  1. Will change my profile pic to him if he scores more than 5 goals this season.

Not really putting yourself out there, how about you get a tattoo of him if he scores 5 or more

    Fancy a wager then pal?

Certainly, if he scores 5 or more ill tatoo his likeness on you B)

  2. I know this is very out there but i've mentioned it before to a couple of people and they can see my point of view.

We have no LB worth shit atm besides MAYBE Germano (who isnt really a LB and is always bloody injured).

When Koren comes back into the side, the first person that looks to probably get dropped off the starting 11 will probably be Mass which would be a shame cause of his bloody work rate.

Instead of having this bloke sitting on the bench wasted, why not try him at LB and see how he goes. I know he isnt left footed, but hhe bloke is a bulldog that chases everything in the middle for 90 minutes so imagine him a LB.

IMO would be a hell of a lot better than any other player in our squad at LB.

Exactly what I've been saying, not ideal but surely he can't be any worse than the current options and his endeavor can't be disputed.

  3. europa league is a waste of time imo, trophy for the best average team yay!

The only thing i hope for is some signings that will balance the squad and give depth where its needed (i.e. defence) so we can go on and start winning all the trophies (excluding the europa league)

  4. The club has just posted a gallery of Villa moments on its website, but was there an official release that he was leaving? I can't recall seeing anything ....

Pretty sure the only thing we officially announce are sponsorship deals from family members

  5. Who ever it is (and I'm not convinced we will necessarily get a change soon) it will be real interesting in terms of finding out what CFG are thinking with regard to what's required in this league. JvS's appointment was almost out of convenience and they didn't want to rock the boat straight away once they took over, so I can't class that as a CFG appointment.

This is an appointment that essentially has no restrictions in an otherwise heavily regulated league and as such can have the greatest impact. The a-league is not somewhere where a superior squad can hide the cracks of a sub par manager.

Time will tell what the overlords will have learnt and where they place us on their list of importance when it comes to on field success.

  6. I think the game is on the 19th Nov, we have ccm on the 16th and sfc on the 22nd. I'd guess we will lose him for the ccm game because he may be in camp. Ange may only play him for a half at most so he should be fine to back up for the sfc game

  7. I'm embarrassed that our culture is such that we were prepared to have him turn up just a few days before the first game of the season instead of training for weeks with our players so that our players got to know how to play with Villa and Villa with us. So much for being a team. Doubt someone like Graham Arnold would have tolerated something like that.

A little birdy from inside the club made mention that he basically just did what he wanted while he was here. If thats the way we are going to manage our big name loan players, then we got big problems. No one is bigger than the team I don't care who you are, if your not here for the cause, bugger off!

Club management should be controlling this sort of thing. I'm here to support a team to hopefully get wins and take home trophies, I'm also here for all the losses and the hard times because I'm a faithful supporter and those times are a part of football. I'm not here to see some self rightious rich guy float in and out of the joint like its some preseaon holiday camp.

I won't miss him under the circumstances, but more worrying is whether the club has learnt from this and will they have a harder line approach in future.

  8. Okay so disappointing result last night, but lets focus on the active support.

    pros:

    the new flags looked amazing

the lads at the back yelling duff man ooooooh yeah

    we love you chant

the hard work by the capo and loud noise by the couple of rows around him

    cons:

    noise level was really low

middle part of the terrace was barely chanting, which made it hard for people towards the back of active to hear what the capo and those at the front were chanting

    megaphone is really unclear

lack of player chants, particularly kisnorbo, villa, paartalu

lack of other chants such as i just can't get enough, come on you boys in white call and response chant

chants felt too repetitive, especially we are Melbourne, all though i love it

Melbourne city you are our side chant, just doesn't work

people just in active standing. I can never understand this. If you're not going to sing then why would you want to stand up? Just sit down but out of active terrace!

i know there's a lot of negatives but its only round 4 of a new terrace so we will get louder each week, just need to work on a few things. Well done to the capo, you're doing a great job

As a person not in active, to me there seemed to be a new chant every couple of minutes, if anything id say it felt like there was to much chopping and changing. One thing that I think adds to atmosphere is the familiar sounds you hear at the game when your team is playing. Its something I notice the more recognised groups seem to do well. BTW this is not a criticism in anyway, just some feedback from someone who thinks this new group has started really well and is on a very promising path.

For me there is a comfort associated with hearing certain chants as a supporter and i think as a player as well (feeling like you are at home because you have the familiar pulse of particular sounds/chants.)

Thats my observation anyway. All in all, top job, especially when you think its only our 2nd home game, very impressive.

  9.

Why did he start after only playing 45 min in the youth league??????

He hadn't even played a 90 min pre-season game since returning from injury.

Because like everything at this club it was believed there was a quick magic solution that would make all the problems go away.

Honestly Ramsay's previous efforts warranted a complete drop from the squad, Garrucio later proved that he is not much better than Ramsay so for me starting Germano was pretty much the best/only option if we wanted to try for a win. Unfortunately the guy has terrible biomechanics, is built extremely imbalanced and therefore gets injuries just by moving (Surely the club could have worked on these aspects over the last few years) - Long story short, recruitment also has to be questioned, all these guys are well known to the club so none of this should be a surprise and therefore these issues should have been dealt with by recruiting someone capable. I just dont see it happening with this with club until seasons end, and I hope I'm wrong on that.

  10. Past the tunnel it was hard to know it was going on, I reckon only a handful of peeps in perm A on that side were even aware there were others on the wing getting involved. I think we might have been attacking at the time too which kept people in that section glued to the game.

I can definitely see it improving next time, good first time imo
