  1. the dam seagulls were in the bloody way I could barely see the goals on the highlights package
  2. smartest move in our clubs history.
  3. very typical signing by us.. just like our performance was in the ffa cup the other nite. the belief of 'CFG are just gonna sit back in their first season and observe' might be bullshit..
  4. Mooy was again one of our best with his vision and forward passing last night. I'm sure once he moves on to bigger and better things our ball movement will suffer immensely further putting pressure on JVS's style of coaching. Lets hope the club has planned for this by looking for a potential replacement if Mooy leaves!
  5. Probably the best thing to come out of the game against Perth 2 weeks ago is that it made the club aware of Vukovic. Would be a good signing
  6. Should drop LOLren and play Mooy as attacking mid
  7. Going back to the Fred signing I thought that cost us more off the field that it did on it. People stopped taking us seriously after that.
  8. Even if we win we'll probably put in another insipid performance a week or two later and we'll be back to square one. This club cant be consistent even if their survival depended on it.
  9. Bottom line is there's no winning mentality. The coach is responsible for giving his players the intent and belief of winning each game. The JVS mentality is: 'just try and do your best'.
  10. Arrogance/stubborness has absolutely killed this club. Just look at every one of our post match conferences after a loss from either JVS or JA. Munn and JVS have tried their hardest to keep a low profile in the media by deflecting their failures as 'bad luck' and 'not taking our chances'. Thankfully Bozza and those on foxsports have FINALLY noticed what bad shape were in. Now the club is in the spotlight and CFG will be forced to act if this shit continues.
  11. Its a no-brainer why Miller was signed cos he perfectly fits the Heart/City mould: A midfielder with shit attitude and stamina that is too scared to take the game on or just doesn't feel like it. Weve had a few similar types: Matt Thompson Andrea Migliorini Nick Kalmar Richard Garcia Love our clubs recruiting.
  12. Oh please. It is basic fucking defending to be able to hold on to a lead with only injury time minutes remaining. It is basic defending that non-professional footballers know: keep your shape, stay compact and put enough pressure on opponents and the ball so they can't fashion any real shooting opportunities. Professional footballers don't (or shouldn't) have to be coached how to defend with only a few minutes remaining. And if professional footballers need to be micro-managed in such an elementary area of the game, then you have a real problem with those so-called 'professional football players'. Except we've seen this scenario in JVS-coached Melbourne teams. time and time again. You would think by now JVS has practiced this scenario with the players at training, so that there is set plan for them to follow, and he himself has in mind the right substitutions to close a game down. Not Retre for example. Graham Arnold has said he coaches his teams to play the first half for 50 minutes and the game itself for 95 minutes. There are many examples where teams score just before half time and in the 85+ minutes. Why? Because some teams switch off mentally and let it happen. On the other side, its rare for us to score in those times. Alex Ferguson's teams had a habit of doing it in "Fergie time". Were not winners it's plain and simple. Most clubs have a winning culture in place that gives the playing list that belief. We still have the Heart mentality of being a little club punching above our weight after we take a lead or win a rare game. And that fault lies with JVS, Munn etc who should've fucked off long ago. Club needs to clear the shit before we can finally progress on the pitch.
  13. Our draw card will be our football quality and star players. We know we will get the players, we just need to get the football right. And if we did by this stage we would then see a healthy crowd this fri night. This club has the potential to offer something different than what the tards do. Like the attributes that distinguish Barca from Real Madrid (minus the history) Barca - people's club, working class, possession football: preached by Melb V Real Madrid - heavy investment, star quality, winning mentality: CFG standards Just our winning mentality needs to develop sooner rather than later.
  14. in all our history weve never been able to learn how to break down a half decent defense. we may aswell just be a counter attacking team because keeping possession has never got us anywhere. also i dont think that much pressure will be on JVS this season.. we may have new owners but the same muppets that kept JA for so long are still in charge of this club. one of the reasons why yesterday just felt like an ordinary heart game but with even more disappointed fans.
