if anything changes closer to the game ill post it in this thread so you can keep up to date. we've tracked down a projector so hoping to make a big pullover of some description for the game.

There are quite a few cheap backpackers within walking distance of NIB. I would suggest one of those. We usually have pre game drinks at the brass monkey in Northbridge so feel free come down.

Nothing to panic about after Swansea. We gave away two stupid goals that killed us off. We probably as much father ge as Swansea in the first half. We aren't built to chase games.We are designed to keep it tight defensively and nick it by the odd goal, stupid mistakes will kill us. I am still confident we will get the results we need. Diame, diarra, Jarvis, carroll are all great signings. I think we still need a first choice cb and another winger and we well set for a push up the table. It will be hard viewing a lot of the time with the style of play though.

Quietly very excited about the way our squad is starting to shape up. Injuries, our cb pairing and ja's inexperience are the only real concerns/unknown quantities for me.

Have often wondered if our current nt squad is a result of the downturn in the nsl at the end of its tenure. There is a lack of players in their peak footballing years that would have come through around the end of the nsl and a-leagues beginnings. the lack of a stable national comp will have harmed plenty of talented players chances of making it in the game. We have plenty starting to make their way now but will be a few years before they are at international standard.

Great signing. Garcia taking over the Perth heart squad position from babalj. Confused why we are planning on playing him centrally when the main thing we are missing in te squad is a wide player who can produce dangerous crosses. Something Garcia is definitely capable of.

In that video looks like he got skinned diving in for their first goal though. May not of been him though couldn't clearly see number on back of the shirt.

Funny that shroj is probably the best option outside of grella. Should never have released him. At least his performance is bankable and you can plan around it. If gerhardt is not a guaranteed improvement he shouldn't have been signed as taking up a visa spot. I would rate a visa spot a lot more highly than an extra 50-100k that shroj might be asking for. Would be just as comfortable with us at this point in time with shroj in the squad as gerhardt and a visa spot left for a genuine cb or AM. All the more confusing if grella signs up. Why not retain shroj and sign an experienced cb not a guy who got chucked in there once for Liberia and can now claim to be an internationally experienced cb? I hope gerhardt turns out to be a boss and all is well.

I think worm was meant to be that player. Only problem was he seemed to turn inside defenders five times without actually moving past them. The only other issue with having players who can play with width is that we usually only ever had one man in the box waiting for any crosses that came in. And no one who could do any damage with their head if it did miraculously pick out the solo player in the box. Babalj with all his height rarely threatened from aerial balls. Is why I think we saw us playing with less width as time wore on. That and the fact Worm was largely gash. However, I feel Mcallister could help in this department. From my limited viewing of him in the past he does at the very least seem to throw himself about up front. How has he been aerially in ore-season albeit against kids it seems?

What formation have we been playing under Aloisi? I assume its the same 4-3-3 as under JVS. I honestly think our squad suits a 4-1-3-2 or 4-2-3-1 depending on opposition based on the players available to us at the moment (i.e. a comparative over supply of CM's and a lack of genuine wingers.) Which is a confusing situation based on the importance of having proficient wingers when playing our 4-3-3. In the 4-1-3-2 i'd have Mate playing in behind Tadic. Bolton Marrone-Gray-Colisimo-Behich Gerhardt Germano -Fred -Thompson Mate - Tadic Subs- Redmayne, McCallister, Williams, Kalmar Unused- Hoffman, Vrankovic, Gol Gol To swap to 4-2-3-1 I would just push Germano back alongside Gerhardt and Mate into Germano's RCM position and give him licence to push forward and support more with Thompson hanging back more.

Bolton Marrone- Gray-Colisimo-Behich Gerhardt Germano Fred Mate - Tadic - Gol Gol Bench- Redmayne, McCallister, Williams, Thompson Unused- Vrankovic, Kalmar, Hoffman Need to sign another left winger ASAP. Williams is not suited and Gol Gol should be back up only. I only have Gol Gol there by default. I also didnt put a recognised defender on the bench as would rather rely on Gerhardt to drop back in case of an injury at the back. Move Germano to DM then replace the injured defender with Thompson who will slot into midfield. Under no circumstances should Thompson be considered a CB replacement again, left back yes, CB no. I haven't seen Gerhardt play obviously though so it's just speculation on what has been said in the past about his capabilities. If he proves unable to play at CB then you have to put Vrankovic onto the bench in place of whichever of the three of Thompson, McCallister and Williams is the most out of form. I would just personally rather have three attacking possibilities from the bench who all offer different threats. Although on last seasons form i'm unsure what Williams threat would be.

Would be really concerned if our transfer policy was based around being better than Hoffman.

Interesting to see us trialling a few WA youth prospects. Woodcock and now mitchinson. Another I reckon we could look at is Jesse makourounous. Every time I've seen him play he has looked the goods. Including tearing our youth team apart last season. Will never get more than token minutes at glory and at this stage of his career he needs to start getting a regular look in at first team football.

Renewed my interstate membership the other day. Essentially signing up for no real benefit as will most likely be in Japan come heart's game in Perth. My cat is terribly disappointed he is unable to join up this season. Conspiracy I tell you. How can you expect to grow your membership if the humble cat can not be a part of our great club? That's over 3 million potential feline or canine members we are excluding! On a serious note would those stupid pet memberships actually have been included in our membership count last year? I sincerely hope not.

I hope kalmar does well this season. However I have a nagging feeling he will struggle for game time and be released come seasons end.
