  1. Won tickets to that Heart of Business lunch today and David Gallop was very specific and very proud about football not being implicated whatsoever in this betting scandal. Stated that no A-League games were being investigated so not sure what this $40m game is. Spoke to Julius, the Heart media manager, afterwards and he confirmed that Heart had come out clean, not involved in this mess at all. So that's good news.
  2. I got a decent video of us chanting at the end. Won't post it as it has some faces. If anyone who was present wants to see it, just come find me at the Imp next pre-game
  3. Would rather not repeat it - suffice to say it was an extended exchange between us, several people around us got involved and a fight nearly broke out. Not really what you want to see between fellow Heart supporters. But yeah, said in my first post they were clearly Derby specials.
  4. If that's directed at me, I stand in active every week. I love the atmosphere and do my bit to contribute for the 90min. Last night was the first time I ever felt unsafe in Yarraside, and abused for not having a dick dangling between my legs. That's why I was disgusted mate, that and the lack of singing except for the jolly old "We hate Victory". Nothing to do with chairs, broken or otherwise. Think these were the same guys that had a go at Yianni for his banner. Would love to see them contribute to the terrace in any real way before they start abusing those who do. Just goes against the entire terrace culture. [/rant]
  5. Oh really? Ok well I'm just going off last season. Where is he off to then? Or is he just focussing on Heart fulltime?
  6. Pretty disgusted with a lot of our own fans last night. Mainly the derby specials. Had an incident with a bunch of drunk misogynistic non-chanting wankers guys in the row behind me. Spoilt a lot of the night for me. Disappointing when the effort on the pitch was actually very heartening. Hope we can build on that for next week. Tadic injury another blow for us but thank goodness we've got Eli back, and there's always DMac rotting in the reserves too.
  7. Zois is Oakleigh's coach during VPL season.
  8. I for one came out of the forum feeling much more positive than when I went in - both in general, and in terms of confidence in JA. As someone said above, it seems like the club is becoming aware of the issues surrounding the club, particularly the difficulty in balancing the different goals of the club (balance sheet, community focus, youth development & silverware). Having said that, JA seemed like the one most in tune with fans' frustration - often in response to a question from the floor, Sidwell would say "you've clearly been talking with JA", stating that they had had several meetings across the season with JA pushing for a strong, stable team as the top priority. It was pointed out by someone that one of the best ways to break even and get more members would be to win something, and JA is a strong advocate of this as well (perhaps obviously as that is his job). The changing tactics after halftime/resorting to long balls/not pressing for the ball are all apparently player-driven actions, completely against JA's instructions. He even said it would be 'stupid of him' to instruct the team to sit back and defend because we simply don't have the players to do that, we're no CCM. So the question is, why aren't the players doing what he tells them to? He blamed a lot of this on youth, lack of experience, and the need for a strong leader on the park. He had hoped that Grella would fill this position and inspire the other players to lift, but it wasn't meant to be. Urgently looking for someone else now. Clearly the problems are still there, still the same as before the forum, but I feel more confident that something will actually be done to address them. Whether that's in time to save this season, is another question.
  9. I share a car with my sister, but will try to negotiate permanent access for Wednesday nights. Pending this, IN
  10. Nice one Stretch. Great job. Agree that a post-season review is probably the best way to go, so long as proper policies are then implemented.
  11. Those are probably questions for the club, but I can tell you that when I bought mine this year I was able to get it next to somebody. Not that it matters. Once you're in Active, you probably won't even know which one your official seat is. You stand where you like. So yes, you can technically get memberships together anyway...
  12. This is fantastic, exciting news in every aspect except the physical location of the stadium. Will be amazing to have a winter team to really support with some of the same faces we see in summer - plus promotion/relegation makes everything more interesting. The stadium itself is very nice too I have to say, cosy in the sense that you sit very close to the pitch, it's undercover so useful for winter, and the pitch is nice. It's just an absolute bitch to get to. It's a good hour's drive from my place, and that's in fairly kind traffic. Worse, it's about 10 minutes DRIVE past Epping train station so if you're taking PT you're either in for a long walk or a taxi... not sure if there is a bus along that road. Tbh that's the type of thing government should fund if they're serious about supporting community development in a high growth suburb etc. Of course if there's already a bus that makes things easier but I doubt frequency would be high on a Sat or Sun! Ah well, maybe we can organise Yarraside CarpoolingTM or something. Still a very exciting concept and I love seeing Heart make these kind of proactive and novel decisions.
  13. Yep pretty keen on this idea! Would get Yarraside and the general crowd more involved than just saying "wooo" as each name is announced haha.
  14. There was nearly a punch-on started in front of me on Friday when some idiot threw a hot drink at a flag-waver after yelling abuse at him for a while. The terrace is meant to be the place where we all unite to demonstrate our support for the club - flags are a key part of that. If you don't like them, then as others have said you can always move, as the flags are not. You should definitely not be abusing your fellow Yarrasiders ffs. Anyway I love the idea of the Luna Park mouth, pretty convenient that it's already red and white too! Could somehow do a play on words with AAMI Park and a picture of the moon (luna)? Or maybe have the lips as the entrance to AAMI, and a caption of "our playground"? or "Melbourne's playground"?

