  1. I watched it on Foxtel Go on the Spirit of Tassie lol. Bailed up the only guy wearing a Victory shirt on the ship while wearing my Heart shirt and told him the end score. I have never seen a bottom lip wobble in anger so much.
  2. Fucking hope so! Quality goal just now. He is just above a jouney man Serie A player, but one who was always the key creative player in the team he is playing for. I remember him destroying Roma a few years ago. For the right money there would be several players of his ilk around. Bit harsh dont you think? imo that left foot of his will see him get a spot on the plane to brazil - regardless of where he is playing. hes a good player - but he can go missing on occasion. When I say journeyman I mean he has played for a lot of clubs rather that a comment on his ability, which he clearly has. Not sure he will be in Brazil. Apparently before he made the decision to move to the club, only a few weeks ago, he spoke to the Italian national team coach and asked if playing on China would affect his chances of making the WC squad, to which the coach apparently said it wouldn't at all.
  3. Unfortunately not. He's been promoted back to the first team this week.
  4. My story begins on high seas where mother and father got it on. From day one I show great interest in taking over family business of selling frozen yogurt. I arive in Brisbane with somewhat cockeyed optimism and Mr Moby in hand. Had to close down frozen yogurt business because it contain high level of potassium benzoate, but then I met wife who own semi-successful fermented fish sauce business. I have many hobby. I enjoy walking on footpath and rolling down hills. Thats all. Much apology, I not watch champions league game but I sure everyone is wrong. On scale of 4 to 5, 4 being no chance of winning title, 5 being sheikh buy title, I say heresay, theresay, say it isn't so. I chuckled HEARTily. Geddit geddit?!
  5. The thread on the Roar forum regarding our match against them is delightful. One half of the posters are full of pessimism, claiming that the best Brisbane can hope for is a draw. The other half are straight out saying that they WANT Heart to win for the good of the competition.
  6. Got three mates coming who've never been to an A-league game before. Should be a good first match for them to see!
  7. Off topic, but just in reference to them speaking about Bresciano, but let me just say that I would give my left nut to have that guy playing for Heart. Sure he's respected greatly, but there's always been more focus on (albeit absolutely brilliant players) Kewell, Viduka, Cahill, etc. Bresciano, in my mind, was/is the most underrated, and perhaps the best Socceroo of that 2006 squad.
  8. They have to save up to buy Victory.

Not many RB's will win you the league, but they sure can help you lose the league.

  11. Engelaar hasn't shown enought to warrant a slot? Give the guy a break! He's only been back for a few games. IMO, in these few games he has already shown the ability to lift the spirits and hopes of an entire team whose morale has been drilled into the ground, which I think is one of the most important aspects of a marquee player. ...at this stage... I'm not writing him off at all. I'm just saying that to be our international marquee next season, he's probably going to have to be one of the best performing players in the league for the remainder of the season. We've got a scouting network and we'll soon have resources at our disposal that the other sides could only dream of and we'll be able to secure any of a number of world class players in the offseason. Engelaar's healthy now and he'll be back for the trip to NZ. Nothing wrong with making a guy earn his spot. I get what you mean. My mistake. If City want Heart to play a more posession based, passing game like I have heard, then Engelaar would fit in really well. He has a knack for keeping the ball even when being swarmed by players, and his passing ability is great. His place in the center of the park, would allow him to control the play in a posession type game. On another note, he claims he's really happy in Aus so as far as I'm concerned, City shouldn't bother looking too far for a new marquee option.
  12. Bummed I'm heading back overseas soon. Would have loved to get a full membership for next season. Sounds like you guys have too much fun!
  13. I reckon the marquee needs to be that, regardless, at every club. Producing on the pitch is all well and good, but considering how much more your international marquee is likely to be on than anyone else, he should also be your hardest worker, or close to it and an absolute professional in every respect. If he's just looking at it as a set-up for retirement, to get some sun and coast around in a second rate league, it's pretty easy to see what sort of problems that can cause with the team's chemistry. I don't think Engelaar has shown enough to warrant the slot at this stage. Would love for him to stay on and find a way to fit him under the salary cap, but I just can't see him being our marquee man in 2014/15, unless he absolutely destroys the league in the last nine weeks of this season. 14. I'm guessing the general concensus is that Orlando won't be offered a new contract at the end of the season? As long as he performs well the rest of this season, I'd be happy if he stayed on. Guy has some obvious talent.
  15. I think they will. He's their mate. They think it's the club, players and us fans fault that JA didn't succeed. They are all pricks to me. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/lucy-zelic/blog/1178154/Aloisi-the-scapegoat-for-a-broken-Heart As confidently predicted hahahaha. The article starts off with a bit of promise. Seemingly winding up to a conclusion that pointed the blame at Aloisi for his own downfall. But get to halfway through the article, and you start seeing the words "injury, "unlucky, "under-peforming", etc... What is wrong with these people?
  16. Pretty silly when people just give a solid "nope" with no explanation, and those who bang on about him being an ex-Victory player and that's cause enough to not take interest in him. I can only see good things from the possiblity of trying to get Traore with us. With Behich going, what better excuse to try sign the best left back in the league? Also, imagine how fucking much Victory would whinge about it. Awesome!
  17. This. It seems only logical that we would try build more of a fan base around places like Geelong and Ballarat. Closer places where the fans in these areas would be more beneficial when it comes to attendance back in Melbourne. That being said, it is good to give what fans we might have in more remote areas something to get excited about. I still don't get why it's in Albury, though. Why not Mildura, or somewhere remote in Vic?
