  1. I noticed that as well, might just be victree trolls. I assume lb for Garuccio, as Mabil play's forward and have been on at the same time. Sounds like he got plenty of game time and did alright, got an assist as well.
  2. Haha, yeah.....ahaa .....sorry mate.
  3. Second game, Muak wins a free, leading to a goalMabil and De Silva Spark Australia’s Comeback Victory Against Chile CARSON, California (July 16, 2014) – After surrendering four straight goals following an early 2-0 lead, Australia scored three straight, sparked by Awer Mabil’s second-half brace and Daniel De Silva’s 90th-minute go-ahead goal, to beat Chile 5-4 to open Day 2 of the 2014 National Training Center Invitational at “Mooch” Myernick Field on Wednesday. Coming on as a sub in the 63rd minute of the U-20 event with Australia trailing 4-2, Mabil made an immediate impact and scored twice in four minutes to tie the score. He tallied a stunning goal in the 75th minute to draw Australia back to within one at 4-3. After midfielder Stefan Mauk was fouled roughly 10 yards outside the box, and Mabil took a free kick that sailed over the wall and into the upper right corner of the goal, freezing the Chile defense. Mabil struck again in the 79th minute to draw Australia even at 4-4. Forward Brandon Borrello held the ball near the left corner after a long build-up and then laid the ball off to Mabil on the right side of the box. His right-footed shot crossed the goal and nestled inside the left post to tie the score. Mabil also created the chaotic sequence that led to the winner. His shot in the 90th minute hit the right upright, deflected to the left across the goal and De Silva slotted home the rebound to earn the 5-4 lead that held up through stoppage time. Mabil’s heroics were required after Chile came storming back from a 2-0 deficit to score four straight, seizing control of the match with a 4-2 lead in the 71st minute. Four different players scored for Chile in just over 30 minutes as Chile netted goals the 40th minute, the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time, the 49th minute and the 71st minute. After falling behind 2-0 in the 38th minute, Chile got back in the game just two minutes later when Ivan Pardo won the ball near the edge of the box and chipped Australia goalkeeper with a goal to cut the deficit to 2-1 when Ivan Pardo won a ball near the edge of the box and chipped past Australia goalkeeper Paul Izzo toward the right corner of the net. Chile got its equalizer during first-half stoppage time when Cristian Cuevas converted a penalty kick. Chile then took the lead in the 49th minute as Bryan Carvallo finished a frantic sequence in front of the Australia’s goal with a header into the right corner on the rebound of a blocked shot. The lead reached 4-2 when Christopher Dias deflected a cross from Carvallo into the right corner of the net, a margin that seemed comfortable with just 19 minutes left in the match. Marc Marino and Devante Clut scored Australia’s first two goals of the game in the 16th and 38th minutes, respectively. With two victories, Australia now has six points, tying the U.S. atop the standings in points but sitting in second place on goal differential. The two squads will meet on Friday, July 18, at 7 p.m. PT at StubHub Center in the finale of the NTC Invitational. Chile will take on Bermuda in the first match of the day at 4 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ussoccer.com. -2014 Men’s National Training Center Invitational Match Report- Match: Australia vs. Chile Date: July 16, 2014 Competition: 2014 Men’s National Training Center Invitational Venue: U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center, “Mooch” Myernick Field; Carson, California Kickoff: 1 p.m. PT Attendance: 75 Weather: 83 degrees, sunny Scoring Summary: 1 2 F Australia 2 3 5 Chile 2 2 4 AUS – Marc Marino (Devante Clut) 16th minute AUS – Devante Clut (Jaushua Sotorio) 38 CHI – Ivan Pardo 40 CHI – Cristian Cuevas (penalty) 45+5 CHI – Bryan Carvallo 49 CHI – Christopher Dias (Bryan Carvallo) 71 AUS – Awer Mabil 75 AUS – Awer Mabil (Brandon Borello) 79 AUS – Daniel De Silva 90 Lineups: AUS: 18-Paul Izzo; 15-Scott Galloway, 3-Daniel Alessi, 2-Shayne D’Cunha, 5-Riley Woodcock (16-Ben Garuccio, 63); 11-Jaushua Sotorio, 21-Chris Naumoff (8-Awer Mabil, 63), 22-Liam Rose (10-Stefan Mauk, 46), 6-Hagi Gligor (capt.) 4. First game Garuccio sets up Muak. Though Mabil sounds like he is going to have a good season Mabil Brace Leads Australia to 4-1 Win Against Bermuda in NTC Invitational CARSON, California (July 14, 2014) – Australia forward Awer Mabil scored twice and contributed an assist to lead the Australia Under-20 Men’s National Team over Bermuda 4-1 in the opening match of the 2014 National Training Center Invitational. Australia dominated the ball for the majority of the game and outshot Bermuda 17-4, with seven shots on goal. With the score