  1. Redmayne Gray - Colosimo Grella Mifsud x7 Coach: John Aloisi
  2. Didn't happen today but I was watching an local AFL match on Saturday. A guys set-shot was heading towards goal until a seagull (somehow) flew into the path of the ball and got hit. Everyone seemed to watch the bird slowly fall to the ground, until one of the forwards plucked the ball out of the air and snapped a goal. The crowd later realised the bird wasn't dead after the bird pecked one of the players trying to take the bird off the field.
  3. Are you sure? How many times has your 2 year-old scored 13 goals against American Samoa? Even if he had, I doubt our club would want your son as he doesn't have a long history of injuries (I hope) and isn't over the age of 33 It's my daughter thats how confident I am she'll playing for Archie lol. Plus she can't kick goals so she'll slot right into the squad. Your Daughter? Jesus I'd keep her well away from Archie then...knowing his history.
  4. There could only really be one winner... Even so I think Redders was a bit unlucky not to get a look in.

  6. We can forget about our finishing problems with this guy! Archie once scored thirteen goals against American Samoa! That's right... American Samoa! That's more goals in one game than David Williams in one A-league season! On that stat alone he is good enough to warrant an Aus marquee salary and at just 36 he still has plenty of years left in him! We're Ganna win the league with Archie!

But as much as I would rather fold the club than have this guy in our squad, Imagine the Victory fans reaction if he did sign for us! The backlash would be priceless! Backlash?? rather we become more of a laughing stock.. They are happy to have him go IMO. Agree it would be laughable for a club with off-season ambitions like ours to sign him. It's not going to happen anyway. My point was more that he is a cult figure at Victory so if he were to leave for their biggest rival, I imagine the fans would make their disappointment at his move pretty well known at future derbies. I mean they still boo Velaphi and he barely played for them! Imagine how the visitor fans would react if a club hero like Archie moved to City!

  9. Willo to CCM with 5 confirmed sauces: On a serious note, it'll be interesting to see where Dave goes. I wouldn't mind keeping Hoffman if he is happy to stay on a low wage.
  10. Wasn't he being linked with Central Coast in January? Not sure how reliable that info was as IIRC the rumour came from SST. If we do decide to get rid of him, which seems likely, I imagine his pace and ability to sometimes make a decent impact off the bench would make him a pretty exciting prospect for a club like CCM or Newcastle.
  11. No Has he played at all in the last few rounds? I thought I saw him a couple of time against Wellington but I could be wrong...

    Aaron Mooy

Seriously?! To not have him number 1 is bad enough but not even top 5?? He was way better than bloody Barbarouses, Carrusca and Cirio this season! Other players in the league must hate him or something?
  13. You've managed to determine this based on having an account for two days. OK. Actually I managed to determine this through being an almost daily reader of the forum months prior to setting up an account and making this topic. But clearly I forgot to mention that before posting.
  14. Good luck getting Boulahrouz and VDV to play together!
  15. Are you telling me that Augustine Sokan will to play for Melbourne Herat FC?
  16. Unless of course you're at Etihad and the benches block your view of half the pitch, that makes it more acceptable. TTIM: A-league games at Etihad
  17. Obviously we have a lot of different people on this forum with various personalities, opinions and backgrounds. Sometimes members don't see eye-to-eye and there is the occasional dispute, yet most of us keep on coming back and adding to the forum. This made me wonder about everyone's reasons for coming back to this forum so regularly? In short, What things make this forum so good that checking it has becoming a part of many of our daily/weekly routines? I mainly check this place for rumours and banter, but why is everyone else here?

Klose a bit old for my liking, but I could probably overlook his age given the fact he is a great finisher and a good bloke. I like Drogba, but i'm not sure how committed he would be to the club. Knowing our love for signing injury-prone marquees, I expect us to make a strong play for Mario Gomez as he has had a few injury troubles of late.
  19. Typical City performance really. We can't finish our many shots on goal, and the opposition go down the other end and show us how to do it (aided by some poor defending on our part) Etihad is just an atrocious stadium. When David Williams went down, this old bloke (who was with his wife and kids) called Willo a cunt and told him to stop faking it. Following David's eventual substitution, I turned around and said 'but I thought he was faking it?'. He then proceeded to call me a fuckwit (among other things) in front of his family , despite the fact that it pretty was clear that I was the same age as his kids. I wasn't really affected by this event, but I just thought it was a mildly amusing insight into the level of ignorance and intelligence displayed by some (or most?) Victory fans. Just can't stand people who can unnecessarily dish it out to players, but can't cop it on the chin when they are wrong or when someone has a different opinion to them. Although it's the sort of one-eyed shit that I've come to expect from Victory supporters. Best part of the night was the almost instantaneous boos that followed my applause for Mooy whenever he came to take a corner. I swear there was dead silence until I started clapping. Also seeing Paddy thrown up forward reminded me a bit of the JA days, which was also made me laugh a bit. Anyway, an alright season I suppose? Just need to clear some deadwood and sort out what the hell is happening with the 2 marquee spots and we are looking good for next season!
