mus-28
My guess at the eventual team: GK: Mark Schwarzer RB: Lucas Neill RCB: Joe Marston LCB: Craig Moore LB: Alan Davidson RM: Ned Zelic CM: Johnny Warren LM: Tim Cahill RW: John Aloisi CF: Mark Viduka LW: Harry Kewell Would guess a majority of the votes will be from people under 30. jw1739
I would have thought Craig Johnston would push strongly for a place in the team.
LR9
Barley an Aussie, and you need to have represented the NT.

I agree Craig Johnston should be pushing for a place, if not named the best but probably won't be due to the under thirty nature of the poll as mus stated. Which goes to reflect how much of Australia's football culture is based around the success of the last generation of players, which is honestly fair enough. EDIT: didn't read the representing national team bit for craig Harry Kewell to end up being named the greatest. MaliMate
LOL @ Harry Kewell named the greatest. 4 good seasons. That's it. Scores goals wherever he went. Never got any credit in the national team because he was too busy holding the ball up and drawing 3 men onto him like the true Centre Forward he is. Just as many EPL goals as RVP. More goals than Gerrard, Begkamp & Torres. Most UCL goals by an Aussie also.
jw1739
EDIT: didn't read the representing national team bit for craig Sorry, didn't read that either. Odd, then, that his name is listed on the website... Doesn't matter. Just filling in time during this excruciatingly long off-season... Tesla
Going to have to throw Cahill into the above Kewell vs Viduka debate. brb, more goals for the national team than viduka despite being a midfielder. brb, more goals for the national team than Kewell despite playing less games. brb, saved out ass 23482374823 times brb Going on national team performances, of the players that have played during my time, would be Cahill. AS for overall, whose the greatest, dunno but Kewell is probably correct, but so would someone like Viduka. MaliMate
Cahill wasn't even playing Premier League until he was 25. Viduka without a doubt had a more consistent career than any other Australian. Now that I think of it. Viduka>Cahill/Bresciano>Kewell. cadete
TBH I really for me Harry Kewell for that three year period he was at full flight really had Dukes and Cahill covered... And yes it did hurt to say that.
mus-28
I'd have to agree on Kewell, was amongst the best left sided attackers in the world while at Leeds. Injuries and ego seems to be his biggest downfall, Viduka would be a close second.
Popular Post Heart4Life
Surely Kewell can't be named the best Socceroo of all time, he never wanted to play for our NT to start with. Viduka is easily the best Socceroo and whenever I have doubts of this, I watch this video, it always makes me happy. 4 goals against Liverpool doesn't happen often, he was a great player for club and country and in my honest opinion doesn't get the respect or praise he truly deserves from the Australian public.
