Went out to John Cain for this one. Very small attendance. We were beaten 2-1, despite taking the lead after 5 minutes.

It was a mildly depressing afternoon. We have a very good batch of players, but it was the same old story - not enough clear-cut one-on-ones with the CCM keeper for us to score. I would say CCM set up about five and converted two, whereas we probably had two and converted just the one. In the last few minutes, despite being down to ten men, we often had the ball bobbling around in their 6-yard box but no-one could get the bloody thing in the back of the net.

Stefan Mauk was sent off when he received a second yellow card, allegedly for diving, which was a bit harsh for the NYL. Thought a caution might have been more appropriate.

GolGol played for the first half. He looked pretty perky for the first 20 or so, but faded. He combined well with Jeremy Walker on the right. J. Walker ran himself into the ground and was my MOM, closely followed by Phil Petreski. We will be foolish if we don't offer these two senior contracts before someone else does.

Don't think the problem in the club - seniors or youth - is actually our strikers, it's that we don't give them enough clear-cut chances in the first place.

There's a report listing the team on the FFA website.

Also went and like u said we have the same problem as last year - Ball Movement is simply way to slow.

Agree with jw and Cadete's posts.

Also would like to add the Ref was a cunt. Not the worst performance of the weekend but shit nonetheless and robbed us of any chance of getting anything from the game.

Very shit turnout too, especially from those who said last year they would do their best to make it to as many youth games as possible. Like I said in the other thread, you can really see how much the dedication has dropped off in the last 12 months. Can't ask for a better time than 3pm on a Saturday either.
