  1. No, more to the point that that JVS is only part of the problem. I think changing him will make a small difference, and will not be as significant a some think. Am sure you have heard that before. Have never bought into the philosophy and culture nonsense. Always thought it was more marketing than anything else.
  2. Totally agree Herman, but I think it runs deeper than just the coach. We sacked Aloisi, and even though its a bit early, he seems to be doing well at the Raw. Why? Probably because they dont have the team issues already discussed, or at least have them to a lesser extent.
  3. Here is an interesting article based on stats regarding sacking a manager: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-23724517 Tldr:"Changing a manager during a crisis in the season does improve the results in the short term," he says. "But this is a misleading statistic because not changing the manager would have had the same result." I think some people overestimate how much difference Jvs actually makes.
  4. 40-45 minutes would be better, I reckon. Followed by a mass walkout. Best time for a walkout would be when they score their 3rd in the 80th minute. Its either going to the game or sitting at home with a crying newborn. Unsure which is worse.....
  5. I suppose they need the money to compete with us now.
  6. Cool, just sent him a pm. 21 Nov is the big date. Then we find out if i am the father
  7. Flights and game tix booked. Will be flying in thurs afternoon. Will prob be looking to stay at kings cross.
  8. Nah, we are used to watching us concede our lead in the extra time so its no an issue. Its all about hanging out and drinking beer at a different ground.
  9. Flight booked. Where is everyone staying, or is it all over the place?
  10. Just checked and bookings for the bus are here: http://www.goldbus.com.au/html/tours.aspx#tour1 Anyone driving or is bus the goer?
  11. The club has Can you give any more details about the bus? I looked on their facebook and homepage but couldnt see any way to book. Cheers
  12. Posted over 3wks ago and now its only at 151 pages. Its dead, so no need to reopen it in another thread.
  13. Ok, so am a bit confused. So do we only have an Australian marquee and an international marquee left then?
  14. From the news story here http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8868088 There are still five holes in City's squad, including places for an international marquee, an Australian marquee and another international under the salary cap.
  15. Dont know if it will make all that much diff if its only for a 10 game guest stint.
  16. Applaud the people who are making this new supporters group happen. If I can make a suggestion, can I say that there is something built into this group that when, not if, the founders leave, the group will continue and people will be replaced. This stops having a new support group every few years when the founders move on and want to keep the name. Thoughts?
  17. I have that weekend off. I think it may be the only away trip I have been on where I havent called in sick!
  18. Fuck. Only had 50 on Chile.
  19. Better than bet 365. Match what you put in up to $200 but have to turn the whole amount over, including your original deposit, three times in 90 days. Cheeky fuckers.
  20. Lets keep this membership related and positive rather than why we people are not joining as there is already another thread of 150 pages discussing.
  21. Indeed. I feel its a new chapter in the history of the club rather than starting something completely new. I support this club for reasons other than the colours and the name, but if you support the club primarily for the colours, name, owners etc or whatever reason, then I suppose you cant be blamed for leaving. I like the colours, the name change and the new emblem so I have already renewed my membership. Rather than continually re-stating why I am still a member, reading the same or opposite of why people are not signing I will just leave this thread. Trying to change someones opinion when they dont want it changed is a waste of time. People have made up their minds and I hope to see them at next seasons game, or at the Imp for some WC matches.
  22. One way, get your own way back. Stay in NY/Manchester or come back home to work. Hmmmm difficult decisions.......
  23. With the sponsor being Etihad, why not? Each home game a lotto for members to fly to watch a game in NY or Manchester and vice versa. How good would that be? And because I suggested it, I get the first ticket.
  24. Renewed yesterday when I received the email. Was only the 5th at that stage so good to see its at 548 as of now. Once the people complaining the most get over the fact that their membership price does not include a seat on the board to sign off on any changes they will come around. They just need a bit more attention and to stomp their feet before they reluctantly renew.
  25. Pretty much where I'm at too. Have been pretty loud with my opinions about the home kit changing but knowing that change was inevitable I'm content with what they went with; it's better than the solid sky blue kit I feared we would end up with. I would have preferred some red on the home kit but I'll take solid white with the blue stripes. I'm actually a fan of the logo too, the flag of Melbourne is present and I don't mind the blue border which obviously had to be there. Agree that David Villa posing with the red shirt was a nice touch...all in all, I'm ok with the kit/name/logo outcome and thrilled about seeing Villa play for us. My prediction is the colour change is not over. Its well known that the owners wanted the solid sky blue and they will probably keep working towards that.
