  1. I agree we have a shit list.. So sacking the coach what will that achieve?? In football terms not much, but for the supporters it will signal that this poor start to a season, plus not being able to win at home, plus losing 5-2 in the Darby and 5-1 to Wellington is not acceptable.. Thus sending a strong message through the club... The time is now... To rebuild this team it will take time unless the CFG can terminate contacts at seasons end, not sure who contracts are expiring but I would assume some payout will occurs...
  2. I've seriously had enough of this.. The rebuilding of this shambolic club is to big a task... Ever for the CFG... The CFG have not been seen at all this season, nor have they addressed any of the issues surrounding our club. All I have heard this week was "we need to stick together"... "We need to build a winning culture"... and then we get beat 5-1 combined with a shit and very un-professional performance... From what I saw today, JVS has lost the playing group, and also there are 5 players who need to be sacked. Williams, Kisnorbo, Weilart, Hoffman, and Redmayne. This is the core group that is bringing down the team... I will be there on Sunday vs Brisbane and I will make it my mission to yell abuse at every single Melbourne City player and JVS... You are all fucking shit...
  3. What a fucken disgrace.. I told everyone on here from day 1, the warning signs were there in pre-season against Sydney FC in the FFA cup and also against the CCM in lismore were we completely dominated and couldn't finish. JVS needs to be sacked ASAP .. This club is going down like the TITANIC...
  4. I just spoke to the membership department regarding my First Touch membership. I still have not received my signed Melbourne city kit and I have been given no specific date other than December!!! In regards to stepping on to AAMI park (another inclusion of First Touch membership) she could not tell me when that would be, if at all... after paying $750 for my membership this is quickly becoming a disaster... FFS is this club intentionally trying to Fuck everything up... Seriously if you put out membership packs at least honour them and deliver what you promised... Its so basic and we cant even get that right.... There is so much wrong with this club its not funny... as a member I'm hanging on by a thread... its been 5yrs of this shit...
  5. I hope the owners take note of how quickly the membership purchases dried up. From our first home game we got 15,500 people, 2nd home game just over 10k people and our last home game just over 9k. It's only round 7 and the hype has well and truly disappeared.. The owners say they are listening to the fans...????
  6. This what bad results and poor performances do, they take focus away from the playing group and shift it to matters off the pitch ie injured players, sacking coach, dropping players, and poor club culture.. If I remember correctly the new owners stated that it was important for the team to play well and get results as it keeps supporters, media and members happy. The focus is on football which allows the owners to run and implement new things behind the sense.
  7. Had it just been this season I may possibly agree with you- but its not. Every squad he has managed has shown the same characteristics and has pretty much the same win/loss ratio- so what the common denominator here? He is. His squad this season consists of good players who are far better than anyone elses in the league and the rest are of A-League standard. Yes, we have a gaps in particular positions, but whose fault is that? His- its his squad. Its not about instant gratification its about finding someone who can take us to eventually become the best team in Asia. He has had ample opportunity to show what he is made of and unless something drastic changes very soon I cant see it being him. I would love to be wrong here. I would love to see him become successful but nothing seems to be changing. I dont know what it is you see in him Murf. Maybe you made a bet with some dodgy gangsters and if he doesnt win silverware they will break your thumbs or perhaps you are just ridiculously stubborn and made your decision to stick by him quite some time ago so now you are just digging in your heels and finding any amount of excuses you can to deflect his responsibilities (and if that is the case i really respect it because i am just as stubborn on my opinions), but if you think he is anywhere near good enough to coach an A-League team to become the best team in Asia, I would love to hear your thoughts as to why. I just hate single cause explanations. The team isn't first? then the coach must then be shit. Bring in a good coach, and the team, no matter how many shit players it has, will win the league. This naive perspective that fixates on one factor does my head in. Completely disagree with this. I've disputed and refuted this enough times to go over it again, but the squad has serious weaknesses, mainly the back 4 and the keeper. And whilst the lack of a real striker/no 9 isn't a problem now, because enough players are chipping in with goals, the team would be much better if it had a proper no 9 (and not even a Berisha. A Bruce Djite would bring serious improvement). As I've said before, the whole salary capped squad couldn't be overhauled in 1 season. If we strengthened the GK and/or the back 4, then the club almost certainly wouldn't