alexiano
I wonder what might have been had redmayne not been first choice. Has anyone else thought about this slump also coincides with redders being #1 keeper. I know there are 10 people in front of him and whilst he's made some great saves there have been dome pretty sad goals through
Heart of Melbourne
Recruiting unfortunately has made our season the way it is. The pre season friendlies were an indication so the writing was on the wall.

Popular Post malloy
Recruiting unfortunately has made our season the way it is. The pre season friendlies were an indication so the writing was on the wall. Wrong. The squad is good enough to be fighting for a top spot. This is largely on JA. JA has no idea about tactics or implementing them, he knows nothing about adapting our formation to or tactics during a gsme if they are not working (which is nearly all the time). If you want to see what a good coach does, look at the differences between what AP does and JA does when making a sub. AP talks to the player giving clear instructions on exactly what he role he wants the player to play and how he expects them to influence the game. Where JA barely even speaks to the player. JA is a complete numpty. Our poor performances our entirely his fault. The board, however are to blame that we still have JA as manager.
alexiano
My Mrs made an interesting point in that JA isn't actually the coach. That's what fox and others are for. He's just the front man. That's why you see fox giving instructions etc.
samardzija
If you think we have a squad good enough to challenge for the top spot, or top 4 spot even, you have rocks In your head. How many of our first 11 players would be a lock in another teams starting line up? I said before the season we would fight it out for the last finals spot at best, I can dig up the post, I was practically crucified... We don't have any strikers apart from a maltese midget who couldn't hit the side of a barnyard. Our captain is highly injury prone, despite the fact he can play well. Kisnorbo can't keep his feet down. Behich has regressed. Dugandzic has regressed since being injured. Murdocca has always been an average player. Williams and GogGol are still flash in the pan players. Weilart looks like the only real credible signing, with perhaps Miglioroni. Aside from them, I don't see much else upside in our current squad. Tommykins
Sorry, how many people were jumping all over themselves to sign Beauchamp, Topor Stanley, Bridge, Cole, etc. when WSW did? Players clearly aren't the problem.

It's clearly not as good as what we thought during the preseason.

See, a lot of these issues have reared their heads under Aloisi though. Mifsud has played at higher levels than this and scored goals, Kisnorbo was a quality Championship defender for years, Behich was not regressing under JVS, injury or not Mate was much better before JA came as well. Murdocca is average but he's a serviceable A-League player and would get games for most clubs. I won't disagree on Williams and Golgol though. When I saw our squad on paper before the season (with a fit Engelaar obviously) I was confident we could compete for the minor premiership and do well in the finals. Shahanga
Hard to judge the list under this gaffer. JA would make Barcelona look poor.

Even that wasn't the end of the world, except inexplicably the board seemed to freeze in the headlights, just when we needed them to show some leadership. The season is gone of course, but the club can still get back on track fairly easily; just need some LEADERSHIP.
tigerou812
Hard to judge the list under this gaffer. JA would make Barcelona look poor. Thinking the same thing. With a good boss who knows what our team could do. Also Bolton was making a few mistakes that's why Redders took over iirc. We have been crap since JA took charge. His first preseason till now.
