  1. So the take home message from that video ......... Dozo the clown has saved more penalties than Redders
  2. You are right ... But I think a proper manager is the way to go
  3. ...duck and cover I believe you call that
  4. One player who has improved is David Williams. But that's about it. I've said it before, the manager should be the boss of all things football, who should command respect and demonstrate clear authority. Think Sir Alex, Brendan Rodgers, Aussie Gus, Ang. You don't get that with JA. SM is always out there talking about Football operations, along with JD ... It is not clear that JA rules the roost
  5. How many points do you think Heart will get, Not many, if any Not many, if any How many points do you think Heart will get Ah uh, ah-uh I don't think they we will get any
  6. Soccer Stoppage Time - 2MM Today at 02:30 We are hearing that Bernie Ibini is close to securing a release from his club in China and that he will not be heading back to CCM. It looks to be a battle between the Sydney clubs. Stealth is leaning towards SydneyFC. Stay tuned....
  7. Of course JA will continue to play him as 1st choice, giving him nice cuddles and telling him he loves him, and not to be upset because at least he is trying and he will maybe score sometime soon and everything will be ok... I don't know, maybe a message along the lines of "You better score a freakin goal or you will be dropped for the Hoff and because that is why we signed you!!! And you can forget about any contract extensions and go back to Malta ..." Our players had their backs against the wall last game and even with a shitty game plan did ok when they were desperate.... JA should get angry with some of these F$&@ers and tell them that their asses are on the line, and if they don't perform, rather than just accepting it and letting them keep their spot, they should be dropped
  8. I thought I would share something I put together a little while ago after a hearing a cool tune on a Spaghetti Western which I thought could work for some Heart footage, and also after hearing the same song used by Metallica as a their crowd warmup piece before all of their concerts. Obviously If I knew what I knew now, some of the players would not have been featured ... anyhow, for those who watch, crank it up and enjoy! (sorry about the resolution - have better but it makes the file too large for Youtube ...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=211Q-BHbNXo also, I encourage others to get creative and post ... who knows, maybe the club may play one of these videos at a game one day at AAMI ...
  9. As the league improves, with more kids coming through (with football becoming more and more popular for kids), and with a home grown Socceroos coach who will give A-League players a go, I expect that less and less young up-and-comers will head off oversees as soon as they have one good season. Also, not many youngsters have gone overseas from the A-league and had success ... even Rogic is struggling to get game time at Celtic ... so the attrition rate of younger players going overseas will most probably decline. Im not saying just play youngsters or play them solely for the purpose of selling them ... but if they are on our list they should be good enough to be given a chance, not left to sit on the bench or not even make the squad and then watch as a medicore older player, who may not naturally play in their position, get a go over them. I reckon what we will see is youngsters with A-League contracts getting chances overseas after they perform well for the National team
  10. I also was under the impression based on information garnered that JA was pretty much gone ... but alas, a stay of execution because he showed some heart and demonstrated some passion ... not by winning or by out-coaching an opponent, or by being the manager of the better team. Yes it was nice to see some Heart goals at home ... but other than our second goal, which was still created only through some quick thinking by Murdocca, our scoring was not through good build up play or superior team tactis. JA is in survival mode and by going to YS, he really did the cause of seeing him gone no good as it looked like he was well recived and that he has some level of support from Active. Also, given our supporters have been so startved of anything even closely resembling entertainment, the average punter was just happy to see some action... The reality is the result just papers over the cracks. A few years ago when we were playing attacking football and developing young kids, other clubs took notice and copied us and now these clubs do what we did, and I hate to say it, are doing it better. I hope that those who write their letters really drive these points home ... i get the feeling that some of the Board do not understand the game of Football and what we the supporters of MH actually want (and we gave mixed messages on the weekend) - that