  1. So i wanted to put my input in too. I've been an active member since season 2 - always try to stand close to the capo so i can hear him the best. I sat in GA last night because i brought a friend to the game for the first time, so she could only get a GA ticket - we were in Bay 17 up the back... I thought the very first We Are Melbourne, We Are City chant with the tifo was awesome especially how long it lasted. GA was clapping along, and many people were singing. No one (from GA) really sang SHT, i was really surprised, always sounds very loud when I'm in the terrace. Chanting speed and length was HEAPS improved since a fortnight ago! I agree with a lot of posts here, More player chants would be good. I liked the Ole Ole Call Response chant but my thoughts on it are - No one in the GA knew the chant, so they weren't really sure what to do. - The second attempt (before it moved to the wings) what i think happened there is that the active got everyone to stand up, then something happened in the game and GA sat back down, so it lost all its momentum when we tried to get the chant going, then i was the only one standing trying to respond... Because of this, i think it would be good to go from Bay17 to Bay16 first, then Bay17 to Bay18. then go backwards to the GA... I also think it will grow the more people hear and learn the chant. As i was just recalling that, i remember the Stand up chant has changed. Now its just "stand up. stand up. stand up." maybe we could change it back to "Stand up, stand up, stand up for the heart" - Just a thought. I thought we did the "We Are Melbourne" chant too often. Its a good chant but when it starts up again i think "oh this one again - we do this too much", Especially because about half the teams in our league to a version of it (granted i think ours is the best) The bloke's chanting whatever they were chanting up the back actually annoyed me. It felt like they were there to do their own thing - Respect the Capo boys. The Capo did an awesome job! Especially when he made the comment about everyone bitching on FB about the Man City chants! That got me pumped too! Excited for next sunday against the Mariners i can get back to the Active and lose my voice again p.s. I just want to clarify - I really enjoyed getting a new perspective on the Melburnians, so these were just my observations/thoughts about it. Take it, Leave it. I appreciate that we have this forum (both senses of the word) where i can give my input.
  2. Im surprised with all the negativity. I was also disappointed not to come away with the win, and was pretty shattered when we conceded. But i think, its the second game of the season. Our first home game. There was much more positive than negative. I think a few people are a bit biased against players that they have it out for. Villa, Duff, & Mooy were awesome. I'm excited to see what Koren will add to our attack. Im not sure about the hate on Redmayne Its certainly not warranted from the two games he's played this season. We know what to expect from Murdocca, He's everywhere and is awesome with the ball until he gets to the box, where he's then often wasteful. In defence, i think Hoffman is great and contributes going forward. I think everyone still hates on him because of how horrible he's been in previous seasons but he's a good right back. Ramsey is playing better than i expected him too, I'm re-watching the game now so ill judge what happened with the goal when i get to it. Williams was alright. Defence was good in the first half then a bit shaky in the second. I was standing right in the middle of the Melburnians so i had no issues with young kids, I thought the Capo did a fine job. Chants were initially fast and a bit average in the first half but that was our first half at home as Melburnians.. trying new things, finding the rhythm and the second half was rocking. Loved it. Still feeling very positive about the season ahead. Bring on the derby next week.
  3. I think Hoffman will be back from Suspension too. Hopefully he isn't injured, i know Archibald has been playing RB during preseason games.. they might stay with him.. I think Murdocca out for Koren is the right move.. even though i think its a shame. Murdocca is a workhorse in the middle but Paartalou was so good for us against Sydney!
  4. I feel like that suggestion goes with your little avatar image thing. hahaha
  5. Look at that. Hume City have former Melbourne Heart player Kliment Taseski. (As well as Jez Walker) Shame I can't make this one. Tuesday nights are no good. Took a bunch to get off work for the FFA Cup game.
  6. I'm in. Though i had my team set up before i knew Melburnians had a league. So my Team name is Skye City FC I look forward it, this is the first time i've done EPL fantasy.
  7. Just checked this thread out because it was "unread" All these sticker designed would also make sick banners!
  8. Yeah, I missed out as well. The scarfs looked awesome & can't wait to get a hold of one
  9. First of all, BeardedHeart, you did an awesome job as Capo! I'm excited to follow your leadership this season. I Loved Uh lelele, but I think it needs jumping Same with Shalala lalala lalala. the first one we did where the "ooh's" were still with out the drum then the drum picked up & we were jumping was good. has that party vibe. Sydney haters was good & fun but we still need to work on the timing of the last bit I think our most fun chants are the ones that are an in joke on the night.. "Where's your towel at?" "We're stealing your towel" the one that will forever stick in my memory is "Two balls on the pitch, two balls on the pitch" then when the second ball was removed "One ball on the pitch" i think that was 2 years ago now. I still think we need more player chants. Mooy & Duff chants are sick. I think we should use player chants to fill in silences, like if we notice a lul then choose a player and start singing his chant. Similarly, we need chants for Ramsey, Murdocca?, James Brown, Stefan Mauk.. Whatever we think of the quality of the player, they should still have chants because they play for us... Also, BeardedHeart, there was a chant that you tried and wrote off pretty quickly, the "Thinking about you, You're thinking about me, Thinking about Melbourne, Thinking about City".. I would have joined in if i knew the words (had to check another forum post for the words), but we only had one crack at it. I think thats a good one because the tune at the end i could get involved with though i didn't know the words to the first part. I think we should still reference ourselves as Heart to ensure that the nickname will stick around. The "Clap Clap ClapClap ClapClap HEART!" chant, "You are in my Heart" etc... That's my feedback anyway! Cant wait to start this season with the Melburnians!
  10. I Agree, but specifically for "Melbourne, I'm in Love".. "Stand up straight and smoke a dart" surely we can think of something better. I love the song but don't sing that line. Anyway. Cant wait for Tuesday & the new season! p.s. Definitely include Uh lelele & that Dortmond Chant
  11. Yeah, there were a few player chants missing / players we should create a chant for. But the list is SICK. Cant wait for 12th of August! Excited to get this season under way! Looking forward to big things in the Melburnians!
  12. Keep in mind. We're already paying the club to be an active member too.
  13. I Like it. Lets try it vs CCM!

