  1. Bruce Djite is now a free agent, used to play for Adelaide United might as well confirm him now
  2. http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/the-covert-agent-lachlan-wales-melbourne-city/1vafmvzu252j1gezzlalp9t07 The Covert Agent: Central Coast Mariners playmaker set to join Melbourne City EXCLUSIVE: Goal's resident spy reveals the attacker is likely to move south after breaking through this season Central Coast Mariners look set to lose talented midfielder Lachlan Wales to Melbourne City. The Covert Agent can reveal the 20-year-old's management team is claiming their client will join Warren Joyce's side for next season. Wales made his debut in a single subsitute appearance last season but burst on to the scene with an assist off the bench in January's 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory. The Terrigal-born product went on to start seven more matches for the campaign and impressed with his range of passing and movement. Wales' tally of two assists for the campaign is more than heralded playmaker Daniel De Silva, who created only one goal from his 21 appearances. De Silva's future is also subject to intense speculation, with the 21-year-old understood to be in discussions with three A-League clubs.
  3. Not sure how much I can say, to paraphrase he seems to love the club and wants to be here, but he also thinks that the current manager wont play him. Doesn't sound positive, he doesn't want to move, but from what I understand feels he might have to, because he just wants to play football
  4. I have been talking to Neil a little bit through instagram to find out whats going, doesn't sound like he's very happy with his current situation. His instagram story shows he is still in Melbourne so he is not playing tonight
  5. Mitch Nichols just got charged with cocaine possession. FORMER Western Sydney Wanderers star and Socceroo Mitch Nichols has been charged with possession of cocaine at a Sydney nightclub. Nichols, 28, who was released by the Wanderers last week, was allegedly at Casablanca nightclub in Double Bay in the early hours of last Saturday when police conducted a random drug sweep. Just before 12.30am police located three small clear resealable plastic bags containing about 1.1 grams of a white powder which they believed to be cocaine. Police confiscated the drugs and issued Nichols with a field court attendance notice for possess prohibited drug. He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 9 June. Nichols was allegedly arrested following a random drug sweep at Cassablanca nightclub in Double Bay on Friday night. Nichols was told last week that his contract at Western Sydney would not be renewed for next season, and the midfielder is believed to want to try his luck in the European leagues. However any offence would still be within the jurisdiction of Football Federation Australia once his contract expires at the end of this month. All of the Western Sydney players are currently on leave, including those who are being released.Police allegedly found three resealable bags during the operation at Casablanca nightclu Under FFA’s Code of Conduct, that applies to all registered players, there is a catch-all “bringing the game into disrepute” charge, under which players can be suspended immediately at the discretion of the governing body. The Code specifically notes that it “continues to apply to a member even after that member’s association, registration, employment or engagement has ended, if that member breached this code while a current member.” In effect he could be suspended even without having a contract, though the Code also notes that a player must be given due notice of any potential charge and the right to a fair hearing. Nichols was released after a disappointing season in which Western Sydney only just made the finals, and were eliminated at the first hurdle. He won two A-League titles with Brisbane Roar and has played five times for his country, though not since Ange Postecoglou — his former boss at Brisbane — took charge.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if Cahill isn't officially announced until the AFL has their break before the finals, Then the FFA/City can gain most media impact.
  7. Terry Antonis looks set for a shock return to the A-League with his Greek Super League club PAOK primed to send the fringe Socceroos midfielder out on a season-long loan. Western Sydney Wanderers, Melbourne City and Adelaide United have all expressed a strong interest in landing Antonis – who joined PAOK on a two-year deal from Sydney FC but has made just six appearances in all competitions for the Greek high fliers. It was touted as a dream move for Antonis when he headed to Greece for $500,000 last August, but a succession of injuries have stymied his progress under coach Vladimir Ivic who is looking to offload Antonis ahead of the qualifying rounds for the UEFA Champions League to make room for more high profile signings. The club have already snapped up Spanish midfielder Jose Alberto Canas from Espanyol with the Champions League in mind, while Antonis, 22, has been left out of the pre-season tour of the Netherlands, where he had the opportunity last week to join an Eredivisie club on loan before the deal fell through. Sources in Greece claim that PAOK were asking the unnamed club to pay half his wages, with an option to buy him at season’s end. It’s unknown if the same expectations would apply to A-League clubs. Either way, an A-League return is beckoning for Antonis, who has three Socceroos caps, and needs regular first team football to further press his national team claims – especially after making a combined total just 25 competitive games in the past two seasons. PAOK's likely asking price of at least $500,000 to sell Antonis would likely spook any A-League club, while a loan deal might work for all parties. Thoughts on getting Antonis ?