is attacking competitive successful football, where we back ourselves to beat our opponent, whilst developing talented kids who will be future Socceroos. Player like Vrankovic, Walker, Mauk, ect must be given a chance. NOT a stifling one-dimensional uninventive stagnate game plan focused for the most part on creating only through the mistakes of our opponents, with the wrong players for the system, with players played out of position and the young players with potential banished during the time of their careers when they must be playing, and with predictable subs and an inability to adapt based on the circumstance of the game. For those who listened to JAs aftermatch press interview, when he was asked about his job security and pressure, ultimately the discussion turned to ... suprise, suprise, his penalty against Uruguay and once again the topic was brushed over ... I do love this club and it is gut wrenching to see us going backwards ... thank god that there is no relegation #jaforstrikercoach (saves on the payout) #foxeforyouthdefensivecoach
  11. I think this type of formation, with some basic rules that are polar opposite to what we do now would assist in creating more fluency and options in attack... And by dropping the striker in to the midfield there would be no point in playing rubbish long balls .... Plus, I thought it would refreshing to post something other than doom and gloom .... That being said, #aloisiout
  12. Imagine something different ... This would be good to see ..... (false 9) Willow ------------------------------- Garrucio ------------------Mifsud----------------------- --------Murdocca ---------Mauk------------ -----------------Retre------------------------- Ramsay-----------------------------Walker ---------Varankovic-----Kisnorbo---------- Redmayane Bench: Behich (only cos he his down in confidence), Kalmar, Duga, Weilhart, Tando Press through the middle, play with fast passing and the ball on the ground and let the young guys attack, especially down the flanks, with Varankovic the distributor from the backline. Also, have the the wingbacks and wingers switch sides once or twice each half .... If Kewell is fit, play him off the bench instead of Kalmar
  13. A message of this type has a lot of 'craft' put into the words ... and everything is very literal. SM references that the Club is doing everything within its powers to turn things around with things happening behind the scenes. The Club is mentioned several times, the fans are mentioned, and so are the players ... but not one reference to the coach / manager ... to me this is telling. Unless we play Adelaide off the park and our win and our tactics get rave reviews, I would expect that its curtains for JA and HF.
  14. Brebner is a tard who trolled us on national TV ... unfortunately those who haven't dissected the situation will believe him ... probably including our Board. These types of statements buy JA time whilst the club continues to descend further into the abyss
  15. Based on past form, for Heart to win this one, we would need to score and win 1 nil with the last action of the game. Any sooner and we would panic and be over-run. If the Jets score 1st, forget about it... A nil nil draw would be a lucky result and I reckon JA would take it ....which probably means that we will see the same old same old... Please prove me wrong Heart FC
  16. For what its worth, the FRG (which also has some level of independance from the club) is really supportive of YS and what YS brings to the match-day experience. It was discussed at the meeting that YS (raised by FRG members not the club) has to fund and raise funds themselves to do banners, tiffos, etc. It was not put on the table that the club funds these things, but it was discussed that the wider supporter group could be made aware of this, which may lead to some additional funding to YS by the rest of the supporters, who get to enjoy what YS bring to the matchday experience. My understanding is that the club is working to get YS representation at the FRG. This would be a good thing if it happened. Also, and in response to JWs view that some supporters are only interested in what happens on the pitch ... it is obvious that the club is really focusing on other aspects during match day to particulalry appeal to families, kids and the social media savvy. i have no issue with this. The kids of today are the adult members of tomorrow. That being said, from a footballing perspective, it was discussed that we dont get enough from the coach in terms of tactical analysis, pre match discussion, player information and player development and particulary post match - hence the comment that the club could release more video interviews with the coach (specific to games) in a similar vein to what AFL clubs do. In terms of getting the whole crowd involved in something unique for Melbourne Heart, if this eventuates it could only be a good thing ...
