  1. Its a good legacy for Yarraside and the red and white campaign to have. That meeting seems to flies in the face of the people who thought that our home jersey was going to originally be our away and our away our third kit. I think they are committed to the red and white, as our away kit unfortunately, but still that's better that nothing. How many other a-league clubs fans other than ours have actually made an major impact on their clubs logo? 0. Very good point, even internationally, not many clubs fans can say they had a direct influence in the Logo
  2. Since the principles in the deal are brothers, it's not especially relevant. Who cares? you have an aversion to a LOT more dosh flowing into the club? The Sheikh is essentially paying himself. The Sheikh doesn't own Etihad, anyway that's irrelevant, the end result is A LOT of money flowing into Melbourne City, which can be used to upgrade facilities etc, I think that's the relevant bit here.

  4. @FOXFOOTBALL 12m Etihad named as @MelbourneCity shirt sponsor for 5 years. Believed to be most lucrative shirt deal in #aleague history
  5. Nice video on the tour, no idea how to add videos here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwSb6uOV3Tk
  6. While CFG is sometimes too tight lipped from the management side of things, over at MCFC (the english one) ,there is unparallelled access and content about the team and the day to day goings on at the club, I expect this to be replicated across the board, you can get an idea here We've got a short daily news segment called CityToday (5-6 mins),seasonal specials, various other backroom and player content and interviews and a weekly mini documentary on the goings on during the week called InsideCity usually around 20mins plus in length to name a few features, I expect a lot of this to be produced for Melbourne as well. the Best Part: unlike other English clubs with their exclusive content, all this content is absolutely free to everyone. You can get an idea here https://www.youtube.com/user/mcfcofficial
  7. how old are you? What a sad little man you sound like, learn some perspective and gratefulness in life, City didn't HAVE to do anything they've done so far they could've changed everything they wanted, they bought that right with the franchise for a considerable amount of money, whatever gestures they've done is because they value the heritage of their clubs and to have some respect for the fanbase, neither of which they were obligated to or had to do. some people like you deserve to be under someone like Vincent Tan to start to value proper owners. Got to say, I have no idea what your point is, and I say that as a fellow British City fan. You're saying that City deserve respect for buying the club and not choosing to do the worst case scenario? Isn't that a bit like someone putting a gun to your head and then telling you to thank him for not pulling the trigger? You seem to have forgotten that, at this point in time, City have done zero to actually help Melbourne, save for saying that David Villa will come over in a few months' time. Where is the stuff they have to thank City for? City have done zero to help the Heart, jesus mate Melbourne Heart is being taken to the next level behind the scenes in terms of facilities and resources, as the coach JVS alluded to recently, a professional testing tour of England has been organised to help them be in the best shape possible for the next season and several signings will follow, they've got two beautiful kits by all neutral accounts and things are only going upwards, And signing Villa do you realise how massive it is to bring someone like Villa to the A League? someone who is currently starting fr the world champions and just played the Champions League final? with all that to say they have done nothing is pure stupidity. My reply was for the childish post above when I see childishness I will call it out, dont care About the reaction "This whole experience has made me dislike Manchester City. From now on I'll be actively hoping for them to lose every game they play while enjoying all the money they spend on us." Awwwwie just because poor wee Jimmy doesn't have his colours, people who are making childish statements like this before even a SINGLE SEASON is done deserve jack shit . Thankfullly the majority are not so petty minded and the future success over the next 5 years as a club upholding the values of Heart of community and youth and as a team will be well deserved and show this individual and a few others what small minded bitters they sounded like within a few months. Wish the Heart (City) all the success in the future.

  9. Let's just assume for the sake of the discussion that you are correct, the problem always has been one of change management. There has been no dialogue, arguably no consultation (although CFG claim to have interviewed supporters, nobody has actually said that they've been interviewed) and communication has trickled only one way. Fans don't want to be managed, they want to be included and respected. We want to be stakeholders not customers That's a very fair comment, I think the consultation they've done hasn't been very open or publicised enough but I do believe keeping the colours for the away, having a permanent place for the colours in the new logo and the Heart of the City are significantly influenced by the supporter's passion. the home colours are of course clearly a City imprint and while its unfortunate they couldn't do what the supporters wanted with that, when you buy a Franchise for such a large amount of money with the commitment to take it to the top, there are some decisions you are entitled to take from a business and marketing standpoint for the best, Its a give and take process after all. Having said that though I do agree though that there has to be more communication with the fanbase because its clearly a massive period of change and uncertainity and the faith that they are doing what is best for the club will only come with experience of their methods, you will develop that within a few seasons but you can't be expected to believe that before experiencing it for yourself, I believe they could do a little more to brief the fanbase of their vision when possible. I see big things in the future for the Melbourne City/Heart though lads, and I have full faith the kind of purging of the memory of the Heart that some envision will never happen, they could've easily attempted that with MCFC but chose to highlight its history at every stage, the Chairman personally chose to seek out the top City historian to find out about the Clubs origins more and early indications are the history will be kept in memory here too, there will be no mini Man City either, each club is based on developing the local City and community, they've done it extensively in Manchester, started it in New York with soccer schools etc ad will be doing it again for the good City of Melbourne, united in marketing, business aspects and in the values of good football, youth and community, but distinctly a part of their local City, thats the vision. Enjoy the ride, it will be a lot more comfortable when that faith I spoke of earlier kicks in
  10. I see the Heart of The City slogan being used extensively going forward, did you guys notice the "Beating Heart" effect with the new logo at the start and the end of the Villa interview? The name is different but underneath The Heart beats on. CFG have shown at MCFC and will show at the Heart that they have no desire to purge any history from the club, they take steps to actively make sure history is remembered on the contrary BUT will make the changes necessary to make their imprint and evolve the club to the needs of the present and the future, for its own good
  11. You just did. That's okay though, you don't need an invitation to post. aha what I meant was I just wanted to comment from an aesthetic perspective on the two kits without going into the political of colours etc
  12. Not going to comment on the colour debate here but as an outsider commenting on how they look, those are two fucking immense kits lads, love them both, its not often you can say that as well when you look at some of the shite kits out there
  13. This is who you are now, Enjoy every moment lads and hope you thrash the Victory and shutup everyone who ever took the piss
  14. Enjoy your success lads, more is on the way,
