  1. Both very unflattering stats Considering JVS was building a whole new club he should be given some bonus points.
  2. That's what happens in teams with no confidence. If we had scored the team anxiety from last season would have returned. Exactly if we had have gone up 2 - 0 in the first half it's naive to think that would have been game over.
  3. The thing is he should not have been given a chance in the first place.
  4. I'm getting sick of people "looking for the positives". Anyone finding excuses for a manager that has led a team to a year and a half of not winning outside Victoria is being silly.
  5. He said something yesterday about how he is inspired by how WSW were in a similar position 12 months ago. That's silly. It was WSW's first season. JA has already had a whole season!
  6. So... you were wrong many times before but this time is different?
  7. JA replaced. edit: sorry misinterpreted the thread. Thought the question was what needs to happen before we win outside of Melbourne.
  8. God I remember that winning streak. It was kind of amazing.
  9. Wow you guys are so tough yourselves- insulting football players anonymously on a forum.
  10. Postecoglou did not want him at Victory. Hmmm..wonder what has osieck's sacking and Postecogolou's appointment meant for Kewell's World Cup chances? And Harry's commitment to play the season out...? I'll admit it doesn't look great at first, but at the same time it might be exactly what Harry needs to fire him up and tear the competition apart if he wants another World Cup berth badly enough. Great observation on this topic. So far his first game wasn't too bad, the creativity is still there. Apart from that I must admit his entry into the team has been a little bit underwhelming, early days though to be fair!! Being one of the best players in the derby was a pretty good start if you ask me.
  11. That comment if even quarter true is just plain embarrassing. Seriously. It certainly seems to support my belief that JA lacks the right attitude to be a coach... always finding excuses, playing with fear etc etc. I'm worried that because we have a good team we will do okay this year, make finals and everyone will be happy... except that JA might just lead us to reasonable season after reasonable season. At what point will the board say "yes, but are we capable of winning the comp with JA any time soon?".
  12. No because it was ball to hand. Gerhardt's arm was in the air as part of balancing himself as he lunged for the ball. If you actually look at players they often have arms all over the place including way above their head in order to position themselves. I really don't understand trying to blame Gerhardt for that penalty. I'm not blaming gerhardt, it was accidental, although could have been avoided. I'm quite sure gerhardts hand was not down but was around shoulder/head height and the ball hit it knocking his arm backwards. Clearly he didn't stop a shot on goal but a cross. So if it shouldn't have been a penalty then what should it be????? For it to be a penalty it has to be intentional handball. Looking at the footage it's obvious there was no intention to handle the ball. So no penalty.

  14. It's not like his hands were up in the air David Carney style. No way in the world was that a penalty.
  15. And there's a photo of Gol Gol on the front page of guardian.com/au with the line " is this the year of Golgol?"
  16. http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/4021/a-league/2013/10/16/4336833/kisnorbo-lauds-tighter-heart-rearguard I'm afraid that I think there's a fair degree of optimistic crap being talked about that match. Nine times out of ten an A-League ref would have awarded a penalty when the ball hit Kisnorbo's hand, and Redders' save when the ball hit one of his legs was pure chance. It was a good point to take away, and we're going to have be very sharp against CCM. Be more negative That will be easy after we lose 2 - 0 to CCM.
  17. Not enough AFL bashing in this thread if you ask me.
  18. I don't know how much yoga or pilates footballers do but it might help a lot (you scoff but I'm serious). Or perhaps a martial arts like Aikido which is all about going with the flow and being centred both physically and mentally.
  19. A lot will depend on how Heart do as well. If we are struggling he could get very frustrated being as he's the captain and all. He wont accept pathetic performances I'm thinking.
  20. still 4 days away until kick off a few doses of antibiotics should do the trick Which have no effect on a cold. That kind of thinking is what is going to lead to a worldwide pandemic one day that antibiotics can't stop.
