  1. I can now confirm I can't stand the guy, absolute flog. However I can also confirm that it was a terrible decision to trade him out for Malik.
  2. The way I seen it the only way he would stay is if we won the title and that hasn't happened...
  3. I don't believe any of the away seats were sold as "active" mate.
  4. I wouldn't start Novillo. Sunday evening we played damn well and had one of our best team performances I've seen us play this season, Gooch and Clisby especially conplimented each other's games well and I'd like to see them link back up there together again. I still really hope he gets off however, he has the potential to make a serious impact, imagine if we're chasing goal(s) and have a hungry Harry wanting to prove he deserves to be here playing in a final coming on at the 60th minute. He is an impact and big game player.
  5. I'd love James Meredith but sadly I think it's to unrealistic.
  6. I don't overly rate him as a left back and would like to see us bring in a new left back and Zullo to be rotated him on the left wing. If we did sign a new LB I would release Gooch.
  7. This game worries me more than Adelaide do I think Perth have significantly strengthened their squad since January and it's never easy going over there. We must finish top and if we don't win this game I don't think we will. Monster game.

    Aaron Mooy

I think he'll go at seasons end but he's given so much to our club and he deserves to move overseas to secure his dream move wherever that is. Wish the great man nothing but the best. It's a lot different now then the Heart days, we we lost someone deep down you knew they'd never be replaced but I believe the CFG can find an even better replacement.
  9. Keisuke Honda is still my dream marquee.
  10. Guys we can't forget Kuzi only turned 19 in January, I believe Ali Eyigun is the only player younger than him that's made a first team appearance this season. He was never going to make an impact straight away. His onfield performances haven't concerned me at all. We've heard so much talk on his behavior behind doors. If a fringe player is more interested in causing trouble than he is breaking into our first eleven then I don't want him involved at our great club. Kamau is an interesting link, we don't have a whole heap of proven depth out wide and if we are playing in the ACL next season then good depth is absolutely vital. Does have plenty of A League experience for a player of his age and has shown some good things. In saying that though I don't think he's going to set the world on fire but if he was willing to sign on a smaller contract then I'd kindly welcome him onboard.
  11. Perfect squad player, very versatile and can play as a bit of a 'Mr Fix it'. Turned 31 last December so he's not overly old but still has a heap of experience at this level and is a good leader. The article on the Phoenix website said he has just had his third child together wife his wife they wanted to move back to their hometown, Melbourne. The fact he wants to move to Melbourne, we're an appealing club to join I can't imagine we would've needed to offer him a very big contract to get him to sign. Technically because he's coming from a different country can't we also offer out of cap extra's to help relocate. Will be a very helpful player, especially if we can make the Asian Champions League next season, squad depth is absolutely vital.
  12. I thought so too, broke play up really well in midfield and offered Kisnorbo/Wilkinson a lot of support.
  13. An issue would be for any clubs making the Asian Champions League would be any New Zealanders would count as international players. Lets say we had four Kiwi's a part of our squad and then our five current VISA players we would only be able to register three of those nine players. Would then make squad registrations quite difficult for A League clubs. For the sake of the League it would be extremely logical but because New Zealand aren't a part of Asia it makes things quite more difficult.
  14. Cahill is anything but a winger my friend. We'd have to work out a way to play with two strikers or play Cahill behind Bruno, pushing Caceres and Mooy deeper.
  15. We could only sign Cahill as a guest so you wouldn't need to worry about taking the marquee spot we've presumably left for Bruno. How you'd fit the two in the same starting eleven is the real question.
  16. I always thought this was the case but didn't we sign Wilkinson after the second. (No idea when paperwork was lodged though.) A guest player can be signed I believe as they don't have to he registered. Either way it's possible to sign Cahill if we could get him to sign!
  17. Would someone mind explaining what "suspended points" actually means? You lose three points until you're fans are well behaved for a few weeks and then get them back?
  18. Hoping yesterday's "performance" shows we can't just expect anything to happen and whilst our squad may be very good on paper we cannot just expect it to work for us. I understand it's hard to find a marquee and guest in February but with the City Football groups scouting knowledge I've got no doubts we could find two class players who are out of contract. I'm presuming they don't want to sign a player just for the sake of it but every other club has two marquee spots filled (I believe) so for us to not utilise that in a salary capped league is stupidity, especially when we've just spent 400k paying out Koren. Personally I think we need to sign a winger and a defensive midfielder. There's plenty of wingers available there's Oar, Kranjcar or Ronaldinho off the top of my head who could do a job. I'm not as sure on defensive midfielders but I'd have no doubt we'd be able to find someone who could be a good performer at this level. The title is hanging above us and far from a guarantee but it is there for the taking, the fact money shouldn't be an issue gives us no excuse not to go out there and improve our squad. In a capped league it's quite hard to use our finicall advantage quickly. When we're aloud to have two marquees and a guest player out of the squad I'd be quite pissed if we didn't fill those spots. Its really now or never though, leave it much later and the better free agents will be gone and with the finals quickly approaching we want to give players the chance to gain fitness and settle into Melbourne and our squad/tactics before finals do start. Don't let us down CFG!
  19. Quite a shame we couldn't have locked him in for longer but right now all I can think about is winning the championship this season and signing Wilkinson will be a massive help towards going for the title. Regular Socceroo, plenty of experience but not overly old. Huge signing at this point in the season.
  20. Just sayin' I'd still take Tommy Oar as a marquee until the end of the season.
  21. Most of the Asain League windows are still open, I just always thought squad registration had to be finally submitted when the final transfer window closed. I thought the only additions could then be injury replacements or a guest signing. if this isn't a case why were Newcastle in such a hurry to sign Hersi last night: http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2016/02/02/11th-hour-visa-issue-thwarts-hersis-mariners-deal would also explain why the club was trying to (is being reported that we did) sign Wilkinson so late last night. More than happy to be proven wrong and really hope I am.
  22. A good consistent player, nothing more, nothing less. Thank you and good luck!
  23. I feel Malik replacing Paartalu as a DM will improve our starting line up but Paaralu was one of the biggest earners with-in the cap and one of the better players in the squad so I think we'd be silly to let him leave with out him leave with out re-using the cap space.
  24. If we bring in Wilkinson i'll be a very happy man, Paartalu was a valuable asset, not everyone's favorite player but he did his job well and was also the clubs biggest aerial threat in the box. If this cap space could allow us to sign Wilkinson I'd be over the moon, honestly think he'd be the best CB in the league and would strengthen up the weakest position in our team, should really allow us to push on for the title. Paartalu leaving for a CB would also really help with our squad balance, if we had of signed Wilkinson we would have had Wilkinson, Hughes, Chapman, Malik, Kisnorbo (plus Melling & Clisby) I understand we'd be trying to strengthen our weakest area but in a league with squad restrictions that's just to many players in the one position. With Paartalu leaving Malik could then play in arguably his strongest position as a defensive midfielder. I honestly think Malik will be a better DM then Paartulu as well so we'd improve our midfield, defense and depth in the one move. We still have a marquee and or visa spot as well as a guest position, if we want the title we can genuinely take.
  25. I wish him all the best. Undecided on allowing him to leave, it'll all depended on how we replace him (will fume if we don't).
