  1. Took me 10 minutes but that was due to their unfriendly system. Kept trying to find active area as was only when I scrolled down and found it that I bought it. Been buying AFL finals and concerts tix online for years, but never had as much trouble as this morning. Ticketmonster kept allocating tix where I didn't want to be, so I understand the frustration of others.
  2. Was a great night at the Imp, standing room only and lots of singing and chanting. Security were counting people as they entered to avoid overcrowding. Bar staff in Melb City tee shirts (looked great) which were given away free to anyone that wanted one (a big thank you to the club). Atmosphere was electric and when we scored that first goal the place erupted. 2nd goal even better. Tony had us chanting between the bars "split the pub", and when the final whistle was blown it was awesome. Lots of hugging, even saw a few people in tears of joy. Best rendition of Happy Together and the greatest night of football ever (without being at the game). "We're coming for you..."
  3. Have to watch that you haven't already selected adult tix as it wants the promo code for each selection. I had done this and when I got to active it said not available. Had to retrace my steps and remove previous selections. I've been buying tix for decades and today's was one of the hardest systems to work with. But I've got a ticket to the derby we had to have and am pumped!
  4. Took ages to find the active area, it's about 10 deep in ticket options. Aisle 23-25
  5. Got mine, 25 - G54. Very complex process,, had to wade through multiple options to find active area.
  6. Can't really bring in the seats with the AFL season in progress, stuffs us the surface too much. We should take it as a bonus final that we weren't expected to see in Melbourne.
  7. If we get past the Nix, we get a crack at the Visitors the following week. Wishful thinking, but it would be a great way to end the year, the first final derby!
  8. They would have got more value for money from the pub.
  9. http://www.theage.com.au/business/property/melbournes-imperial-hotel-for-sale-20150407-1mg1p5.html The Imp is up for sale for about $10M. If CFG wanted to have a bigger presence in Melbourne, why not buy our pub and make it our official CBD supporter base?
  10. Good save, Tando. Shocking conditions now, a draw would be welcome.
  11. Tando seems all at sea tonight, been caught out a few times. Fortunately they've sprayed the ball.
  12. Seemed to be a few arguments and they left for the other end. Was quite funny as there was more ACG security down the south end and hardly any left behind in our terrace.
  13. Its our first silverware under either MH or MC names No doubt it will look good in our brand new headquarters at Latrobe :-)
  14. We can always give Nicky Kalmar another go seeing as he turns up in the selected side shown on the AAMI Park screens and Foxtel each week ;-)
  15. I love both games but am fed up with AFL fans knocking this great win tonight. Spent most of the night defending our game against morons that think it's boring. Tonight was 2 hours of the most intense TV I've watched for years. Ready for a big game at AAMI later today. Asian champions has a nice sound to it! Last night I had someone tell me that soccer is basically all down to luck. Yeah, because playing a game with an oval-shaped ball involves no luck at all! Luck is something St Kilda supporters know about with the ball bouncing away from Steven Milne in 2010 grand final.

  17. Certainly put me off supporting them. The active area in the north terrace has generally been made up of victory supporters for most games.
  18. I'm recording the Socceroos game just in case I don't get back in time. Will then just watch the recording and fast forward thru half time.
  19. Terrible organisation by Asia Cup ticketing. I had a venue pack, but had been moved for two games. When tickets arrived just before Xmas, I didn't thoroughly check them and on Saturday realised I was missing tix for the games I'd been relocated for. Spent an hour on the phone to Ticketek to be told to get them at the ground. Email from last week said ticket box would open 30 mins before gate, so got there at 5:15 and queued for almost an hour as they didn't open till 6:00. Would have been 30 ahead of me and finally got them at 6:15. Rang them this morning and waited another 15 mins to tell them of my complaint. Ticketing agencies in Oz are a disgrace, charging ridiculous fees for no service. Spent more time in queues than the actual game took, but it was worth it as it was a great game and fantastic crowd atmosphere.
  20. Great game so far, crowd electric. Would be great if Melb City could pull a crowd like this every home game.
  21. Looks like ACG just stopped the huge Iran tifo. They got it out, displayed it, then rolled it up. AFG then pounced on the guys with it. Shame AFG couldn't save the Bunnings chairs at the darts last night ;-)
  22. Sitting near the Iran active area, looks well organised. Crowd on the wing making lots of noise 30 mins before kickoff. Should be a fun night :-)
  23. We sat near the active area and they only had about 3 chants, ole ole Aussie, super Tim, and clap clap Aussie. Heard more chants passing the pubs in Swan St. There were moments where there was no singing or chanting at all. But we enjoyed the game and the Socceroos deserved better from the crowd. As I read somewhere, more of a "special event crowd" than a true football one. We're 3-1 up, pressing for a 4th goal and they're trying to start Mexican waves and throwing paper planes :-)
  24. We were lucky that Tando's red card was outside the box and that Redders didn't have to face a penalty in his first game back.
  25. Merry Christmas Melburnians and fellow Melbourne City supporters. Let's hope the new year brings us many great wins.