  8. Harry Novillo will play in Turkey's second division next season after leaving A-League side Melbourne City Harry Novillo has left A-League side Melbourne City after signing a two-year deal with Turkish outfit Manisaspor. Novillo signed with City as an injury replacement for Damien Duff in March 2015 and quickly established himself as a fan favourite at AAMI Park. The 24-year-old scored 10 goals in 2015-16 as City made the semi-finals, bowing out to eventual champions Adelaide United. However, his season was hit by off-field drama, with the Lyon-born winger stood down from training for two weeks in February following an investigation into an alleged altercation. While no charges were officially laid against Novillo, the Frenchman departed the A-League outfit with a year to run on his contract. "I believe at Manisaspor I can direct my career in a different direction," Novillo said after being unveiled by Manisaspor on Tuesday. "The president wants to see me here too, and all of the positive references I have received about Manisaspor are among the reasons I chose this place. "I promise to fight to ensure my maximum contribution to Manisaspor." Manisaspor will play in Turkey's second division next season after gaining promotion from the third tier.
  9. According to Transfermarket he is returning to PG due to the end of his loan
  10. Pretty sure De Jong has signed for LA Galaxy, I was reading it before
  11. Davutovic reporting this morning in the Herald Sun that the Caceres deal is done and will be announced today, could play against Perth, but more likely against Wellington.
  12. We were not worthy of you Tando, the king
  13. I miss Tando already :'(
  14. Currently 25% off on steam at the moment, if anyone is thinking of biting the bullet and buying it
  15. Dat Sorensen Save, and Clisby flooring Beshita
  16. Brattan 'no chance' of Melbourne City move Luke Brattan’s agent says there’s “no chance” the Socceroo will be joining Melbourne City despite having his loan at Bolton cut short this week. Bolton confirmed on Tuesday that Manchester City had recalled the 25-year-old Socceroo from the loan which was due to expire in early January. The situation has sparked speculation the ex-Brisbane Roar midfielder could sign with Melbourne City on loan, given their relationship with the English giants. However, Brattan is now training with Championship strugglers Rotherham United with a view to a loan deal. Brattan’s agent Ritchie Hinton confirmed a move to Melbourne City had “never been discussed” and there was “no chance” of it happening in the foreseeable future. “I understand where the assumption comes from, but there’s no basis to it,” Hinton told FourFourTwo. “To be fair to City, there’s nothing that contractually obligates him to go back there. “There were never even any discussions about him coming back to Australia. It’s never even been mentioned.” In a further setback to any potential A-League deal, the FFA changed the rules for loan players prior to the 2014-15 season, meaning any Australian club signing Brattan would need to fit a large part of his current wages in their salary cap. Hinton confirmed Brattan’s loan at Bolton was cut short due to a lack of first-team game-time. Brattan only made a handful of appearances for the club’s Under-21 and Development sides after joining in late October. He lacked match fitness when he joined the Trotters but was unable to break into the first team.
