Thing is the guys out are hard workers IMO. Garcia= our best player. Behich= runs all game. Gerhardt= lots of heart/2nd best player this season IMO. Colosimo= for all his weaknesses I think passion isn't one.

Correct. Mitchinson should be a regular in the first team. Definitely good enough and proven it. I think he is a great option for the bench due to the versatility he offers us. Can go to LB, allowing Aziz to pinch hit at LW or emergency CB.

Agree with fullback and winger differences. Fullback= more space, can just run and then dish off Wing= more attention from defence, delivering final pass We have the best fullback in the league, be happy! FWIW if we kept Goodwin I'd go other way than most with Goodwin at LW. Like Goodwin's final product.

Ouch. No Gerhardt, Behich and Garcia! Massive outs. Would be delighted with a point. I'd go with... Bolton Marrone- Gray- Vrankovic- Mitchinson Germano-Thompson Fred Golgol- Tadic- Williams Redmayne, J. Walker, Kaya, Hoffman/Macallister Don't like having Hoffman or Macallister on bench. I am not as anti Hoffman as most but I think his main strength is his tank to run all game, something that doesn't suit coming off the bench. I have made my feelings about D-Mac only being suitable to replace Tadic clear.

Grella being anywhere from being a terrible to astute signing pretty much totally depends on the terms of the contract but as always most will just go with their random guesses which they take as factual. Heavily peformance based contract/minimal base= astute. Biggish base salary= terrible. Grey in between= grey in between!

Keep saying it but really hope we can how we use the bench. I am not a JA hater and find calls for him to be sacked in the short term ridiculous but IMO he is really struggling with the restricted A-League bench. Macallister on for Fred in last few mins in a good example. How often do we just use a sub/subs very late on JUST to get fresh legs, causing balance/structure issues?

What I said after the game is that I am more concerned about the loss of confidence to chase a game then the loss of one point. JA has come out and said we left ourselves open to the counter attack chasing goals. I hope he means that in 'I don't mind it if we are attacking' way rather than 'next time we won't chase a game'.

I like that he is a technical midfielder. Really think we need to improve on how we hold possession in midfield.

To compound the hurt of losing Goodwin, he is playing on the bench for the club who offered him more opportunities. I just cannot fathom how he doesn't start for the Jets. Can anyone help me out here?

DMs are so important to JA's formation/tactical style. No wonder we went for Grella and got Garcia with that in mind despite having Germano and Thompson. Thing is Germano and Grella haven't played a min, Thommo is struggling and Garcia needed in a more attacking role due to Mate bring injured/Fred struggling/Garcia being easily our best player. So we play Hoff...

It's either D-Mac or Tadic. That's JA's problem, trying to cram in his best 11/15 rather than roles/tactics. I think D-Mac's alright, better player than a few in the squad but he can't play with Tadic. Unless JA and co think Tadic will struggle to see out 90 mins I'd leave him out of tge squad. BTW VIctory looking good at the moment.

Would absolutely love to have Germano. Anyone know how many minutes he got in today? Just a few things - Bolton had a nightmare last night but short memories on here. World class save vs Glory just last week and a very good overall game. I think he has been decent. Perhaps he is on notice but no one I'd be bringing in Redmayne now, especially in such a huge game. - We will hear the regular million calls to drop Colosimo. Average player but was awesome last night. Don't drop guys when they are one of only two players to show anything - Please, PLEASE JA play guys on the bench who offer some versatility. Vrannakovic's role seems to be eating a few seconds coming on as a sub if we want to hold onto a result. Tadic and D-Mac should never be on the same pitch and D-Mac cannot be that much better than the next sub. Williams can go central with GolGol wide if we need to sub Tadic (I'd only do it for injury considering he is in our top 2-3. - Don't wanna hate on the Hoff, probably rate him more than anyone here but gotta go. Marrone is just not offering us enough considering his ability, I'd use the situation to come him to DM. I am definitely not in the sack him now camp (thing 90% of that camp would start a sack 'insert new manager's name here' thread in about 2 weeks) but his bench selection frustrates me no end. A-League has a crappy 4 man bench where you are forced to use all outfield subs or go without. It's terrible but you gotta get with the program. All games bar last night where we were forced into it, we have gone with a bench including... - A pure CB who has only been used pretty much to eat time off clock when in front - A CF who cannot work with the starting CF. Basically should only sub off for eachother FFS one area we actually go alright with is having players who can fill in at CB (Thompson, Marrone, Mitchinson).

Reckon we can bring in Germano after just one YTS game? We badly need him. I am not as anti Hoffman as pretty much everyone here. He works his arse off, has a great tank allowing him to run from box to box and creates pressure on the oppositon's gun play makers but he simply isn't good enough. Kills us when trying to win and especially keep possession of the ball. Would love Germano back in DM. I don't mind having two DMs but one when of them is basically like an AFL style old school tagger, it is brutal. We are basically relying on closing side down for 90 minutes and doing a smash and grab at the other end. I understand we have actually stopped the opposition from creating their own goals when away and it's mostly been our errors but that's what happens when you play such a defensive style. You have the ball in your defensive half so much you are really opening yourself up to errors.

This forum is just so bloody reactive. Dropping Bolton? I know he had a howler, absolutely woeful but do we remember last week? That save was absolutely world class. I don't think he has been wonderful this season but I think he has been decent. Also, having a young keeper just come straight in for a derby? I think it probably should be Bolton's last season but overall I still believe he deserves a spot in the side. Colosimo baggers are simply selective watchers. Without him or Gerhardt, we'd have been absolutely smashed last night. I am definitely, DEFINITELY not a fan of Colosimo but no way would I drop a guy who was COMFORTABLY in our best 2 last night.

Marrone to DM, Walker to RB, Hoffman out. Midfield is just woeful. Please, please come back ASAP Germano. I see Grella as realistic an option to play for us as Beckham.

Shocking, shocking performance. Offered nothing. Absolutely saved by CB pairing of Gerhardt and Colosimo. I get that Colosimo isn't rated on here (I am not a fan) but anyone having a go at him tonight just has their mind made up and isn't really watching.
