  1. I can't believe I paused the Mogwai song I was listening to so I could hear this. Blegh.
  2. Michael Holding was commenting a cricket match when he said "there are two canals outside the ground, and he's hit that ball to the far canal". Well done Tommykins - you've hit that for six. There are soooo many teams around the world with limited budgets and poor facilities which impede player payments and the ability to attract "stars". Yet they punch above their weight. Their success can be attributed to a sound culture and strong leadership. It's early days in our history, but this is where the gold is. This is where we are failing. Swansea City is an example here, limited budget, but a good coach, good mentality and culture, and guess what. They are 9th at the moment in only their second PL season, they won a cup after beating the likes of Chelsea and they are going through to the Europa league next year. Swansea carefully built a team of mostly young players under Brendan Rogers, play a consistent style and have continued to recruit well. This is the secret to their success, not as simple as the coach. Michael Laudrup has done well at Swansea but failed at several clubs in Spain prior to coming to the EPL. I think that the idea was to compensate for the coaching inexperience by adding experience on the pitch this season - great idea but we added experience without on field leadership I know that's what Swansea did, I just couldn't explain it as well as you haha .

  4. Well, I suppose that you are right in saying that their crowd management techniques do not align with active area expectations. I think that they misinterpret various things such as moshing etc as being malicious acts. I also understand not standing on seats etc, but too many times have I seen ACG seccos violently push people off seats. It seems as if they think they need to act in this manner to get their points across whereas the proper thing would be to handle situations in a more diplomatic manner, as opposed to pushing people of seats when they stand on them etc.
  5. I think another big issue is that security aren't trained well enough to deal with active support.
  6. The saddest part is that the security who is present at the local hardcore gigs I go to would do a better job than ACG...
  7. Even though it may be different to what most here are into, I love this haha!
  8. I actually think just leaving would have made a bigger impact, in fact that is what I thought we were initially doing, with that being said though, it was the right idea in moving to another section, but when we just started chanting at the RBB is when it got cringeworthy. I also can help but laugh at the reaction, I did have a chuckle and facepalm at a guy who called up Triple M complaining about Yarraside, saying 'hoody' was one of us and going on to proclaim that we are 'burning our stadiums with flares'. A really 'Won't somebody please think of the children' moment. The club needs to handle this maturely, they cannot do something overtly reactive in case it aggravates the situation, doing something like 'banning active support' for a game would be the absolute worst move possible (Not saying it will happen, but a kneejerk reaction like that would not surprise me). We need to be vocal in the mistreatment we get from ACG, with the hope of changing it. I also think it is an Australian culture thing in terms of flares, protesting etc. I was telling my music teacher about it today who is English and he was laughing about it, he thought it was funny that we moved to the other end and when I told him it was next to the West Sydney supporters. I told him about the flare and he just shrugged and acted as if it was no issue. So yeah, I think it is somewhat cultural aswell.
  9. Haha I am all good Still, it was a stupid move by ACG to evict Ando in that manner considering how liked he is. They made a real mess of it.
  10. Got pushed down a row of seats, sprained my ankle. Still hurts and I've gotta work today. Inconsiderate bastards.
  11. Am I the only one who hates West Sydney 10,000x more after tonight? I hate the RBB's high and mighty hypocritical attitude after tonight's events, claiming that we are shit supporters and they do no wrong. Their supporters get wrongly evicted 'SILENT PROTEST' when the same thing happens to one of us 'Pfft, sucks to be you'. I hate the fact that the FFA have essentially guaranteed that they will be successful through all of their funding and all of their concessions to them (Extra Marquee etc). I hate the fact that they have the media and the FFA in their pockets. I just really hate them.
  12. I think that everybody was in a foul mood anyway, Ando getting kicked out just pushed everyone over the edge. Just a shit season, caught up with all of us.
  13. Gotta laugh at other supporters acting all high and mighty.
  14. I got pushed down a row of seats and sprained my ankle. I actually had no idea we were going to the north end, I thought everybody was just leaving the game in protest. What annoyed me was people moving to the other end just to have a go at the RBB.
  15. The reason I say that they should wear black is because it eliminates all white from their kit.
  16. WSW's home is more black than red so I would say both teams in home kits. WSW should wear black shorts though.
  17. I know haha! I just prefer it as just Melbourne Heart without sweet I think we are on the same wavelength here
  18. It doesn't seem to work as well in my head even though it is the same amount of syllables haha.
