  1. Terry Antonis ... his deal may have fallen over with Parma ...
  2. Hi guys, meeting went well ... Next update on the Rep group should come via the Club within the next few weeks
  3. did anyone see / comment on the random?? tweet from Clint Bolton (14 hours ago) ... it read "I call him Andrew #pirlo" ... that was it and from what I can gather it wasnt in response to anything???
  4. ...history repeats. All the talk by the club last off season was we need a quality dm. I guess eventually this may happen in the clubs eyes
  5. jw1739.... The group still exists... FYI there was no official meeting in May with the club, however, members of the group (with the blessing of the club) have met and have been working independant from the club on a Terms of Reference, which as a DRAFT document has been sent off to the club and will be discussed at the next rep group meeting .... which just so happens to be tomorrow night. It was agreed by the majority in the group that a Terms of Reference was needed to give the group a proper purpose and to set terms on how the whole rep group process works. My understanding is that once a Terms of Reference is signed off and agreed to by the Rep group and the club, it will become a document accessible to Heart members and supporters. I intend to provide an update following the meeting.
  6. $47K ... most of the players in the reasonable leagues of Europe earn that much in a fortnight. For any established player to take the minimum wage, especially a Visa player, they must be desperate ...
  7. ... back by popular demand (and the fact that it is a long long off season!!) Here is my 1st choice at present .... go to town! ----------------------Redmayne-------------------------- Walker -----PG-------------Wielaert -----------Ramsay --------------Murdocca-----Germano------------------- Mate----------------Kewell--------------------------Willo ----------------------Golgol-------------------------------- Bench:Vranks, Mcallister, Kalmar, Garuccio, GK? Coach: JA Assistant: HF unused: Hoffman, Mitchinson
  8. Cadete, I agree with what you are saying. SM said we'd made an offer. Hopefully its been made with a clear cut off date so all parties can move on...
  9. clearly the reason many Heart supporters still want him in red and white is because he is a good player and he was our best player last year.
  10. RG is the consummate professional footballer and he would have hoped that by coming back to the A-league he would have starred to the point of being a standout in the league, resurrected his Socceroo career and put himself in the shopfront for a big dollar deal in asia. Although he was the star of our side, on reflection, things didnt work out as well as he probably hoped. In terms of the A-league, Heart had a crappy season and he didnt make the All star team. He did get another shot at his Socceroo chance in East Asia, but didn't impress enough to get a call up by Holger in the WC squad, although Archie and Milligan did, which would hurt as it shows he no longer figures in HO plans. Whats left for him in the A-league? I hope a good pay deal and offer to be club captain would be enough to get him over the line, but as some of his other aspirations seem to be closed chapters, is this really more attractive than big bucks in the middle east (that is if he can get a deal)?? Only time will tell.
  11. No... I was hoping he would give an update
  12. Basic notes from SM on SEN just now... The club did a review end of season and it was recognised that changes were needed. Happy with young player development, but still need to improve. HK arrival will be low key ...arives early next week ...1st training session Wed at AAMI with media in attendance There are 2 more major signings for to club to make ... these signings will be the icing on the cake. Next season club needs to perform and make finals. Talked about WSW ... success due to region yearning for a club and WSW success on the pitch. callers questions.... will there be 3 game memberships? yes, 3 or 5 game to be launched around x-mas time marquee needed like ADP? HK not marquee ... open to marquee ... needs to work on and off pitch, ADP 2- 3 million, Karagounis 1 - 2 million sydney still lost millions (with ADP)... Membership target this year? 7.5K target this year Why are our Training facilities/ junior development so poor (some VPL clubs have better)? FFE approved team in lower division only to be rescinded ... someting they still want to do but cant be done through FFA RG? - in Perth at the moment, want to sign him. Competitive offer put forward. Club is confident and offer is sound. Sick of Excuses. 9 Ex Victory players in our history. No Youth development Queried who the 9 players were? More young players signed overseas than any other Aleague club. Current squad player in junior WC (DV). Some of the negative comments are due to the club not winning. We want to win and do not accept failure. Why not higher than 7.5K with membeships? We have internal aspiration (higher). 7.5K is minimum must achive. Looking to get 9 - 10K JA's development? Spent time overseas Holland JVS, England. Last year was a massive high pressure learning curve. Refreshed. Support Staff will be added around him. Board wants to invest more in football department. More players, better player wages, more staff