tied through the first halftime, Australia took a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute when Mabil scored his second of the game, which would prove to be the game-winner. Hagi Gligor played a through ball to Daniel De Silva on the right side, and he passed it to Mabil for the finish. Mabil got Australia on the score sheet in the 23rd minute, scoring from the left side after receiving a pass from Brandon Borello. Mabil’s shot was deflected by Bermuda keeper Jahquil Hill before bouncing into the goal. Bermuda caught a break in the 41st minute when Australia recorded an own goal to tie the score at 1-1. Defender Scott Galloway deflected a pass by Bermuda that ended up getting by keeper Jordan Thurtell. Australia put the match out of reach with two goals in second-half stoppage time. Marc Marino extended the lead for Australia to 3-1 with a goal in the second minute of stoppage time off of a Mabil assist. Stefan Mauk then scored just one minute later when he received a pass from Marino and chipped the ball over the keeper for the finish. Australia tested Bermuda’s defense from the very start. In the 12th minute, midfielder Ben Garuccio shot from the left side and Hill blocked it with two hands. Australia almost broke through in the 16th minute, but Mauk’s shot from near the penalty mark hit the upper right corner and deflected over the goal. Mauk was set up by Garuccio, who dribbled into the box on the left side to free up Mauk before dropping a pass to the middle of the box. Mabil was Australia’s top offensive catalyst, and he had an opportunity for a hat trick early in the second half. Mabil’s one-timer off of a cross in the 58th minute required an alert kick save from Hill to prevent Mabil from scoring a third goal and keep the score tight at 2-1 at the time. Though Bermuda was out-shot dramatically, the team did hang around toward the end, including a second-half scoring chance from Zaire Burchall, who shot from just outside the box from the right side and forced Australia goalkeeper Thurtell to make a leaping save. Australia returns to action against Chile on Wednesday, July 16, at 1 p.m. PT, the second day of the tournament at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center. Bermuda will then play the U.S. squad at 4 p.m. later that day. -2014 Men’s National Training Center Invitational Match Report- Match: Bermuda vs. Australia Date: July 14, 2014 Competition: 2014 Men’s National Training Center Invitational Venue: U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center, “Mooch” Myernick Field; Carson, California Kickoff: 3 p.m. PT Attendance: 75 Weather: 80 degrees, sunny Scoring Summary: 1 2 F Bermuda 1 0 1 Australia 1 3 4 AUS – Awer Mabil (Brandon Borrello) 23rd minute BER – Own goal (Scott Galloway) 41 AUS – Awer Mabil (Daniel De Silva) 55 AUS – Marc Marino (Awer Mabil) 90+2 AUS – Stefan Mauk (Marc Marino) 90+3 Lineups: BER: 1-Jahquil Hill; 2-Oliver Harvey (20-Mauriq Hill, 70), 3-Terrance Webb, 4-William White (8-Jibri Lawrence Salaam, 83), 6-Dakai Grant, 7-Jaz Ratteray Smith (15-Zeiko Lewis, 83), 10-Rai Simons (9-Zaire Burchall, 62), 16-Jaylon Bather, 17-Willie Clemens, 18-Lejaun Simmons (capt.) 5. Quote: NAC Breda offers Paul Katsetis no contract. The 18-year-old Australian midfielder has trained more than a week with the Brabant and made a reasonable impression, but gives the club to have other priorities. "Paul is a good player, but strengthening the selection position is not a priority "says technical director Graeme Rutjes against BN De Stem . Katsetis played in the past for AEK Athens and Catania, though he is still waiting for his professional debut. NAC hopes center defender Aleksandar Damcevski or capture . Both sides have been discussing a collaboration. The 21-year-old Macedonian this month was a week on trial at the Pearl of the South . Last season played for Chernomorets Burgas in Bulgaria Damcevskihttp://www.fcupdate.nl/voetbalnieuws/258803/nac-hoopt-damcevski-te-binden-katsetis-kan-gaan/ I don't know too much about him, but he's a young Aussie who impressed at Mac Breda Dutch side. Could be worth a look at in the least in Manchester, it's only a car drive away.
  6. I think Garuccio's first nature is in attack, I hope he isn't lumped with LB (square peg, round hole) becuase of opportunity otherwise.
  7. I support Hannover96, who has a long partnership with ManU, I lived with a chick who was city and did me over. Such is life, it bothers me a bit, but not enough to be reasonable about it.
  8. Postecoglou won two trophies as coach with Sth Melb. . This plonker has done what? And travelling to Bayern and Barca for a few weeks and watching in on the Socceroos will which achieve what? Haha I get it, fuck all, or the devolution of our club. At least he is looking to learn is all, I am not one tohold a grudge. I hated him as our coach, not as a person, just playing the ball, not the man.
