That article is the only one that I have seen where a Heart official is quoted. So I would take that to be closer to the truth than all the other stuff. JD specifically mentions doing the best for the Eli and the clubs (plural). My guess is that there will be a return of a part of the monies already paid - just a hunch. There is no point in Heart screwing Red Star and the clubs ending up bitter towards one another.

Typical human behaviour I'm afraid. Look at any tennis court around the place and you'll see people playing on it. A week after the AO the courts will be deserted until next year. People are always fascinated by the big event.

Perhaps not, but isn't it in our interests to trial young players on a regular basis? Irrespective of the positions that they play in? Rather like CCM we're never going to compete on $ terms, so we have to look for our talent in a different way from many other clubs.

His first half in the youth game, he was just ok. His lack of movement is a worry. Looks like his body struggles now. I wouldn't be surprised to see him let go by mutual consent. Flawed signing IMO. Not quite at A-League level. Two young children AFAIK, so I doubt he'll just retire, so it would be up to us to find somewhere to move him on to.

Pretty much agree with the most of the comments about last night's game. Except I wouldn't have been quite so effusive in my praise of Thommo. And we seemed to get the wobbles about 5 minutes before half-time and about 10 minutes from full-time. Fortunately Adelaide were pretty impotent up front. Very disappointed with Kalmar. But overall one of my top 5 games at home over the three seasons so far. Hard to single out players, but top marks to Garcia and young Walker - great combination. Great work at the Yarraside end. Actually like the song. Works well, but did they stuff up the timing? Just get rid of the word 'blue' from the lyric. Overall a great evening.

Richard Garcia was signed for one season only. So before we make him captain we will need to re-sign him. He's 31, will be 32 in September. I hope we can sign him for another 2-3 years. Whose our first highest paid player? Last season our highest-paid player was reportedly Simon Colosimo on $214,000 p.a. Fred was on $200,000 p.a.
