  1. MH playing with a 9 man midfield it seems.... cant see it after signing Garcia and Grella, but tbh would still love it!
  2. Wasnt part of the issue with GC prices associated with the stadia, hence it being kept shut/ only a few K seats available due to costs? sounds like an issue to me. My point is about getting new clusb into stadiums with good deals for them
  3. I dont know, honestly assume many will be bought just before the first game, on the day of the game ect
  4. Never said it wasnt, still think it is a worthwhile investment, obviously biased but to an area such as geelong (who would play at skilled tbh) it is not worth while, but maybe someone else like on the GC or in Townsville? i dont know? It is funny that Geelong has a stadium that the locals are quite happy to lend out but really cannot service a team imo, but other places may struggle for a viable ground?
  5. No doubt he should have killed that game but at 7-1 on the tab was a good bet for first goal if i do say so........ really could have come back and made a name for himself tonight, showed he is dangerous getting out in front of defenders with a good pass
  6. where is the best place to get teams so we know who is playing?
  7. AAMI is a significant investment even though it is shared, Storm were the only club that is guaranteed to be around 5 years after it was built and AAMI cost a gold mine Us and the Rebels were barely around when it was built, MFC use it but only as a training base i think? I think in the scheme of things 50M is not much spli between a few sources
  8. Yeah it would cost more than 15M but not 75 imo, but still even 50 million if expansion could get serious? 10M Federal gov, 10M state, 10M FFA, is 30 for a start, maybe a local council ect could chip in if they will benefit form the infrastructure?
  9. I cannot find that Japanese Ryo kid in the mids or forward atm 1 day from season opener? and they have updated Ono ect. This is lazy from foxsports imo?
  10. Thats what i thought, still seems high but would have thought he has as much write as Galekovic atm Duga is a good player, better than Ibini for starters, by a far margin imo.
  11. Nichols will be 100%, i would hope Duga, matt ryan? surely cannot be that high but was an amazing keeper last season?
  12. 30- Aaron Mooy 29-Youssuf Hersi 28-Richard Garcia 27-Dario Vidosic 26-Archie Thompson 25-Bernie Ibini-Isei Surprised to see Ibini above all of those 4 tbh, anyone else? thought he had done sfa to be rated higher than Thompson and another ex socceroo/premier league/championship player ect in Garcia? Dario Vidosic....seems a major over site tbh he has scored 8 goals in 34 games....just saying
  13. And this from Mfootball http://www.mfootball.com.au/ais-youngster-signs-with-heart/
  14. I like it mate, but think it would look better if the stripes continued around the back and sides, arms tbh, do like the stripes idea
  15. If any government, FFA or key stakeholder was serious then a decent stadium could be built for a new expansion club imo. St Mirrens in Scotland for example built a new stadium in 2009 for about $15M with a 8K capacity, more than our average crowds atm basically. It is basic but does the job and being basic can be expanded upon when the need arises pretty easily. It is not fashionable but suits the rectangular game perfectly, and is in relative terms cheap as chips. http://www.footballg...d/st_mirren.htm this would suit any new expansion market as they will be smaller than the current ones, and could be quite large 10-15K for about 30M dollars, which could be made back over a short lease ect. It would have suited NQF and GC imo, Tassie.
  16. I think you have hit a pretty good argument hear. maybe it will take some time to build up some ties with overseas clubs? but i agree with the fact that you have no direct pathway to an A-league club at present and once you are there it is a matter of being "found" again. Having a strong Academy should be something Heart do, but it will take some dollars also.....but playing your way through to the NYL will be a big help. Also hopefully linking with other club. Maybe it could pull from the current VPL teams, they may not like it but give the best players for these guys under age teams a big trial then help develop them with our own coaches ect and build it up. The other trouble is unless it is an A- league wide thing, who will the first few academies play against? VPL youth teams? assuming they are the best of the best it would be like Barca ect who just dominate from week to week with their youth teams. Maybe something will come from Good and Newcastle where we can tell them hey this kid is worth a look/trial give him a go because we think he is valuable ect?
  17. no interest or opinion on the general youth of the A-league and whether it can impact our national team/ future pospects? I honestly thought it was a good topic?
  18. We kept our own, i think our goal was the more natural, Giroud will come good. Read a stat the Henry, Berkamp and RVP all struggled to score in their first 5 games. Berkamp or Henry taking upto 9 rounds to get one in
  19. I would like to see this tbh, i dont know how big a ground werribee has but would think we could get a few down at Skilled, and if i recall the profit margin at the ground is quiet strong? atleast for the cats. North Ballarats VFL ground can hold 10K so you would think Werribee would have something of a similar ilk? Ballarat and bendigo could serve as a good market for Heart amoungst Geelong
  20. Great work by the lad, hopefully this quells some of the doubt that was being suggested about his quality/fitness ect. It is all about taking your chances, confidence should be high after scoring on debut.
  21. I think Geelong could have been a great option, but i still think the fact remains, it would hurt Heart and to an extent Victory and struggle due to coming in so late on in the piece. CCM and Newcastle had the benefit of start off support, people in those area's never got access to Sydney like we have to Heart and Victory. Geelong is only just big enough in population terms before you consider that those that want to support local soccer/domestic leagues already do
  22. I live in Geelong and yeah it could of had a market, but you have too many Victory and Heart fans now. Victoria should stay as a 2 team state imo, Canberra and Tasmania would be good imo