  17. http://m.footballaustralia.com.au/melbourne-heart-news-display/article/Representative-Group-Newsletter-No.3/78650/309 Representative Group Newsletter No.3 2:49PM, Nov 21 2013 The Melbourne Heart FC Fan Representative Group met on Tuesday 12 November to discuss a number of topics, including match-day entertainment, supporter group types and increasing the supporter base of this great club. We covered some feedback on the club’s new match day initiatives including HeartZone, kid’s clinic, DJ, entertainment and face painter. This was generally positive. HeartZone is being improved and developed with new material. We suggested the clinic start time be clearly stated and face painter more prominent/easy to find. Since the first home game, the club song “So Happy Together” has been reduced in length and volume which seems better for fans to sing along to. We discussed other song ideas and a stronger intro from the MC for “When the Hearts Go marching In”. While members have different tastes in music it was pointed out we can’t change the song too often and it’s best to stick with one song throughout the season, giving people a chance to get used to it as an anthem. We looked at ways of bringing fans around the stadium together to make more noise and be more involved. For example streamers, placards, all of us standing up and holding our scarves for the club song or doing the Posnan. Clearly we want to develop a something unique to Melbourne Heart that will stick for a long time. Foxtel have been picking up too much of the away fans making them seem louder than us, which they’re not! We spoke about membership packs and what’s included. Apart from general discussion on which items people like/don’t like, it was noted the “Melbourne Heart” branding could be more visible and we should use this opportunity to really put ourselves out there, eg. car stickers are seen by a lot of people. Simple but important things like ensuring clear communication on the big screen, in newsletters and information on derby ticketing arrangements were discussed. We spoke about banners, funding and donations for Yarraside. Some of the ideas we had re: stadium and outside lighting, covering seats with our colours or visual branding were noted. It looks like the Santa hats will be back for the pre-Christmas derby (hooray!). A key topic of discussion was the new and existing supporter groups and how the club can acknowledge and assist them. A new women’s group has been set up. There’s a Dutch group and many others. In general, it’s good for Melbourne Heart to have these groups bringing together like-minded people, communities and families. Particular interest was shown in social events outside match day and more opportunities for fans to get together for away matches. There was also discussion about how to increase memberships and attendances. As a club we’d like to attract more celebrity fans. Who should we approach and how? We’d love to hear your ideas on this. It was noted there are many people in Australia who support a team in Europe/overseas but don’t follow an A-League club or wear their strip. Attracting more registered FFV members or junior football club players was discussed, as well as more corporate networking events and special offers for selected games. Concerns were raised re the team’s performance and the manager esp. post-match comments after 3-0 loss, how supporters feel and that the club should be more aggressive about not accepting poor referee decisions. The manager is obviously under a lot of pressure and we hope results turn around soon. The idea of a weekly video report or YouTube q&a was discussed. Also the possibility of one of the post-match functions being held around Christmas. The FRG will meet again in January or February 2014. What ideas do you have re. match day experience, creating more atmosphere around the stadium and attracting more members and supporters inc. celebrities? Please share any comments or feedback you have at fans@melbourneheartfc.com.au #HeartBelieve The FRG
  18. There is certainly a level of delusion sometimes...
  19. Melbourne Heart FC ... In simple terms we are a Melbourne based club, we wear red and white, we are controlled by a Board and a Chairman, we were founded in 2008 and we were the 12th team in the A-League and first played in the 10/11 season, we play at the best stadium in Australia, our business operations are run out of La trobe uni which is also our main training facility but we do train at a number of different venues, we are known for our wheelie bin ice baths, our supporters are passionate and care about the club and actively try to grow our membership and convert others to jump on board, we are a family club, we have a rednut (ticker) for a mascot, our first ever goal was an own goal, the santa hat will always be celebrated by the club, we have the excellent Yarraside as our active support, there is a good level of ongoing engagement between the club and its supporters (and we have an official Fan Rep Group), our arch rivals are the tards, we have produced some "Good" young players in our short history (and will continue to do so with our academy), we've had an excellent Fanzine in Ship Happens, we have an excellent social media presence, we have a club that practices financial prudence and strives to turn a profit ... ...and yes of recent we have been playing like crap and we just cannot win with a coach whose days are seemingly numbered... ... but we do stand for something, we stand for Melbourne Heart
