  8. Dont know if this thread is needed, but its hard trying to find a thread to post info about Youth players on the cusp of breaking into the 1st team. I know we have a Youth section of the forum, but stuff always get lost and never read. Also its better then making individual threads for each youth player where only 1-2 posts are made. Anyways, heres a good piece on Iannucci Coming from an area more traditionally seen as a hotbed of Australian Rules rather than football talent, Iannucci described his experience of breaking into junior sides traditionally dominated by players from metropolitan Melbourne. “It wasn’t overly difficult,” Iannucci explained. “Just more, coming from regional Victoria, I hadn’t seen the quality from players in Melbourne, so I never really knew what was out there. “And because the quality wasn’t that high in the country it was easier to stand out. Going to try and get into representative teams I didn’t really think much of it; I didn’t think I was going to make the first representative team I made. “After that, you sort of get to know all the other players and you sort of get to understand where you fit in with stuff. At the beginning, it was sort of just like, give it a go, and then I started making a few of the representative teams and went from there really. RELATED: Keisuke Honda to juggle Victory with new Cambodian role “I was really shy, so I never really spoke to anyone. So, no one really knew where I was from until I was in the team. By then, I guess they were surprised because not many players from the country do get into these representative teams and play football, everyone’s really from the city.” Iannucci (centre) was recently a part of Melbourne City’s tour of India Iannucci has now set himself the ambitious task of breaking into the senior A-League side of Warren Joyce as a 17-year-old, even though the youngster faces a rather unique challenge compared to his older teammates. “Ideally (breaking into the senior side) this year, but, if not, I want to get looked at for next year especially. This year I just sort of want to see the level, just get used to the level that it’s all at when I’m training,” he said. “Next year I’d really like to be giving them a good shot to make the bench, make the matchday squad. “They’re (City’s A-League side) training five teams a week. I miss the Wednesday session because I’m at school and then Thursday and Friday I’m with the senior’s boys at the NPL. “I think eventually everyone wants to go to Europe. Clubs in Europe, big clubs in Europe, big leagues, play for the national team, all that sort of stuff. I just want to play with and around quality all the time.” https://dailyfootballshow.com/the-kid-from-cobram-gianluca-iannucci-looking-to-make-his-mark-on-city/
  9. Ugh. Guess Ill have to keep my fingers crossed for an Angel to post a youtube stream.
  10. Both Malik and Delbridge are both liabilities at the back. Malik only seems to have brain fades, he could be the best player on the pitch, then have an implosion (see our Semi final agaisnt Newcastle). Whereas Delbridge never gives me confidence at all when hes CB. Hence, I hate to say it but at this stage, Malik is our best option at CB with Bort. NB: I would have said La Rocca, but I have no idea what is going on with him.
  11. A little bit of A, a little bit of B
  12. Well in that case, im sure we have 3 youth players who are fringe 1st team quality. Minimum wage is $55k right? So we might as well have a squad of 20+3, and spend the extra $165k on signing a better quality VISA. Im sure most regular VISAs are on around $300k-$400k, being able to offer $565k could tempt a younger and higher calibre player. For example So an extra $165k would be a approx ~40%-60% wage increase of a typical Eredivisie player, which could be the difference in signing a 26-28 year old 1st team regular, rather then a 32-35 year old bench warmer. Imagine two Borts

I liked the idea of the site. For the last season in Melbourne, I think I managed to get 10 free tickets for friends and family plus even got my younger cousin a mascot spot.
  14. Are scholarship players included in the cap?
  15. Cant wait for 'Taste of the Americas', and then 'Frozen Meat of the Inuits'
  16. Have they announced which game will be on TV for the 29th? Surely our game would be the easy pick?
  17. Save forum ink, rename the African one. Or just call it 'International Cusine'
  18. Id hope that with any players we would finish in top 60%! The league really needs to get to 16 teams for finals qualification to have a bit more credibility
  19. Eto has signed for a club in Qatar. Hmm I would never have thought that the FFA war chest is more like a dollar shop jewerly box
  20. Yea Newcastle would seem more likely. Is their owner Chinese or Korean? Anyway, here is a 7 year old video with some OG YouTube music
  21. Watch us still get shit from every other supporter in the A League about signing the "worse/cheaper" Asian even though he have billions of dollars to spend apparently