  17. it would be funny if the Casey thing got wheels and our NY team and a (new) Womens team were training in brand new elite facilities .... with our 1st team sitting in wheelie bins, and doing hammies dodging ducks in a paddock
  18. also, this from a Casey Council Report .... Casey Regional Sports Hub and Soccer Centre of Excellence Project (CRSH) The CRSH project is proposed to be developed at Casey Fields and is noted within the Casey Fields Master Plan. The proposed facility includes the following components: 1. Regional Multi Purpose Rectangular Field Stadium incorporating a high level competition grade turf pitch field, pavilion (similar in scale to the Athletics Centre Pavilion plus additional offices/spaces to incorporate the Sports House concept), covered spectator seating, spectator mounds, car park and lighting. 2. Community Multi Purpose Synthetic Soccer Fields incorporating four synthetic turf soccer pitches, lights, pavilion, car parking and other associated works. The synthetic pitches will provide improved opportunities and flexibility of playing, training and development programs that will benefit the entire Casey and regional sporting community with a focus on soccer. The CRSH will service soccer clubs within Casey as well as serving higher level training and competition across the southern region. The project has received support from a number of elite sporting teams and State Sporting Associations (including Football Federation Victoria, Melbourne Heart A-League Soccer team, Victorian Rugby Union, Melbourne Rebels Rugby Championship team, Melbourne Storm National Rugby League team and the Victorian Rugby League). Melbourne Heart has indicated they are interested in the proposed facility as a home for their women’s and youth teams which would compete in national competitions.
  19. it doesnt .... but what it does mean is that Casey has a much greater chance of having a regional sporting / soccer facility built before Latrobe Uni
  20. yes, normally a large chunk of the pie for a project like this would be Fed, with State and LG also chipping in
  21. ALSO ... with future funding applications the following has been shortlisted to proceed to full application as part of Round 4 of the Regional Australia Development Fund. RDA Southern Melbourne - Casey City Council - Casey Regional Sports Hub and Soccer Centre of Excellence - Proceed to Full Application Overview .... Round Four is providing $175 million for infrastructure projects that address the identified priorities of Regional Development Australia committees and have a strong regional impact. Grants of between $500,000 and $15 million are available to eligible applicants. Local governments and not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of at least $1 million (averaged over the most recent two years) were eligible to apply for Round Four of the Regional Development Australia Fund. Other organisations were able to participate in the program as a member of a consortium led by an eligible applicant. Successful applications announced from Friday 12 July 2013, with funding six months after an announcement
  22. Just had a read of the Federal Budget papers .... anyone who wants to use up some minutes of their life they wont get back, check this link and read from page 161 . http://www.regional.gov.au/department/statements/2013-14/ministerial-statement-2013-14/pdf/DRALGAS_Ministerial_Statement_1314FY.pdf cant see any reference to Sports Facilities upgrades at Latrobe Uni, and all grant / funding oppurtunities seem to be exhausted for the next 3 years. Not sure what the State Gov can put on the table, but my view is that their will be no funding anytime soon for a regional sports facility at Latrobe.
  23. The notion that any player who was half decent will instantaneously make a good coach is very frustrating. Please refrain from making such assumptions in the future, TA. ...was actually taking the pi$$ based on our current and clever? coaching situation - booya!
  24. He is a quality player, but it would depend on whether JA would be strong enough to manage him .... alternatively, sign him up and make him a playing assistant manager ....
  25. The point was more that if the Active group cannot function in a manner acceptable to the club and the majority of its supporters (i.e.if there is a continuation of adverse incidents) then some supporters would rather not have an active area. Most on the rep group like / love what the Active area brings to a game. I myself, really enjoy it when YS are up and buzzing and I reckon there has been a few occasions where you guys actually got the team over the line .... just because you are hearing things you do not like, it does not mean that what is said is right or wrong. What needs to be appreciated is that there are consequences for bad behaviour, including the generation of negative perceptions amongst some fellow supporters. And yes, the bad behaviour is usually caused by only one or two bad apples, but these trouble makers (who surely are there for themselves more than the club) ultimately tar others with the same brush and that is bad for everyone.
