  1. Lowry has rejected the idea of coming to the A-League, saying there is interest from a number of other championship clubs. Article is on The World Game, if anyone can link it.
  2. I heard all the players and staff are being flown over for City's last game as them winning the title is pretty much a done deal.
  3. Eh. Didn't really say anything definite and it's pretty much all been reported anyway. And I'm not questioning you I'm questioning the information being given and it's truth. Its possible but I wouldn't think JD would be risking his position/job giving information out to anyone. I wouldn't think... Yeah fair enough.

  5. Any news on OE? Nah but he's gone I imagine.
  6. Word from JD's uncle: - Josh Kennedy almost definitely Aus marquee. - We have 2.5mil to spend on an international marquee, Joe Cole is a name they're looking at. The second point has been stated in articles. Not sure what that means about the claim that City don't do any business through the media.
  7. Word from JD's uncle, who my mother of all people happens to work with: - most probable kit change: sky blue home, red and white away. Pretty much backing up what the sheikh said.
  8. Possibly and also just because Wanderers rotate like crazy and he played so much early on in the season.
  9. The same Murdocca who played regularly in arguably the best side to have played in the a-league? ie. Roar under AP. Murdocca was probably one of our most consistent players and does a decent job at being the link in midfield. The problem was the lack of genuine quality occurring in front of him most of the season. He was moving the ball forward at various stages to Williams, Kalmar, an injured Kewell or inexperienced Mauk as opposed to Broich, Berisha, McKay etc. Obviously someone of Engelaars ilk is a class above in that role but there are far worse players we could have than Murdocca. As for Mauk he is developing nicely. Is starting to impose himself on football matches more which is key in his position. Early doors I was unsure on him as his positioning was quite often poor and seemed easily bullied. Towards the end of the season he was definitely finding his feet at the level with the extra minutes JVS put into him. Next two years will be massive in his development. Murdocca's a strong squad player and was definitely one of our better players this season but that in itself doesn't really say all that much. His energy and workrate is second to none and his ball control is excellent but I think his passing leaves a lot to be desired, he often turns himself into trouble and also has a tendency to lose the ball in crucial areas. I agree in the sense that he's definitely the type of player who would benefit from better quality players around him, but I don't think he's a starting XI player if we're to challenge for the title next season. Just to continue on from Nate's point, the other thing that annoys me about murdocca is his constant reluctance to shoot. So many times last season he gets to the top or around the box, and either plays a pass down to one of the wings, or tries to put through a narrow ball into the box, which just isn't there. Obviously a good striker would help this, but whenever he would take the ball forward last season, the opposition would just sit off him. He needs to become a goal scoring threat otherwise, it may get too crowded in the box for our new striker to operate properly. Yeah agreed but have you actually seen him shoot? About as much power as an 11 year old.
  10. But is it a blatant lie if they chuck a bit of red and white on the away kit and a dash on the badge, with the home kit being sky blue?
  11. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/football/after-10-months-of-consternation-victorian-federation-to-sign-off-on-national-premier-league-structure/story-fnii0fc4-1226823954533 Thankfully, it's a fairly safe bet that the FFA will win out, and Heart will be playing in the NPLV/state league next season.Next season, or in a year's time? Is it late to be looking into sorting this out by September, or does the FFA like to rush things through? Also, second question: would this result in the NYL team fading out, or is the idea to operate three teams? The NPLV started a few weeks ago, effectively runs in the A-League off season, so in a year's time.
  12. They're looking fantastic. Brilliant effort from everyone involved.
  13. But what you need to realize is that we are a small part of the man city group regardless of the badge, name or colours. Our identity as it was, is gone. It left when sidwel and Co decided they couldn't deliver what they promised and sold the club before it was even given a chance to develop.I can accept being owned by the same people as man city and being part of their group but I can't handle us being a direct copy of Manchester City in Melbourne. That's fair enough. And there is little to no evidence suggesting that we will be anything like a mini man city. In fact looking at ny so far, I suspect we will be nothing like a mini man city. There is little evidence suggesting we won't be a mini Man City so all the resistance you see is people letting CFG that we don't want to be a mini Man City while all that is still in the air. We better protest a move to China because there is no evidence to suggest that won't be happening either. Seriously though I just think people are getting way too fired up about about something that has only come about through media speculation. As mentioned I am behind the campaign and will be wearing red and white. Just think the comments about burning memberships and never coming back are a little premature. Agreed but when it's something that people are so passionate about you can't really blame them for getting a bit carried away.
