    Our Squad

Average age of our bench was 21 apparently...
  2. Agree here. Watching the replay, there wasn't anything he could do with the third goal as he was already diving to his left. Did look retarded flapping his feet at it, but couldn't do anything else. The fifth goal however - he should have just taken the prick out and broken his legs. Would have been a win/win for everyone.
  3. Hope you still have your wallet...
  4. I said defensive liability, when Victory had the ball it was 11 men against 10, and I don't think anyone can deny that? Didn't pressure the ball carrier when in his vacinity, didn't track back to give any assistance to Ramsey (not making excuses for Ramseys terrible performance either, hes a shit left back and thats a fact), didn't put in a second effort when losing the ball. He was a passenger last night, especially when the going got tough in the 2nd half. And if his performance was affected by his lack of motivation as a guest player which i'm sure it was, then thats not really good enough either to be fair. Thanks for that Captain Obvious (couldn't resist). Anyway disagree. Defensive cover needs to be provided firstly by Paartalu then either Mooy or Murdocca. Without watching the replay from what i recall i don't think Galloway left his half, nor did Georgievski on Duffs side, both played super defensive roles, which tbh they should have having to mark Villa and Duff respectively. Therefore I don't agree with notion of playing 11 behind the ball ever, to me its pointless. It gives the team with ball nothing to worry about. At the very least you need 2 defenders marking Villa at all times. On several occasions Villa took up extreme good positions but we couldn't hit him and to me that what's the frustrating thing for him, it looks like he's cheating and not working back, but IMO he shouldn't. Spot on, in no way should Villa be criticised. When in the second half did we actually get him the ball in a half decent position? Also as already said before what is jvs obsession playing him on a wing! I don't think its a mistake playing Villa wide left, what is a mistake is playing Duga as the no 9. If the intention was/is a traditional no 9 he's out of his skill set (Duga that is), if its as a false 9 then he also failed. For the record the false 9 is a bullshit position that can only be played by an extremely technical and gifted player and should be avoided at A league level at all cost. Totally agree here - thought he was so creative on the left cutting back in. If he had a proper #9 to link up with, it would have been a different story. Hate the false #9 too.
  5. You can add Georgievski to that as well, f*kn little weasel. See him giving it to us like a hero when they scored in the first half.

He's an experiment (LB) that has gone on too far purely because of Garuccio's injury. It clearly shows that who else we have there (King) is not ready or just not good enough. As for tonight, who else could you have put there from our squad? Barbarouses was always going to expose him tonight, but he probably would have fared better still than anyone else because he at least has some speed to match. Just as we have all been saying all preseason; we are very vulnerable in that position.
  7. Are you for real? He owned Galloway in that first half. If things didn't go pear shaped that second half, you'd be tonguing his balls right now. Sure he looked gone after that, but by then the whole team had lost its structure.
  8. IF it's true (and i doubt it), I reckon it will only be because NYC are shitting themselves with what happened to Lampard the other night. Still think this has a lot to do with it. To me it explains the sudden timing this week.
  9. Yep, happened to my daughter's. Turned it inside out and ironed back over it (using a thin cloth). Seems to have worked ok -it's now stuck back on. Gonna give that a go tonight mate. Thanks for that. Tip-top mate, hope it works!

  11. Yep, agree also. Further more, i don't think they were that awesome against WSW the week before either, despite the big scoreline. That WSW team that night was half baked - their defence was absolutely woeful. Anyone on this forum would have scored against them that night.... But winning form does bring confidence and I am tipping they will be buzzing - so i hope we can silence them early.

  13. A lot of people ready to pull the trigger here. Yes i agree we still have a way to go, with our fullbacks and faster ball movement being amongst the things that need to be sharpened. Yet credit needs to go to the Jets. They obviously studied last week's game against Sydney. Last week Duff was cutting balls back across the penalty box at will. They had this covered today and made it difficult for us to get that final ball through. Sitting deep, along with the stop play tactics made it even harder for us. Yes we coughed up a crap goal again but that's where the comparison to last year ends for me. Today we made some changes, kept on fighting and salvaged a draw. We could have won it, we could have lost it, but we at least saw it out. Next week will be a different proposition altogether. Victory won't sit back and will be pushing forward more. Yes we will have a real problem with their wingers, Barbarouses in particular - but i also think they will be vulnerable (especially Milligan) and we will have some clearer cut chances than today. Just sad Koren won't be ready yet.

