. Couldn't have been happier. Biggest WTF moment was bumping into Ellki (dressed head to toe in footie clobber), Pav and about a dozen other ysiders boarding our flight, only to be told they were going to Sydney for a boat cruise (ffs) and not the sockah. Biggest disappoint. After touching down we maxi'd it to Westfied where we loaded up on tix for the match, before making our way to the hotel. Was in great spirits by now after downing a kebab for my hang over, and proceeded to let rip with a few songs down George street before we made it inside our accom. The 9 of us made our way up, and when we got inside we realised Buddyfarah in all his wisdom had booked 2 double beds for the 9 of us, so suffice to say we were pretty much fucked. Few lads split off to get some pre-drinks from the bottle-o, and by the time they got back the room had been turned upside down. Haven't seen a room more thoroughly raped in a short amount of time as what we did too it. Pillows torn up, stuffing everywhere, sheets pulled out from god knows where in a vein attempt to get some makeshift beds goin. After half an hour of mayhem, we realised that a couple of the sofas folded out so we were pretty much set in the first place. lol. Text came through from malloy that it was time hit the pub, which we all replied too in unison with 'ok' in the famous words of EMU. Downed a few pre's and loaded up on travelers, and off we went to the Bat & Ball. Place was pretty dour upon arrival, too many hungover cunts who'd spent a full weekend up there, but managed to liven the place up on arrival. Got some songs and beers flowing and the place was rocking. Really surprised by the turnout, probably more there on Sunday then what we get to the pub on a home game ffs. Highlights included cunts hanging off the rafters for the mob photo, and some asian driver totaling his car outside of the bat and ball. Commenced the march, the skies opened up and out came the jackets. Weather was fantastic. Couldn't have been better for an away day. There's just something about our Melbourne lads who just know the look and pull it off better then any other mob in the country. Was hilarious seeing the little Sydney dweebs who just one season ago had tried to front us in tight demin shorts and Ben Sherman t-shirts, now trying to dress like us. Sometimes it feels like Liverpool must have in the 70s and 80s with how other groups around the country are trying to mimic us after every visit we make. The noise we made coming into the stadio was brilliant, there wasn't much doubt that we had come to town and were ready to play. When I got to the turnstiles, I couldn't find my ticket so ended up pushing the attendant and jumping the gate and making a quick dash to the Away Bay in true SupaTurk fashion. Cunts were absolutely fucked inside. Not sure I've ever seen a bigger assortment of gacked and drunken fools as what was on display. The Macadamia and NW Seed & Nut crew being the worst offenders. Singing was ok, but considering the circumstances we did alright. Shared some capo-ing, before going up one nil. And as always, the team fucked it up. Not sure about anyone else, but the Away Bay at the SFS is probably my most favourite away bay in the country. You can just feel and see the history when you walk in, from Vukctree stickers, Newcastle & Wandereres stickers, to the obligatory 'Fuck the A-League' graffitti from the SUS lads over the toilet doors. Feels just like an away section should do. Exchanged a few pleasant words with some Sydney dweebs who must have got lost up our end. As always, just like previous seasons they went quite as a mouse when confronted and looked as if we'd have an easy walk back to the pub afters. Match was over now, so we got the group back together and disappeared off into the night. Not much more needs to be said about the walk back. Was proud of the way everyone handled themselves. Same mouses we'd caught before now acting like wolves with a massive pack around them. No ground was lost and the Syd lads legged it like rabbits when the Old Bill rocked up. Back to the Bat & Ball. Made talk with some Sydney scarfers there who were impressed with our numbers and style, and ended up shouting me drinks all night. Could not complain. Left after a few hours with the jug from their table and went with the Macadamian nut and sikre to meet up with another group of lads up the road. Ended up getting a free feed with everyone from some snack bar, which was giving out free sandwiches & orange juice to everyone. Must have been some promotional thing. Bummed around there, before getting a taxi back to our hotel via forumule 1 to check on the youth and see they were doing ok. Eventually got back to my hotel and realised I didn't have a card to get in. Buddy the cunt didn't reply to my texts so was stuck outside until he finally answered his phone. Go outside to get the card from him, look up and the Lebanese Rambo has jumped out of the fucking Hotel window and is hanging on the overhang with a bottle of vodka in one hand, readying himself to throw the card down for me onto the pavement. Hilarious. After getting the lift up to the apartment, and making my way through the haze in the room I realised why it took so long to get the card to me. Everyone was fucking baked. Surprised we didn't set off the hotel alarm with how much we smoked up that room. Honorable mentions go to Big Papa G and Billyheart who must have got the munchies at some point and dropped $300 on 40 kebabs for us all from the kebab store and Big Papa G Junior who ended up passed out with 2 kebabs under his armpits and and a kebab pillow as a head rest, before managing to sneak out of the room and pass out in the foyer for 6 hours. Solid effort. All in all, a great trip. Didn't reach the pandemonium of Gold Coast season 1, or the sheer joy of Sydney Away last season. But a solid 8.5 out of 10 on the enjoyment scale. To go from 15 supporters in season 1, to 40 last season to over 80 active on the weekend was great to see. Hoping to get even more next season when we make the trip up.