    Glad all over

Maybe give out a lyrics sheet at the Wellington game? That way everyone would know exactly what theyre supposed to sing? Would be a good opportunity to try out some newer chants too
  15. AndyHeart

    Glad all over

I think this chant worked really well in the Derby.. best we've ever done it
  16. Yeah, im not going to be able to make it to this game.
  17. that video gave me cancer me too
  18. AndyHeart

    Glad all over

My only problem with this chant is the awkwardness of it... Im Feeling (the sickest ever) CLAP CLAP Glad all over 'awkward murmering' CLAP CLAP Glad all over 'awkward murmering' CLAP CLAP Glad all over 'more awkward murmering' even if you know the words, this part still feels awkward.
  19. Yeah, it seems like we have a Few Engalaar chants that caught on Ooh Aah Engalaar We've got a Big Fucking Dutchman En-gal-aar Engalaar Engalaar, Engalaar Engalaar Engalaaaaaaaar Love it!
  20. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/1178888/Heart-releases-Macallister Heart have released Macallister. Opens up a spot on the roster.. & Migliorini's contract finishes up at the end of Jan.. 2 potential spots and maybe a deadline day signing? i can only hope!
  21. I feel like we should all keep in mind that Orlando Engalaar is a Defencive midfielder... Our goals will come from Kewell and Mifsud if they can get their act together...
  22. www.youtube.com/embed/jZMm6C6i_yU I was thinking/hoping that this would be a good song for Migliorini.. even without the extra lines... MIG-LI-OR-INI La la la la lala Migliorini la la la la lala