have been able to strengthen in midfield and on the wings, and we'd be complaining that we lack midfielders who can play the killer pass (like Mooy) and we don't have tricky wingers that can put dangerous balls in the box (like Duff). There was always going to be trade-offs, because we couldn't strengthen every weakness of 2013-14's season, so some weaknesses like the back 4/5 was always inevitable, although I'm rather disappointed myself that we couldn't get a LB (although it should be remembered that the Man City scouts didn't know what to scout for, quality wise, until the team went over to Manchester, so there was maybe some time constraints as well). I may be stubborn or firm in my opinion, but I am no more so that the few agitators that are calling for the coach to be sacked. And nearly all of this vocal lot have an axe to grind, and didn't want JVS appointed in the first place and have wanted him sacked ever since. That is stubborn and unyielding dogmatism. I'm not 100% sure of JVS' coaching potential, and whether he can be 'the best coach in Asia' (lets seriously judge the team though. Over the short-term, i.e. this season and next, the team should mainly focus on becoming the best in Australia, because we were far far from that last season). But I think he's good enough to be successful in the A-League, like Mike Mulvey, who is not a great coach, has been successful in the A-League. A coach doesn't need to be Jose Mourinho to win silverware, and I believe some people need to realise that. I think Melbourne City supporters fixate on the coach because we have had a coach single-handedly hurt and weaken the team and the whole club. But that is the exception, not the norm, and it needs to be realised that the coach alone doesn't completely explain a club's successes or failures. And to those trying to argue the case for the coach to be sacked, 2 questioned should be answered: - Name players from last season or before who were better under Aloisi. Are there any? JVS has improved a lot of players, like Dugandzic, Williams, Ramsay, Kisnorbo, etc. And I'd say those players have just about improved as much as they can, and if these players have been not up to standard under 2 coaches, Aloisi and JVS, then maybe players like Hoffman, Ramsay, Wielaert and co. are just shit, and it must be acknowledged that no coach could turn these players into world beaters, as some pretend. - Where should the team be now, 6 rounds into the club's first season post take-over? Despite the massive on the pitch failures of the team last season, the team is already 6th, and I'd say there's better arguments for the team to climb up the ladder from here, rather than slip down it. So where should the team be at now, and how, or how much, can the coach be faulted? I'm pretty certain I won't change the opinions of the stubborn agitators that have been arguing for JVS to go since he was appointed, so I probably won't say much more on the matter after this. But the above is why it would be unfair to argue for the coach to be sacked at this point. You bring up some good point in your comments however you seem to be only considering what is currently happening this season. You cant forget that JVS was our first coach and much of how the football department is run comes from his direct influence. if you look at our football performance from day 1 until now, including JA little stint ... not much has changed, we are still inconsistent, we still have a shaky defense, and we still lack a ruthlessness in our play. This has been clearly evident in all of our performances. The biggest problem we now have is our club culture, I agree that players are responsible for the performance and the missed chances are not the coaches fault (directly) but indirectly it is because whilst players can go through spells of poor form its up to the manager to minimize these spells and tough decisions need to be made. when these decision are not made the players become comfortable. For example against the CCM i think we all agree that Wilo cost us the 3 points when he missed that 1 v 1 which would of put the result 3-0 game over. So what will JVS do about that? How will JVS get a reaction from Wilo to send the message that its not acceptable to consistently miss chances that will cost the team 3pts. We play Syd FC on Saturday Wilo will start and play at least 70 min, my question is "Do you think that's acceptable"??? Wilo will continue to play with a smile on his face regardless if he scores, misses, plays 10 min or sits on the bench. JVS has full control and its up to him to get a reaction from the players. which he does't do.. This notion that we have shit players is a mute comments because we have the example of WSW who have used recycled players and won the ACL. I don't believe JVS will get the sack this season for 2 reasons. If they sack him now after round 7 it will set a precedence that our new owners are not patient and we will struggle to get any coach wanting to come to our club. 2nd at the moment the ladder doesn't look so bad, who would have predicted that Roar would lose its first 4 games, WSW to only have 1pt in Rd5 and the Jets are just rubbish. If we win this week we go to 9 points 3 point off Sydney FC... I don't think JVS is the coach to lead us to success and i have said that time and time again, I just hope that our new owners have a plan for a better coaching department.
