  1. I think if JA and HK see it as how HK becomes a part of the team rather than the 'star approach' of building the team around HK, then the signing has more chance of a good outcome.

He disrupted the Victory team.  The were built around HK, players loved his work ethic and ability but despised the off field and dressing room antics.  He tried to control the tactics and team mates at Victory and ultimately contributed to the sides failure that season.

Is JA and HF mature enough as managers to control it?  I'm skeptical, but hope they do.

  2. Nah, we should share the vacilities with SmHFC, but not affiliate with them any further. Think building in Caseh is not a good option, would prefer Monash as its ready instead! An Latrobe uni's paractjcallg in my backyard. J work, therefore never make training, happy tk travel once a year for a family day, not fussed!

  3. Vranks is quality, wouldn't put him on bench, but a partnership with big Og would be awesome. Haven't had any rumors yet, but I know for a fact Og has a soft spot for Heart.

i assume, if an opportunity presents itself at the right price, he'll be with Heart one day!!! I hope it's next season.

  4. Don't agree with this article in full.  Pappas is talented and I wish he was back at Heart, but think this article is more of a promotional peice.

Oakleigh creates players or alows them to graduate?!

Kalmar, graduated there.  He ploughed his trade at Preston Lions.  Sasha Ogenonovski was another Lions prodigy.  Green Gully, Knights builds them, big clubs like Thunder, Oakley, SMFC buy them before they leave to A league, make no mistake!!

  5. Don't know about that.  would buy a m/ship to struggling clubs in another state.  I'll support the sport, but not buy a membership to local sides.

ridiculous idea bringing an ethnic club into the league.  the floodgates open then MArconi, United, Knights will be knocking on the door buying strugling clubs.  The FFA aren't stupid, they make strategic decisions, they get it wrong sometimes, but this option isn't worth a thought.  Such a move, will undo much of the good work done to get to this point in the Aleague...

its never going to happen.  i and my small army of friends who are heart family members, would get up and walk away. I bet there will be many other disgruntled former VPL lovers or even unconnected supporters who will strongly agree with my views.

In addition, whats the average crowds to SM games, 2-3K?, how does that add to 20K?  The supporters of the great NSL days are gone, retired or passed on, they don't draw those types of crowds ever and will not come out of the woodwork.

  6. It's the midfield we need to fix. Defence was fine last year. Get a dominant dm a good am and a marquee striker.

correct.  we conceded less goals in comparison to sydney, wellington, newcastle, and our neighbours.  i.e. 31 goals for, 40 against MHFC, deficit of 9 goals.  Therefore, simple math suggests we need to fix our attacking midfielders supplying our strikers.  fix the midfield, employ a stronger striker, majority of our problems can be solved.

This is what I expect the new candidate for the new Heart job to do, crunch stats daily, identify each players strengths (i.e. Willo, Duga, Ramsay are fast wingers), and provide coaching staff with valuable insight in order make decisions that win games!!  No great manager does it alone, JA should be demanding more support staff.  Come on Heart, time to turn PRO............