  9. Yeah but after the Fozzy vitriol he received, he was much on the outer. But yeah, pretty different but a bit of perspective never hurt right? I just see the Aloisi era as it was, painfull and distressing, but it's gone now and just a dull ache. Time to move on to greener pastures, as he will be looking to do as well.
  10. Ask any out-of-work coach throughout the football world where they'd most like to go in search of fresh ideas and new skills ahead of the next job and Spanish giants Barcelona would surely be one of the dream destinations. For most aspiring young tacticians it would remain exactly that - a dream. But circumstances have conspired to present John Aloisi with direct access to the technical department at Camp Nou and the training fields at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, the state-of-the-art successor to the famous La Masia. Newly appointed coach Luis Enrique has been joined at Barca by his Celta Vigo colleague Juan Carlos Unzue, a close friend of the former Melbourne Heart boss from their playing days at Osasuna. And when Goal Australia caught up with the 38-year-old on Saturday, the former Socceroos striker revealed his plan to prepare himself for a return to management. "Keep on educating myself, keep on learning," he said. "I'd love to get back into coaching when the right opportunity comes about. Hopefully I'll be able to get back in. "For the time being, (I'm going to) visit different clubs. I went to Europe for four weeks and visited a few clubs over there, got to see the way they work. "I visited Celta Vigo and watched the way they play. My mate (was) assistant coach, Juan Carlos Unzue, he's gone now to be assistant coach at Barcelona. "He invited me back there to watching training and go watch some games. I'll definitely make time for it." Goal Australia then playfully suggested Aloisi could even seek to join the new backroom staff at Camp Nou. "I'll put the cones out," he said with a smile. Aloisi attended Socceroos training this weekend as a guest of head coach Ange Postecoglou, his former rival from their time at Heart and Melbourne Victory respectively. "I got in contact with Ange a while ago to see if I could come and watch training and he's been very open," he said. "I'll go watch training tomorrow and see how the boys are going. "To see how the Socceroos are going (but also) to keep on learning. Everyone's got different ways of playing and different ways of doing things, to see Ange's way. He's been one of our most successful coaches in history in Australia and to see him work is good." There was a reminder for Aloisi out on the field of the capricious nature of professional coaching, as Ante Milicic, the man he beat to the Heart job in 2012 and now Postecoglou's assistant, took the lead in preparing the national team for the World Cup in Brazil. While Aloisi's first stint as head coach ended in disappointment and dismissal, Milicic's stock has continued to rise, with Postecoglou headhunting him after two stellar seasons with Tony Popovic at Western Sydney Wanderers. Two years Aloisi's senior but yet to get a taste of the hot-seat himself, Milicic certainly has no complaints about the way the cards have fallen, as he gets ready to lock horns with his counterparts on the coaching staff of Vicente Del Bosque and Louis van Gaal. "With Melbourne Heart that's in the past, it happens," Milicic said. "Football always changes. I've learned one thing; not to look too far ahead. The situation has fallen right for me at this stage of my career." http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/4038/exclusive/2014/05/24/4837210/barcelona-to-re-launch-aloisis-coaching-career?ICID=HP_HN_1 Good on him, I don't wish him any ill and if we remember one Ange Postecoglou, he had a bad stint as well at one time, now look where he is through perserverance and hard work. I'm not saying Jonny will be as good as Ange, but it's good to see him determined and putting in to learn.
  11. In 1972 the eurovision winner was Vicky Leandros, with the unparallel hit - Apre`s Toi, you all remember I'm sure. Leandros - Leandro So in June it will be announced Leandro will sign with us from Palmeiras.
  12. As goalie coach? It's just that his b'day is 1972, nothing else is a motivator for my assumption, other than his contract is up at chelski.
  13. Will be interesting if it is, see how Verbeek's words stack up, `that it's better to train at a big Euro club, than play in the ALeague.'
  14. After letting the thought bounce off a couple of brain cells, I agree with both of you. He realy hasn't made a huge impact at Dortmund, though it would be hard to break into conceivably, even with all their injuries this season they had.
  15. I'm sure Amini has a couple more years to go in Dortmund, plays regular for the reserves and been on the bench for a few POKAL games. I think he will be staying where he is, unless a surprising loan comes about.
  16. It's a bit dissapointing, but we never got any footage other from MFootball (Victorian focused football site) anyway haha. Maybe we can get an inside scoop?
  17. If Hannover don't sign Mame Diouf, can we have him?
  18. Bolton XI means a team of 11 players (hence XI in Roman numerals) from across their various squads. In practise it will mean a mix of reserve players, their best youths and maybe a handful of first teamers who need the match fitness. Bolton is maybe 15 miles from Manchester. I'll mention the match on Bluemoon, you might get a few dozen City fans there. Do you think there is a chance of some youtube footage or something? Would be pretty interesting to see how it all goes.