  8. We are an inconsistent side. we will win games that we should lose, lose games we should win, draw games and it feels like a loss, and draw games that feel like a win. The team performance or lack there of, is a reflection on the manager and coaching staff. JVS is to soft and a nice guy hence why we don't have that killer instinct... Its a cultural problem not personal...
  9. Kisnorbo speaks to the media today ... "It's not Desperation Stakes" is this not the problem of our club??? We are 0 - 4 so far, got smashed in the Darby, lost at home, and drew to Newcastle at home... Just out of curiosity I would like to know, what has to happen for their to be "desperation stakes"??? Don't professional athletes need to be desperate and hungry from the start of the season???
  10. I love that fact that as supporters we are not getting sucked in anymore by these high profile signings.. Whilst it's nice to look at kennedys past, it's the future I'm concerned with.. Injury prone and a doggy back.. Assuming all at stars align and we can get Villa, Kennedy, Koren, Duff, and Mooy on the park all at the same time that would be awesome to see.. Welcome Josh.. I hope you can produce what this club needs ....... GOALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I agree with most comments we will lose this game, confidence is were it's always been rock bottom, and we seem to play other teams into form... This run of poor results and indifferent performances will continue until massive changes are made, and they won't happen until the off season...
  12. I was a big fan of Wilo but after what I saw on Friday night I have lost all respect for him.. He seemed to be more concerned with asking the Fox-sports camera man to snap shots of his boot and the crowed rather than playing a game of football.. He didn't seem concerned to be on the bench either... Easier life being a pro footballer, for Melbourne City that is...
  13. I just watched the reply of last nights game on fox sports... There was one passage of play that I think sums up our club from day 1. 70th min Murdocca wins the ball and passes to Villa on left wing near halfway line. Villa receives and goes on an electrifying run jumping over a defenders tackle and flying into the penalty area, he passes Mabil, and a 2nd AU defender, crowed is on its feet with eyes wide open... Villa Shoots and Golekovic saves which falls to Wilo .... The anxiety of the crowed sees Wilo sky rocket his shot from 6 yards out .... This club from day 1 has looked good, promised a lot, has made us all believe.... But can't seem to deliver and we don't have that final polish ...
  14. To be honest we need someone who can come in, and get rid of the dead wood in the squad and begin to build a team, culture, and winning mentality... Like Gombau has done for AU.. I'm just so sick of this mediocrity and it's getting really hard to continue to supports this rubbish.. and to defend these results against supporters from other teams... It's been 4yrs and we don't even look like a competitive side... I don't even care about winning the league or the ACL... Just make us a competitive fucken team.....
  15. At the end of the day his a visa player and he should be playing... I agree he looked over weight and he seems to have lost pace as well. He needs to be sacked as well..
  16. Now the Villa has left, the attention and questions will now turn to JVS and his coaching position .. This is like the Aloisi days all over again. Players will feel the weight of the coaches position. CFG the time to act is NOW... We lost 2500 attendants today from the Newcastle game.. We will lose a shit load more after tonight disaster....
  17. The amount of times Villa was free wide on the left and didn't receive it was unbelievable.. I don't think Paartulu passed the ball once to him all game, Mooy maybe twice... Villa is not the problem but for some reason some players refused to pass the ball to him..