Feeling quite uneasy what Barbarouses might do to him next week....
  15. I agree with this. Went and had a look at them train on Tuesday and he was not there. From memory, neither was Archibald. Said it all for me in terms of this weekend. On the other hand, it was encouraging to see Willo and Germano train fully.
  16. Deliberate tactic by management to force the die hards to conform to the new colours! Perhaps. But I suspect it will backfire when 80% of the crowd isn't wearing any of the new range and more people are wearing Heart gear than City. I'm wearing Heart gear regardless, so they can delay it as long as they like, but it is pretty unprofessional. I'd love some evidence to this, that most people are going to wear heart gear, or as you say 80% of people. Which I'm guessing is a number plucked out of thin air? As far as I can tell the only people who say they will only wear heart gear are a few noisy people on here, which is hardly a broad part of the supporter base. Of course it is. Do you think I've conducted extensive research and surveys on this? Anyway, I'm basing it on a couple of things. To me, it seems that the supporter group/membership is now split three ways, with regards to attire: Group 1: 100% embracing the new wardrobe and happy to wear the new home shirt and/or sky blue to the home games. Group 2: Have accepted the new wardrobe, but have a natural preference for the red and white away kit, which is impossible to get, at this stage. May or may not also be slightly bemused (if not irritated) by the generic club merchandise being dominated by sky blue. Group 3: Will wear old Melbourne Heart gear at home games, regardless of their thoughts on the new kit (which is where I fit in and I've honestly got no problem with the new kit and will buy it). Right now, the club is not catering to Group 2 or Group 3 with the new range and it's even proving difficult for Group 1 to get what they want (e.g. hero printing) You forgot Group 4... Group 4: Have 100% rejected the new wardrobe and will only wear Heart gear if they come at all. Are 100% not accepting of the takeover and will jump on this forum and abuse anything related to CFG. Yet are still pulling their cocks when our CFG related acquisitions, i.e. David Villa, score goals for us. BTW, I'm not sure how you differentiate yourself between group 2 and group 3 as you will buy the new kit, which means you are accepting of it. Does that mean you will buy the new kit but not wear it? I'd call you group 2.5 - the ones that sit on the fence and sway in the direction the vibe on this forum moves towards. I'd say group 4 fits into Group 3. If you're not going to wear the new City gear at all, I feel that it's essentially the same thing, whether you're relatively neutral towards the changes (like me) or absolutely hate them. I'll wear the new kit, but never to home games and possibly not to games, full stop. I collect jerseys and, at the end of the day, they look good. I think there is a distinction between wearing the new away shirt when it is available and wearing old Heart gear. And I'm not saying any of the groups are wrong, or one is better than the others...it's a personal choice. You're dead wrong about me going with the popular opinion on here, with regards to this, to put it bluntly. Would love to know what you're basing that on. Or which poster(s) on here (none of whom I've ever met) I'm apparently following, by buying both of the new shirts, but only wearing Heart apparel to home games. To answer, this is the type of comment I am basing it on. To me it reads like you're happy to be known as a Melbourne City supporter in general but at a game scenario in front of fellow fans, you're a Melbourne Heart person. Don't know what the difference is... But hey in the end, if I'm wrong, then my bad and good luck to you. FWIW, I will be wearing both new and old gear to games. So not sure what group that puts me in....
  17. He was good, just tends to drift in and out of games. Think he will be really handy if he can keep himself involved for the majority of the game.

  19. He scored in his first 15 minutes of play since July... What the hell do expect of him? Run up and down, box to box all day? I didn't see Ryall get too involved once Villa was on, such was his presence. To say he didn't help the team out and had 'lack of effort' is just dumb sorry.
  20. fukn hell, happy to bang me after every game, after that goal!!!
  21. Finding talent is way down the order of why they bought Melbourne Heart. It's all about the shirt sales. Yeah, that's it..... So what's the best way to sell shirts? I know, bring in some great players so supporters want to buy their shirts... ....and what does bringing great players in do? Makes it a better team (hopefully). ....and what does a better team do? Makes existing supporters happier. Brings in new supporters and makes the club a more desirable option for new players to want to come to. ....and what does that do? Makes the club a powerhouse and makes more people want to buy their shirts... and the cycle goes on... So for me, in the end - who gives a f**k what their intentions are if their involvement improves on every aspect of my experience as member of this club - especially watching them play better football. I like your attitude son cheers pop - it's all pretty simple really... to me anyway!

  23. I believe it's around 10:00am unless they have mixed it up.
