ecguymer
I've noticed that nothing seems to have been said anywhere about the youth league since last years grand final, and I feel I need to ask: is it still happening this season or have the FFA quietly dropped it without telling anyone (or taking down it's site)? And if it is happening, when are we going to find out...well...anything?? Edited October 27, 2016 by jw1739
jw1739
The site is still there, but the last entry is about last season's GF. http://www.y-league.com.au/ But that's nothing unusual with FFA and the various clubs. For example, City's web-site still has last season's W-League squad there rather than the signings so far for this coming season. These are the sorts of areas where, IMO, the communications break down. And where I think the required improvement will deliver more interest in the game as a whole. As above, even our own club could improve its performance. Failure to reply to posts on "City Voice" being an example.
bt50
Reasonably confident that they announced last season as the last due to all clubs finding NPL homes.

Really need the NPL season to overlap the A-League season more so than currently if the NYL is completely gone.

Well, FFA announced the officials squad for the 2016/17 NYL season only a few days ago.http://www.a-league.com.au/article/ffa-announces-201617-match-official-panels/f9i4h6vanu1o121ft3du1v3wo

ecguymer
...and the regular season only has 8 games.....and they are sticking with the "conferences", with all the teams in and around Sydney in one, and everyone else in the other..... Mainly it's the best of this seasons NPL team competing, with players such as Cavallo and Crowley who are on scholarship contracts in there as well
citymad
First game of NYL for city is at CB smith v adelaide. Get along to check out some of the impressive youth on diplay. Its a must win as there is only 8 games so you cannot afford to lose 1 single game.
