  1. dads mate couldnt be full of shit could he?
  2. i doubt we would consider paying 2 million tbh, or 1 million, but they have to start somewhere just like we started pretty low or what is realistic for us, if they started at what they wanted they couldnt barter into any position. I didnt realise he was contracted, i would think it is much more unlikely now, as you mention when you add up teh wages and the transfer wee we would be reaching closer to 1.5 a year atleast for the first season.
  3. Has anyone suggested Malouda? 32 out of contract, a bit left field? would be HUGE though
  4. Would fit Munn's description of the marquee as "in the Ono mold" (racist), "high-profile" and "played in the epl this season" (not still in the epl). In what way? was clearly not referring to his race when saying "in the Ono Mold"
  5. 1. When have we had any marquees, International or Australian? 2. Please tell me what was wrong with Thompson's first season and a half at the club? 3. You mean the JVS Blueprint that saw us with two teenagers as a Central Back pairing which cost points in various matches and a Home Final? (In fact we only made the finals in S2 because of the form we had when Madaschi decided to do his off season training by playing a few games for us down back.) More that we never played finals (one) with these types on our list is the thing.
  6. The master plan.. Redders Walker - Gerhardt - Kisnorbo - Ramsey Germano - Karagounis Dugandzic - Garcia - Golgol Kewell Kepper, Murdocca, Kalmar, Williams Plus a few more OS spots could make that i very competitive/dangerous side
  7. How can people not be happy, signing a great player, who is still full of quality for the cheapest we can? it is a better start than Gray for one. Also still have a Marquee/ 3 Visa spots to fill Kewell should just be the icing one our transfer window really. Also Helger Osieck rates him enough to say he is still a valued member amongst the Australian team ect
  8. The saddest part is 24 million pounds is alot more than anything Arsenal have paid for a player in their history, Villa are a mid table team obviously looking for Europa, but that is alot of money to invest on a singular player when you have such a minimal budget to play with.........some peopel should get sacked on the spot at clubs like that for making such stupid decisions..... thats not much less than what RVP was bought for ect
  9. I would say that it isnt a move which i am really excited about for Matt, but it isnt as bad as i first thought. Good club, one of the best in Belgium and a number of GK are getting found in Scandinavia ect lately, Scnezny, Courtois, MIgnolet and others so he will get found if he plays well and comes up a level
  10. So coming to Albury is a "useless community initiative"? As I said before, there is a massive football following here but many have not been exposed to the A-League before so explain to me how trying to capture that market isn't a smart idea? I think people are suggesting that it is a fair way to travel for people in Albury/Wodonga to make it to a Heart game live, where as it is 1 hour roughly from Geelong and Ballarat, This is in terms of building a supporter base. I realise that but that's kind of what I'm trying to say, if I lived in Geelong or Ballarat then I'd be able to go to every Melbourne Heart home game and I would think any passionate football fans from Geelong and Ballarat would too. But as I'm in Albury/Wodonga, I can't do that every week so by playing a game out here Heart is engaging a lot of football fans of which many don't yet follow an A-League club and this regional game might entice them to do so. Obviously the same could apply to Geelong and Ballarat but I just think reaching out to a largely ignored area where football is strong is a good move from Heart. You'd be surprised how many people do travel to Melbourne from Albury/Wodonga if they're given a reason to, it's not like we have a lot to do here ok good points made, i can see where it would be good for both cities and even so the one which may be further away

To those supporters that are worried and don't like the idea of travelling the 3-4 hours, harden up. You've got it easy. I have to get on a plane every time I want to see the red and white and made it to 5 matches last season. Which was fair to say didn't make my bank manager or wife too happy. People are saying that the regional games should be in places where it will build support to regular home games, people dont care about travel for one game, it is just if we are playing regional fixtures in places where we can build are regular attendance and membership ect Also well done on your dedication in supporting the Heart cause, 5 games form interstate is HUGE props to you friend
  12. I think you may be right, but to think people dont already have a team in Geelong is silly. The league has been round for the better part of a decade, i have a team, my mate at work follows heart, i have seen people come into work who follow Both teams, the same in Ballarat as i am from there. Forum members are also from Warnambool ect. I think Geelong should have been set up (if at all) during the inaugural year , like Heart should have, they did it in Newcastle and CM but ignored Victoria blindly, it would take a generation to turn fans imo, as the ones who really want to follow the sport are.

  14. bent signed a 4 year 18m pound deal in 2011 so i doubt he will be available on a free
  15. he would not sign for 50K imo now that he is "fit"
  16. He WILL get a contract at CCM if he wants it. I heard he made adeal with Arnold that if he scored 13 or so goal or something silly he got a new deal (this seemed unlikely) but he smashed that, Was in the media i think leading up to the time he scored it, anyone else hear this?
  17. Robbie Kruse is probably our most promising Socceroo and is playing pretty well in the Bundesliga, why would he ever come back to the A-League!?!? and scoring in the bundesliga
  18. The issue with Willo on our books atm is that he was our third highest paid player. That is the issue, he isnt worth 175K or whatever he is rumoured to be on
  19. An emphatic 'no' from me thank you very much. We need four quality players, two defenders and two midfielders if we are to be competitive next season. We do not need players culled from other A-League clubs. Haven't we learned that lesson yet? Already other clubs are cutting deadwood harder then we are. I'm getting despondent again. We announced signing Ramsey after Adelaide got knocked out, Maybe we are targeting players from the teams currently playing in the final 4?
  20. surely he was good enough last year to warrant a decent wage, nothing bank breaking but he is better than minimum, much better
  21. Mentor

    Nicky Carle

That's what I thought. I thought he just went overseas on a loan and it was already announced that he would be playing with sydney this coming season Has been said else where but how can they afford, Marquee = ADP Aust Marquee = Emerton and Carle? That is alot of $$$$$ in 3 spots, they would of h ad him this year imo if they wanted to pay all 3
  22. I thought Bresciano was pretty poor before he hurt his knee tonight anyway. Could not hit a pass
  23. Redmayne Walker Gerhardt ??????? ??????? ???????? Garcia ????????? Dugandzic Babalj Golgol players to keep on the bench Vrankovic, Williams, Garuccio, Kalmar, Tadic Vrankovic and Kalmar can start if they are good enough/consistent enough, but their positions are open imo I like both Williams and Garuccio, but i think we can rotate the wingers, I prefer Babalj but if Tadic is better select him Sign a good quality CB (Madashi), CDM ?????, and another playmaking box to box midfielder to fill the gaps
  24. So, um... has anyone actually SEEN Bresciano play lately? Or are we assuming he's still as good as he was in 2006? Yep i have no idea, i would take the known in Garcia atm (as Australian Marquee), he is one of the best players in the league. But gun for both of them, Bresciano to Replace Fred in Midfield. I still believe signing good internationals will be the difference, replace Fred with a Broich/Flores/Carrusca type Germano is below what i want from an international position, you get a handful of spots so we need to use them appropriately and high quality players who will be the difference, not role players like Worm and Germano, and below standards like terra, Maicon
