  1. Bruce Djite is now a free agent, used to play for Adelaide United might as well confirm him now
  2. http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/the-covert-agent-lachlan-wales-melbourne-city/1vafmvzu252j1gezzlalp9t07 The Covert Agent: Central Coast Mariners playmaker set to join Melbourne City EXCLUSIVE: Goal's resident spy reveals the attacker is likely to move south after breaking through this season Central Coast Mariners look set to lose talented midfielder Lachlan Wales to Melbourne City. The Covert Agent can reveal the 20-year-old's management team is claiming their client will join Warren Joyce's side for next season. Wales made his debut in a single subsitute appearance last season but burst on to the scene with an assist off the bench in January's 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory. The Terrigal-born product went on to start seven more matches for the campaign and impressed with his range of passing and movement. Wales' tally of two assists for the campaign is more than heralded playmaker Daniel De Silva, who created only one goal from his 21 appearances. De Silva's future is also subject to intense speculation, with the 21-year-old understood to be in discussions with three A-League clubs.
  3. Not sure how much I can say, to paraphrase he seems to love the club and wants to be here, but he also thinks that the current manager wont play him. Doesn't sound positive, he doesn't want to move, but from what I understand feels he might have to, because he just wants to play football
  4. I have been talking to Neil a little bit through instagram to find out whats going, doesn't sound like he's very happy with his current situation. His instagram story shows he is still in Melbourne so he is not playing tonight
  5. Mitch Nichols just got charged with cocaine possession. FORMER Western Sydney Wanderers star and Socceroo Mitch Nichols has been charged with possession of cocaine at a Sydney nightclub. Nichols, 28, who was released by the Wanderers last week, was allegedly at Casablanca nightclub in Double Bay in the early hours of last Saturday when police conducted a random drug sweep. Just before 12.30am police located three small clear resealable plastic bags containing about 1.1 grams of a white powder which they believed to be cocaine. Police confiscated the drugs and issued Nichols with a field court attendance notice for possess prohibited drug. He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 9 June. Nichols was allegedly arrested following a random drug sweep at Cassablanca nightclub in Double Bay on Friday night. Nichols was told last week that his contract at Western Sydney would not be renewed for next season, and the midfielder is believed to want to try his luck in the European leagues. However any offence would still be within the jurisdiction of Football Federation Australia once his contract expires at the end of this month. All of the Western Sydney players are currently on leave, including those who are being released.Police allegedly found three resealable bags during the operation at Casablanca nightclu Under FFA’s Code of Conduct, that applies to all registered players, there is a catch-all “bringing the game into disrepute” charge, under which players can be suspended immediately at the discretion of the governing body. The Code specifically notes that it “continues to apply to a member even after that member’s association, registration, employment or engagement has ended, if that member breached this code while a current member.” In effect he could be suspended even without having a contract, though the Code also notes that a player must be given due notice of any potential charge and the right to a fair hearing. Nichols was released after a disappointing season in which Western Sydney only just made the finals, and were eliminated at the first hurdle. He won two A-League titles with Brisbane Roar and has played five times for his country, though not since Ange Postecoglou — his former boss at Brisbane — took charge.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if Cahill isn't officially announced until the AFL has their break before the finals, Then the FFA/City can gain most media impact.
  7. Terry Antonis looks set for a shock return to the A-League with his Greek Super League club PAOK primed to send the fringe Socceroos midfielder out on a season-long loan. Western Sydney Wanderers, Melbourne City and Adelaide United have all expressed a strong interest in landing Antonis – who joined PAOK on a two-year deal from Sydney FC but has made just six appearances in all competitions for the Greek high fliers. It was touted as a dream move for Antonis when he headed to Greece for $500,000 last August, but a succession of injuries have stymied his progress under coach Vladimir Ivic who is looking to offload Antonis ahead of the qualifying rounds for the UEFA Champions League to make room for more high profile signings. The club have already snapped up Spanish midfielder Jose Alberto Canas from Espanyol with the Champions League in mind, while Antonis, 22, has been left out of the pre-season tour of the Netherlands, where he had the opportunity last week to join an Eredivisie club on loan before the deal fell through. Sources in Greece claim that PAOK were asking the unnamed club to pay half his wages, with an option to buy him at season’s end. It’s unknown if the same expectations would apply to A-League clubs. Either way, an A-League return is beckoning for Antonis, who has three Socceroos caps, and needs regular first team football to further press his national team claims – especially after making a combined total just 25 competitive games in the past two seasons. PAOK's likely asking price of at least $500,000 to sell Antonis would likely spook any A-League club, while a loan deal might work for all parties. Thoughts on getting Antonis ?
  8. Harry Novillo will play in Turkey's second division next season after leaving A-League side Melbourne City Harry Novillo has left A-League side Melbourne City after signing a two-year deal with Turkish outfit Manisaspor. Novillo signed with City as an injury replacement for Damien Duff in March 2015 and quickly established himself as a fan favourite at AAMI Park. The 24-year-old scored 10 goals in 2015-16 as City made the semi-finals, bowing out to eventual champions Adelaide United. However, his season was hit by off-field drama, with the Lyon-born winger stood down from training for two weeks in February following an investigation into an alleged altercation. While no charges were officially laid against Novillo, the Frenchman departed the A-League outfit with a year to run on his contract. "I believe at Manisaspor I can direct my career in a different direction," Novillo said after being unveiled by Manisaspor on Tuesday. "The president wants to see me here too, and all of the positive references I have received about Manisaspor are among the reasons I chose this place. "I promise to fight to ensure my maximum contribution to Manisaspor." Manisaspor will play in Turkey's second division next season after gaining promotion from the third tier.
