Yep Melburnian, i havnt signed them up, but i have brought about 8 different people to games this year over the journey, 1-4 of them are chances of joining next year imo. And the point is if everyone brings someone or signs someone up we double in size, 1 person isnt hard imo, its easy in fact, find them bring them and we grow as a club. Could be a slogan in the future that, "find them, Bring them, Sign them"

Ask them to change our badge to look like the roundel at the top of this forum. Just change the "supporters" to "football club" So how did tonight go anyway?
-
no not at all, i think people are getting off the Eli wagon far to early

Round 23 | 2:30pm Sunday, March 3rd | Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

Is a solid bench when we have a fit squad -
they won, really gotta be impressed with this club tbh, well done, any club should be able to be this successful in the A-league. Free agency and salary capped market.
-
Totti is just an example, any player like him should be the ultimate aim, no point floating in middle ground with a "Marquee" who doesnt provide the absolute draw imo is point, names are names nothing more
-
+1, except totti wants another roma contract He hasnt had the offer from Heart yet , but seriously of course he does and odds are they will give him a year really but he would be great and he is really the same type of character which will focus the eyes of the non die hard soccer fan in Australia.

I would argue Vranks gets caught out every 2-3 games in situations defensively which Colosimo doesnt imo, i think Colosimo is better than he gets credit for, Vranks needs to get a spot next year however. I find it funny that we can play Gerhardt in the DM role but havnt even though all 3 have been fit and we lacked that role, given he grew into the CB role and is our most important back now it is understandable. Is the arguement that Colosimo and Vranks are to short to play together yeah? -
I think this topic is both useful and appropriate, if your not interested then dont look at the thread, the fact that you are suggest you have interest but dont agree with direction and popular opinion. We looked at beckham so are obviously keen on a "good" fitting marquee player. What we would have offered Beckham would be significant so saying players are out of reach is wrong imo, it is just whether it can be justified imo is the question. I think a good amount of money on a player like Raul or Totti would be ideal and would work on and off the pitch. Otherwise spend the money on recruiting what we always try and do, but high quality youthful internationals (more than 1) players of Garcia's and Broich or berisha's quality who will make us succesful through results which really is a better option in the long run. my opinion on the matter

This, if the FFA didnt learn that the league isnt ready for 2 more smaller market teams then i will be pretty upset. let the 10 teams grow, profit then look at 2 more teams in atleast 4-5 years imo if not longer. I think if you add a team they should have the potential to be 15K crowds at some point, and i dont see Tasmania or Canberra doing that personally.

Totti would be smart $$$ imo both on and off the part, although i read he is being offered another contract at Roma.... he would be ace

I'm one of Kalmar's biggest fans. But that is very incorrect. Think about from the Sydney Away game until now. For the times that he has been on the field he has barely put a foot wrong. Only other player that you could mount an argument for would be Willo & Garcia. Thats it, he has been great but hasnt played enough of the year to be the best over the course of the season, that is Garcia he is our best player but Kalmar is great and will only get better, tie the kid up with a 3+ year deal
-
Australian Marquee imo, he is worth it, he is top 3-5 players in the league atm
-
Priority atm should be signing up Garcia for next year, then Kalmar, then Williams, but i agree a player like Carle would be good for us, i think Fred is nearly finished, but might be able to play one more year like he is now (off the bench). Fox website mentions that Corey Gameiro is linked with a Melbourne or Sydney team and we have been linked to him in the past, Fulham player on loan at Wellington atm, scored 6 goals for Australias U20's so far so he might be on the radar? not really a marquee type though. ,

Great attendance today, but what does teh figure of 14K tell us? Is this the actual number of football fans who will turn up and watch a Marquee? or are there more who we can still interest into watching football? As we always say winning will put bums on seats but i would have thought that this ADP game will be a tell tale signal of what a maximum crowd average can be currently if we convert a large number of give them a reason to join? What is everyone else's thoughts on this? if they wernrt there today do they like football enough to commit as a member?

i generally get to games late due to work and either travelling from Ballarat or Geelong last game i was standing in the bay next door upfront as the main bay was full when i arrived, the front couple of rows do get standing but after that less people get involved. i was just saying we should try and get as large and area active as possible with so many new fans experiencing a game for the first time when ADP is here.
-
I agree, i was meaning that it has been hard when i sit in the second bay with friends when half of it is sitting is all, if we can get the whole second bay standing and singing next to the main bay
-
should i buy my guests tickets now or will we be right next week? just GA next to yarraside?
-
This is well needed and gives both a face and community engagement that heart is about. They're hopeful of getting numbers through the clinics, etc. Did you know that the heart bus takes kids to excursions and the like? Ideal if you're a local coach at a kids club, etc. We can certainly drum up interest in this manner but the moment is building up that #OneMelburnian at a time. would be nice to have a Melbourne Heart tram ect floating around the CBD, or two dont know the costs but seems smart imo. Also i have a chance to convert 3 or so maybe for guys to Heart for next season at the Sydney game, big biscuits, i will post it somewhere else but we need a BIG active support, i think alot of the Euro snobs ect might be surprised by the atmosphere that the Yarra create and how good it is to get involved, maybe something can be done to get teh second bay going when it is so busy at a big game like this?
-
Colosimo last few games for the club have been solid, why would we not give him a new one year contract? Centre Halves dont grow on trees and as the Gray Dilemma has shown you need more than two good one's on a A League list so there is no reason why we cant have Neil, Colosimo and Vranks in our squad. with Gerhardt playing Midfield? or gone?
-
I dont see how clubs can be expected to build a serious following when they can yoyo from pro to semi pro quite easily. i know a number of (local) sports like cricket to promotion relegation over a 3-5 year period, ie if you are the worste performing team over that period then you are relegated ect not just a one of season from hell ect It could kill franchises which took a decade to build imo, no need apart from to compete in the AFC.
-
would be good but as said for how long? is 34 or 36 already
-
Yeah i think this could be a big game for heart, i have a couple of soccer snobs coming, starting a 3 but will hopefully double that atleast before next week
