  1. Here's the link to what I remember seeing. Reference to a Victory team accepted also. http://www.melbournecityfc.com.au/article/news-melbourne-city-fc-nyl-accepted-into-victorian-npl/vwa6yma8mga31va4cujgy28fd
  2. Bela, weren't we just recently granted a team in the Vic NPL for next year? Pretty sure that was on our website, but only one from memory though.
  3. No way. The boy has been our one shining light this season, why on earth would you want to burden him down with captaincy... Going through the current team and as absurd as it may sound too some, Hoffy actually comes into consideration. Not sure who else is standing out at the moment. Perhaps that sums up our current situation - no leadership off the ground and no leadership on it.
  4. If they sit back and let us have all the ball, we won't win. If they push high and try and take some initiative, the game will open and we will have a better chance of winning. This is where we are at right now.
  5. true, but i'd take him in a heartbeat over our existing LB Interesting, isn't it. We have no fullbacks so we try converting midfielders and strikers into them. Sydney are producing young fullbacks, allowing them to then play someone like Abbas as a winger now.
  6. Yep. For mine, junior development is absolutely paramount to ensure football succeeds in this country. Without it, we'll forever be stuck with a crap league and crap NT. Even though it's the writer's opinion in that article, it's still a concerning comment. Seriously hope there will always be coin to develop our future.
  7. Totally agree on the second point. If he won't change formation, at least please swap these guys around so they are on their natural foot. Countless times we could have got the ball in quicker if the player was on his preferred foot instead of taking the extra touches to cut back in. Please jvs, at least try this! Disagree on the penalty though. Irregardless of whether Duff should have scored the first time (and fuk he should have), Janjetovic made the decision to stand up vertically knowing full well where Duff was, instead of diving forward to gather the ball. He knew exactly what he was doing and that was obstruction and should have been paid. But saying that, it is against Sydney and considering what happened last year when they allowed a player (ADP) to put both hands up in front of his face and punch a ball away, then it's hardly a surprise it wasn't paid.
  8. Not Ramsay on the first goal last night. He was just trying to get forward and overlap when Miller gave up possession too easily. Was a combo of Miller, Redmayne and Kisnorbo.
  9. Redders did fuck up tbh, but two others were more culpable. Ramsay just ran alongside Ibini with out doing anything and allowed him to put in the cross whilst Kisnorbo left Janko unmarked. IIRC Miller was also dispossessed to start the whole thing off. Ramsay had overlapped when Miller coughed it up in the middle. It was Miller that was running along side Ibini allowing him to cross it in. Absolutely agree that Kisnorbo was more culpable. He was running with Janko and then bizarrely made a decision to cut back into the middle of the box towards Redmayne before realising that he read it wrong and then had to double back - by then Janko had a few metres and it was good night. Really disappointed in Kisnorbo all night tbh. Think he would have been under way more scrutiny if it wasn't for Weilart's brain lapse at the end there.
  10. Unfortunately Koren and Kennedy being unavailable at the moment are his saviours. As woeful as the back half are, the inability to fashion anything creative in attack with all that possession is killing us. Until they play, he'll stay... and that's so sad at the moment because it is so easy to coach against us. Just sit back and patiently wait to counter... and hope you can defend our set pieces. So obvious to me tonight how badly we need a #10 who can unlock these defences, because we cant rely on Mooy's killer balls every week. I really hope Koren is the answer... because I think jvs and half the club arent.
  11. a bit of karma police is good, not sure about it in porno jazz though!
  12. Is that Mauk training out there with them(subs)? can't quite tell...
  13. Hmm that's terrible for him, he's been flying this year. Hope he comes back ok. Hopefully that will leave Sydney a little flat, though still think we can beat them anyway.

    Aziz Behich

B hard pushed to beat japan if they going round on motorbikes Brilliant, thanks for that. I'll add it to my 'dad joke' list!

    Aaron Mooy

At least he showed nice composure with the limited touches he had, unlike Nicholls...........

Yeah he's doing well. Getting tough now though, Honda's starting to really get involved.
  17. Mabil is a cracker. From what I have seen of Sydney games this year though, I actually think Ibini has regressed a little. He looked great with his speed in those CCM counter attacks, but not sure if he is the best fit at Sydney. This may change in time but not convinced by him yet. Anyway, who cares about those blokes... I get what you're saying though, it's a worry when you break down our team to its individual parts.
  18. Disappointing for mine. Would have been refreshing to hear: "we just fucked it up in the end. we should never have let them equalise".
  19. because he was fukd and brown wasn't bad when he came on. players panicked when they didnt need to. should have been 5-0. Brown was fucking terrible. Whole dynamic changed when he came on No, their first goal changed the dynamic. Up until then they were just playing in hope to get something.
  20. If anything positive is to come out of yesterday's debacle is this team surely must now be pissed off at themselves and actually go out there on Saturday and give it their f*ing all. Yeah, their confidence would have taken a battering, but it's now time to prove themselves. If they have any pride, they will come out breathing fire - for 95 minutes, not 20.
  21. Weird watching their first goal from directly behind Trifiro. I'm not sure how well positioned that wall was because there seemed to be acres of space to their left and hence to Redmayne's left, which is probably why he was guarding that side more. ..but having said that, there also seemed to be plenty of space over the wall and to the keeper's right. It just looked like it was always going to be a goal from the moment he stepped up.
  22. the ref is entitled to allow play to go on if a goal can be scored, 3 minutes is only ever a rough indication not always the exact time Watching the replay Hutchinson strikes at 93:02, not in the 94th minute. Nothing to complain about here. Not that it actually matters, but that is the 94th minute..
  23. Tesla you are wrong!! It is down to the team as a whole if you win, lose or draw! A manger can do very little when the team has crossed that white line.....it is then up to the players to put his plan into operation. Of course the manager can get messages across to change things around, but it is still up to the players to implement his orders. Taht is why it is a team as a whole that is at fault if you throw a 2 goal lead away. I am not saying JVS tactics are right, but you just can't absolve the players of all responsibility. What we lack is a leader on the pitch, that has become very clear to me this season. Wait until JVS is gone, ad we'll see what happens. I'm confident things will turn around pretty quickly. Just exactly like what happened last year when jvs came back in. All of a sudden the same blokes were world beaters. It would just be a temporary fix.
  24. listen I get what you're saying but these guys are fucking pros and at some stage they need to take accountability.... and it's all too easy to sit and blame the coach when this shit happens. same thing also happened with JA. I agree, he's not a good coach but ffs, they should have shut this game down.
