  1. I think management has got the view that since it is a salary cap league with a small squad size, being able to have flexible players is a positive. If you sign 11 players that fit perfectly into a formation, they will proberly win and be succesfull, just look at Sydney. This is of course a good thing. But unlike Sydney, what happens if some players get injured? Our club has a horrible history of injuries (a whole other can of worms), so imagine if we signed 11 specialized players, and as usual 2 VISA players are injured for 3 months and another few players pick up injuries. We would be more screwed more then we are now! But I think CFG/Melbourne City are over thinking it. They probaly have boffins in Manchester who did all the statistic and prediction analysis and thought "There is a much lesser chance of our game plan being disrupted if we sign players who are flexible, while not moving away from the CFG Style".
  2. I think it is a misconception that we sign dud VISA players. In comparison to other clubs, I think we have had some of the best success. It is the injuries that blur the view. Which imo is not a player issue, but a training/management issue.

    I wonder...

I bought a Heart (season 2) scarf from VIC Markets when I first came to Melbourne. I didnt buy a shirt in the final Heart season (wish I did), but I bought our first City kit with that decent discount members got. My City shirt is falling apart but I doubt I will ever replace it.
  4. As much as I love him, Bort cant be two people EDIT (Improvement): Bort is not Tasmanian, he doesn't have two heads to cover the arial work of two players.
  5. Good point. No idea how good RDL will be in the air as a CB though.
  6. Hes been decent at CB? Only person that could replace him is La Rocca, and hes played worse
  7. Finally someone sees it. Sydney were up our arse the moment we had the ball. Whereas when they had the ball, all the City players were hold their position with no press. That has to be a tatic. My (uneducated) theory is that the game plan was to let Sydney have the ball make them do all the work, hence making them tired after the 3 day turn-around. If that was correct, then it backfired horribly and we had no plan B.
  8. There has been no confirmation of the cap going next season. Don't get your hopes up
  9. I'm confident if Waz got the sack during the season, Kisnorbo would be caretaker. Hopefully not Vidosic or the other assistant
  10. Since City have taken over we've been in the top 3 for squad worth each season.
  11. I'm just concerned about the rumour that he was out until 4am the day of the game
  12. I can't remember well, but wasn't their some interference from his parent club?
  13. On a positive note, we had the highest crowd of the round. 4th highest City/Heart non-derby crowd. The other 3 were the ADP and Villa games.
  14. I'd love to see Najjar be given 10 mins at the end of a game, just to see what he's got againt seniors.