  20. Thus far he is to us what Scott Mac is for the Socceroos...
  21. I love it when the players spend some time with the supporters after the game, especially YS and also all the kids who wait at the players tunnel. That being said, I'd also like to see the guys walk off together, win, lose or draw as a team, and to know that they were going to get an initial debrief from the manager whilst the game is still fresh in their minds and whilst emotions are still raw
  22. Keep JA on the books as the striker's technical coach and keep Foxe as the Defensive technical coach. Let them both be involved with the youth squad - then no payout and they can still be developed up with coaching experience. The board ultimately made the hiring mistake and as such, they need to find the money to bring in a good coach otherwise it will cost them more in the long run ... mistakes cost
  23. The board are all supposedly savvy business men ... I wonder why in all reality they took such a risk with JA. The following is a business related abstract which I'm sure they would be aware of in terms of hiring corporately ... Maybe better due diligence will be practiced in going forward "Hiring the wrong employee obviously has many costs and calculating the complete cost is near impossible. Unfortunately, the costs are felt throughout the company directly and indirecly. What can you do to avoid hiring the wrong employee? Strategically Decide to Improve Job Match - The first step to improving your Job Match is to strategically and consciously decide to raise the bar as a team and organization. Purposefully review past hires that were not a good job match and ask yourself, "What did each poor hiring decision cost us?" When you consciously do so, you will improve your "Job Match Mindset" - the first step to improving your Employee Selection Process. Do not rely on the interview - When it comes to landing a job, most candidates are incredible actors. We are not trying to imply that they are being deceitful, but rather that they will appear to be what they feel the employer is looking for in the ideal candidate. This is often not who the candidate really is and that won't become apparent for some time after he or she is already on the job and has become an emotional part of your team. (sounds very familiar) Hire for the long term - While a new hire must be logical for an organization's immediate needs, hiring talent that will drive future revenue growth and profits is always advisable. Think about where you see the position fitting into the strategic plan of the organization. Use this analysis to hire the talent that fits in with the strategic plan. An employee might be a good choice for the short term, but will he or she be right for the job in three or five years? Have a clear understanding of the position - It is far easier to hire the right talent for the job when you have a clear understanding of what success in that position entails. Benchmark the position by identifying the Key Accountabilities of the job. Hire only the best - Certainly no organization seeks to hire sub-par workers, but often do so out of a feeling of necessity to get somebody into the job quickly. What happens in three months when the employee turns out to be a dud and the process must be started over again? Wouldn't it have been better to keep looking to hire a talented candidate for the job in the first place? Having a talented workforce also drives revenue growth and ultimately profitability. Match the talent to the job - Often times an organization receives applications from highly skilled and educated individuals with impeccable backgrounds. Unfortunately, they are over-qualified or do not have the exact skill set needed for successful completion of the job. Excited with the possibility of having such an individual on the team, a job offer is extended anyways. In a tight labor market this candidate is likely to accept even if he feels it isn't quite what he or she is looking for. We all have to pay the bills right! In a short while though the new employee becomes discouraged with his position, feels the work is not challenging enough, senses a lack of opportunity for upward mobility, or just doesn't like what he is doing and leaves. With a poor hiring decision such as this, both parties suffer. Don't be afraid to pass up on these employees despite your desire to have such a talented individual on your team." Our next coach must be an outstanding candidate who IS unequivocally the head of the club in all facets of football operations. He must be a character who natural leader and who is hell bent on achieving an outcome that aligns with the founding ethos of the club.
  24. Yarraside were epic tonight...well done boys. Loved the phantom goals !! Loved the trumpet led tango tune !! Loved the moshing !! HIghlights - Yarraside - one step closer to the ineviatable ... (it has to be bye bye JA) - Del Piero giving his wristband to a young Heart supporter who couldnt believe his luck - several hot Italian honeys in A-reserve - # banner at non YS end - PG making the boys go to YS after the game - beer