  17. Assume Zullo has gone AWOL, or is part of the Germano centre?
  18. Melbourne City defender Jack Clisby said the team was capable of adding to Melbourne Victory's woes after the A-League's defending champions slumped to a third straight loss midweek. Clisby told The World Game he and the City players were keen to get another crack at Victory after the way their round-two clash ended, with Besart Berisha scoring a 90th-minute winner for Victory after City had fought back from 2-0 down to 2-2. The two teams will clash at AAMI Park on Saturday night with City having won their last three games to go above Victory on the table. City are third and Victory, which lost 1-0 to Perth Glory in a deferred match on Wednesday, are fourth. "I played in that match early in the season and it was an unfortunate loss at the end there, which was pretty hard to take," Clisby said. "A bit of revenge, we're out to try and get back at them this weekend. "We obviously have a score to settle with them. It was a disappointing end to the game the last time and that hurt a lot of the boys, especially after the way we had reacted in the second half. "We came from two goals down to level it up and to lose that way in the end, you just want to get back out there and turn the tables and redeem that. I expect it's going to be a great game." Left-back Clisby, who joined Victory from Perth Glory midway through last season, has faced Victory right-winger Kosta Barbarouses several times in his career and will no doubt do so again on Saturday. It is always a difficult challenge, but one Clisby said he relished. "He's a very good player and a very tricky dribbler, so it's going to be a tough game," he said. "But I've got full confidence in my ability to mark him and I think it's the same for us across the whole spectrum of the pitch. "I mean, I'd back every one of our players against theirs, so we're going to be rocking up on the day and we're going to give it a right go." Victory have won the last three derby games to establish the longest winning streak of either team in these clashes. They won 3-0 in the last regular-season clash of last season and 3-0 in a semi-final before the 3-2 win earlier this season. But Clisby is not fazed by that trend. "Anything can happen on derby day," he said. "Things can so quickly change on the day for either team. They're great games to be a part of and I can't wait for this next one. "We're just keeping our heads down at training and working towards playing how we know we can play. We know we're good enough to win the game, so bring on Saturday." Clisby said that while confidence in their ability as individual players and belief in the ability of the team as a whole was something the City players all had, they did not stray into the area of over-confidence and weren't getting carried away by their three-game winning streak. "It's definitely good to be a part of it, there's no better feeling than winning," he said. "The momentum we're building up now is very good for the boys and hopefully we can keep going in that direction. "But we haven't won anything yet, so we're not getting ahead of ourselves. We've just got to stay focused and keep pushing forward and trying to get more wins. Our big aim is obviously to win things at the end of the season, there are no trophies on offer now. "We're a humble bunch of guys, we know we've got to stay focused. We've been able to string some consistency together and that's what (club owners) the City Football Group have been pushing for us to do. We were getting a good result and then following it with a bad result. "Now we're starting to get some solid wins together and a lot of goals scored as well and not too many conceded recently. "Our key players are really stepping up this season. We've got the top goal-scorer in Bruno Fornaroli and everyone knows how good Aaron Mooy has been for us, so our big players are really making their mark. "It's disappointing to lose (central defender) Connor Chapman for a while with a knee injury, but we've got a lot of depth in the squad and even with all the injuries we've had this season there's always someone to cover. "I really feel for Connor because he was in really good form for us and was hoping to be in the Olyroos for some big games coming up there as well, but it could have been worse. "He could have done an ACL and been out for the rest of the season, but he'll be back and we'll look forward to that."
  19. Who cross checks the spelling on some of these releases? "Servey"

  21. Had a bit of a chat to Robi on Sunday before the game, was very cagey about his injury, at 35 I very much doubt this is a 3 week thing, surely with our 36 scouts we can find someone who ticks all the boxes and won't breakdown 3 qtrs of the time they're here.
  22. If that is the case that he is looking overseas, he is worth a lot more than 400k surely, by far our best player and debatable that he is the best player in the league, and the backlash to the club for selling him that cheaply would be disastrous. Also in that article, seems as if Eli Babalj is on his way to Adelaide, would anyone have been interested in having him back again?
  23. To Melbourne City and Georgios Samaras is the hot tip to take up their Australian marquee spot. Negotiations are ongoing. Meanwhile, Aaron Mooy is still being courted by overseas clubs and with a year on his contract left to run, City may look to take advantage of a transfer fee, rumoured to be in the vicinity of $400,000. 24. Hot on the heels of Josh Kennedy’s retirement, Melbourne City are in overdrive to secure an Australian marquee striker. Scott McDonald and even Tomi Juric are in the frame but the player for whom MCFC are prepared to break the bank is former Celtic and Greece international Georgios Samaras, who qualifies as an Aussie courtesy of his Melbourne-born father. Still aged 30, Samaras was unhappy at Saudi Al-Hilal and has returned to West Bromwich Albion for pre-season training nursing a back complaint. He isn’t wanted by coach Tony Pulis and his enormous following among Melbourne’s Greek community would have thousands of new fans flocking to City’s AAMI Park. Club owners are said to be pulling out all stops. http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/transfer-rumours-samaras-city-maclaren-heads-east
  25. Murdocca said on twitter he has joined for a 10 game stint with Avondale