  18. When I read the post about JVS should be sacked and reasons are because players are not performing, doesn't make sense to me. Listening to the SEN show on the way home and Diego got it spot on. The issue is the culture of the club and the lack of character within the playing group and coaching staff... He referred to us as the team of nice guys.... The reason why I want JVS removed is because I don't see him as a first team coach... Assistant? Yes!, Youth Coach? Yes! But not first team coach. But more importantly if he gets the sack it will send shock waves through the club and the playing group. This is what is needed.. If that happens, I won't think that all of a sudden we are going to win the league but all the players including Scott Munn, JD and the rest of the coaching staff we be but on notice... Perform or your out...
  19. Where do you start? Let me just say that I believe our greatest problem is our low Standards as a club culture. This is what I observed from the game tonight, (first touch member) We start the game brightly against a good Adelaide team. Again we fail to utilise Villa as an attacking weapon. Villa constantly demanding the ball off his team mate, but nothing happens. Villa having a heated discussion with JVS on the touch line about not receiving the ball ... Frustration growing. Adelaide equalise and the City supporters stop signing (the core melbournians continued) 2nd Half Players and coaching staff start to come out from the tunnel David Williams doesn't seem to up set at being on the bench (smile from ear to ear) and asking the photographer to take pics of his shoes and the crowed. Coaching staff having a private laugh together ( keep in mind we are 1-1 and we are playing at home) Game finishes 2-1 Villa and Duff storm out of the ground frustrated, angry, heads shaking.. Mean while the rest of the boys are on the ground having a good old chat with each other (might be discussing plans for tonight) Not much booing from supporters .. Those were my observations of tonight's game ... We have bigger problems than football at our club... Our culture is one of "Low Standards"
  20. The English thing is a valid point, every time we have heard Villa speak it's been through interpreters. I also think that Villa is more of the "old school" professional were he isn't comfortable in the spot light and doing media... Like Duff... I disagree with the point made about the MLS ... If he plays in the MLS like he did in the Darby he will be a superstar there coz it's a shit league...simple...
  21. Lol raw10... Very good.. From what was said on SEN we should all feel good about the new ownership, it's clear to me that they are here to make Melbourne City a successful club and a force in Australia and Asia... I do feel that they have underestimated the league and it might take time before we start to see any real change. JVS has underestimated the league since he arrived 4yrs ago..
  22. I have no doubt that if we had better results in our first 3 games our membership would be near 12k... I have been approached by at least 10 people from work asking me about the A-league and Melbourne City FC in particular off the back of the Darby. For most sporting followers on the outer looking in still feel that we are a new club and have asked lots of questions about D. Villa... It's been amazing how many people are having conversations about football... I'm doing my best to promote our club but the players and coach need to start performing ... If we do I predict that by next Darby we will have 15k members...
  23. I thought it was interesting today on 1116 SEN the Victory CEO Ian Robson stated that at the Darby last weekend Melbourne City FC director of Football Brian Marwood along with The City Football Group hierarchy were there in attendance even though Manchester City FC were playing against West-ham United ... It shows that the CFG are serious about the investment into Melbourne City and the A-League... I can't imagine how they were post game given the shocking result but they would of been impressed with the A-league standard of football... Gives me confidence as a supporter and member to know that the owners are here and they have an eye on what is going on... JVS big brother is watching!!!!
  24. Villa has been good in terms of marketing the club even though the media have always said his only a guest player. But I honestly think the Villa at Melbourne City has been spoiled by the clubs inability to handle curtain expectations and I think they have made a real mess of the situations around him leaving and his arrival...
  25. I hope there is a banner that tells the new owners that we are a serious club with serious long suffering supporters and members and we will not accept the rubbish seen on Darby day. In previous seasons the Yarraside took to long to show our frustration ... We will be lucky to get anything from this game.. If Adelaide come to win. I'm expecting a serious shake up to our starting 11... A message needs to be sent to the playing group...