    Trumpet Notes

You must be working from a different key Alex but if you're right the gap from A down to D is 3.5 tones which is the same as E-A which is what I suspected it was. So the final note is a low A on trumpet. Working from that, the other line would be...A C E G E. Hmmm. That's quite different from the sheet music, but I guess if it sounds better who cares! Also the Spain song would be epic but is a lot more complex and would definitely require sheet music. Find it and we can learn it!

    Trumpet Notes

    Been working on the transposition, got most of it now, just not quite sure what the very last note is meant to be. Can you work it out Bozza? Thinking it might be a low A... Also I'm not really happy with how the second section sounds even though that's what the notes say. Thoughts anyone? Referring to the line that repeats 3 times. Trumpet Version D G G F A F G D D G G F A F G D G G F A F G D D G G F A F G C D E Gb E C D E Gb E C D E Gb E E E E E E E ? „Garcia!“ Valve Version 13 0 0 1 12 1 0 13 13 0 0 1 12 1 0 13 0 0 1 12 1 0 13 13 0 0 1 12 1 0 0 13 12 2 12 0 13 12 2 12 0 13 12 2 12 12 12 12 12 12 12 ???? „Garcia“
  17. Doing my bit. Managed to convince my cousin to come along today - all I had to do was offer to shout him dinner! Pretty stoked he said yes as majority of my family are going out of town together Friday lunchtime for the weekend, so my options for asking people were pretty slim. Nevertheless - one Melburnian at a time, right? Haven't broached the topic of buying a membership with him yet, will try to convince him at the pub haha.

    Trumpet Notes

This is the best I got for the Garcia chant so far - it's the piano version though so needs to be transposed up a key for trumpet. These pictures are the free previews of the first page - you had to pay to view the rest, so the end of the song is cut off but we should be able to work it out from here. Sorry if the pictures are too big!
  19. I get lots of "I don't like sport". Tough one to negate, that. Any amount of "just give it a go" doesn't really work on someone who's convinced it's 2 hours of their life they'll never get back. Then there's the standard "I support Victory". Even though they've never been to a match.
  20. If Bozza's trumpet/trumpeting is well received this week I can bring mine along in the future too to create double the sound Pending approval etc but if they allow one trumpet I don't see why they wouldn't allow two...
  21. So excited to see this finally get off the ground. I see this song having so much potential as a morale booster and unifier of fans all around the stadium. It's a way to stop the sometimes abrupt distinction some people feel between "the Yarraside who sing" and "the regular people who don't". If the dream is to eventually get full active support from all sides of AAMI then this is a great place to start, in my opinion. Get behind the song everyone, even if you're not quite sold on it, it's about much more than a few lyrics here or there!
  22. Didn't realise we could afford a second away trip? Great news! Or did you think you could sneak to NSW without me haha
  23. Been putting some thought into this as I love the idea of this song being belted out on matchdays. How about replacing that line with something amazingly simple like "my heart will be true"? Or "my Heart will be true" if you prefer? Currently: "when you're with me baby the skies'll be blue, for all my life" Suggestion: "when you're with me baby my Heart will be true, for all my life" Seems in line with the tone of the rest of the song. Anyway feel free to shoot me down in flames as is usual on these forums
  24. Yeah I went to training last week Wednesday and had a chat with him. Apparently he had a grade 1 hamstring tear, at the time was still going through personal rehab/solo training but was hoping to be back in light training with the squad on Sunday and full training sometime this week. He was hoping to be fit for the Adelaide game but thought it was probably a bit too optimistic, thought he should definitely be back for next week though. Yay!
